Ana's POV
Sometimes, we just freeze in our memories no matter how hard we try to break out of it, we cannot escape it. Our mind is the biggest obstacle in our life. It keeps replaying our deepest scar, memories over and over again not stopping.
You will think you have forgotten about it, out of nowhere, something will trigger that memory unexpectedly. Like today, that word is linked to a bad memory that has two scars left, one mentally and physically.
Arjuna and Vijay are aware of the mental one but not about the physical one. Their mum saw the physical and promised not to tell anyone until I am ready. She was the only one who could pull me out of my deepest and darkest thoughts or memories.
She gave me the love, affection and care that I craved from my own blood. Pooja, their mum's name, made me feel loved. She did not treat me especially instead she treated me like her own child. She scolds, punishes me and most of the time she pampers me.
So I was not surprised to see her smiling face when I was brought out of the dark memory.
"Mama!" I cried as I jumped into her arms sobbing like a baby,
"My child, mama is here" she stroked my hair in a lovely manner.
"You are safe baby, I am here. Mama is here" she cooed helping to calm down.
Soon, I fell asleep on her lap as she continued stroking my hair as she sang a lullaby softly,
"You told me that you will send her back after dinner. It is midnight now and she is still here" I woke up to a familiar voice.
I rubbed my eyes and saw that I was in a new yet familiar room. I walked down to the living room where the voices coming from.
"Mama, what is going on" I croaked as my throat hurt from all the crying.
"Nothing child, come, I made you something for your throat" Ma kissed my forehead as she gently pulled me into her kitchen and passed me a cup of her special juice that always helps my throat.
"What's wrong with her?" the same loud voice boomed making me have a headache.
"You need to calm down before you make her feel worse," I heard papa replying.
"Come on, you need to rest more" mama brought me back to the room and tucked me in.
Vincent's POV
It is almost midnight and they have not brought back Ana. I hope she is okay, I have been checking my phone to see if there are any messages from her or her friends.
Our brothers excluding Alessio are here with me in the living room waiting for her to come back.
"Vince, I think we have to go over to check their house" Luke stood up pissed off due to being too worried.
"Yeah, Luke, Ethan and you should check there, while the rest of us will stay home, in case they come home later" James suggested as he drank his glass of wine.
I agreed with him and we drove over to the brothers' home. It was a two-floor home, yet it seems homely.
I walked to the door with the other two behind me. I knocked on the door. After a while, it was opened by one of the brothers.
"Hey, come on in. I have actually been waiting for you," he opened the door for us.
He then led us to their living room where his parents, I presume were sitting looking worried.
"Ma, Pa, they are Ana's brothers, at least half of them" he introduced us to his parents.
"Ah, nice to meet you three. I wish it was under a better circumstance," their father shook our hands, and he did not seem to be scared of us.
"You told me that you will send her back after dinner. It is midnight now and she is still here" I got straight to the point.
"About that," one of the brothers, Vijay I think, mumbled.
I heard footsteps heading our way, we saw it was Ana, but she did not seem to notice us there.
"Mama, what is going on" she spoke but she sounded bad like her throat was sore, what is wrong with my sister.
"Nothing child, come, I made you something for your throat" their mother kissed Ana's forehead as she gently pulled her into their kitchen
"What's wrong with her?" I asked my tone contained anger and worry.
"You need to calm down before you make her feel worse," their father replied rubbing his forehead. Before I could say anything their mother came back into the room.
"I have tucked her in, she is fast asleep" she sat down beside her husband,
"Did you give her the medication?" Arjuna asked his mum, I frown.
"Yeah, I mixed it in her juice as usual" she nodded calmly.
"Did you just drugged my sister?" I can feel my vein popping out on my forehead,
"I am sure, there are lots of things you have yet to learn about your sister," she spoke to me in anger,
"But remember this boy, she is my daughter, hurt her one more time, sees what I will do to you" she stomped off in anger.
"Vin, Ana's history is not something we can tell you. Today's incidents trigger a bad memory. This is not our first time handling it. And Ana knows that we mix medication into her juice. Mama is a doctor more specifically Ana's personal doctor" Vijay passed me a file. It contains Ana's medical reports collection over many years.
"The after effect as you saw, she will lose her recent memories, and only my family will be visible to her" Arjuna explained calmly. I sucked in my breath in shock, what happened to my baby.
"And, I think you guys need to find out what you did to her that made her this unhappy" Vijay gave us a hint that I am not sure if he was accusing us or helping us.
But he was right, she became worse over the months, but with her friends she is normal but with us, she is always quiet. The problem is with us. We need to find out where we went wrong to find a solution for this.
"Are you willing to do anything for her?" Arjuna asked with a smirk on his face,
"Yes! Hell, we can kill ourselves it makes her happy" Ethan spoke shocked.
"Nah, you do not have to kill yourself. The answer is in your house and you will find out about the problem sooner or later. One wrong move, we will step in" Vijay winked as he showed us to the guest rooms. He suggests we stay the night and bring Ana home with us in the morning when she will be clear-minded.
