It was perhaps the first time the System had seen emotion on his face, as emoting in general seemed to be difficult for him to accomplish.
It was only a slightly raised brow, but she sensed that there was some bafflement and disbelief in him; his eyes seemed to ask whether or not something as minor as a game would lead her to literally convincing old gods to come to a world.
"... Crazy..."
"..."
Personally, the System felt attacked by the World Serpent's single exclamation.
"Oi, oi, oi, what do you mean crazy? There's a legitimate reason why, and if not for this game, you wouldn't be here, now would you?"
"..."
He couldn't refute that, so he simply leaned back into his chair, his long legs sliding on the floor till he was comfortable in his seat—it seemed like this explanation would take a little while.
The System slowly calmed down at Jörmungandr's relaxation, and with a more passionate yet more professional countenance, she began her explanation.
"The game I've come up with will be called various names in the human realm, but the name I'm gearing for is 'Nine Kingdoms'; it's going to be a survival game based in mythology, and will be focused on a level up system for players."
She leaned in, a smile creeping up on her dark face from excitement, her hands beginning to tremble.
"These players will build certain factions and will war across this land while establishing kingdoms. Sounds fun, right? Only, there's a limit to the amount of kingdoms possible—nine in total, actually. Each player will receive a patron whose power they will draw on.
"That," she pointed her finger towards him, "is where you come in. I need you to become a patron of a certain amount of players. Of course, it's a choice based on who they choose and which mythological track and faction they choose to follow in the beginning, but who wouldn't want to choose the World Serpent himself?"
Jörmungandr simply blinked at her clear excitement, as if waiting for her to get to the point. The System blinked and cleared her throat at his lack of reaction, as if embarrassed and preparing to finish off her thought.
"So... I want you to become a faction leader and level up along with the humans. After all..."
A smirk creeped across her face, her expression almost villainous as Jörmungandr tilted his head in question.
"...all of them will be brought here to this world to participate in this little death game, along with that girl you're searching so desperately for."
"...!"
