Chapter 139 - need for resupply

the morning sun woke me, I didn't realize I'd fallen asleep on the couch, I stood amd stretched, finally acknowledging Julie who was standing directly in front of me.

"morning."(syn)

she waved me off and sat down next to me, cross armed and visibly annoyed.

"you look cheery today."(syn) I said in sarcasm.

"I am not!"(Julie) half shouted.

I gotta say it hurts that MY daughter doesn't know what sarcasm is.

"morning you two."(Allie) said as she walked into the room, sitting on my other side after kissing me on the cheek.

I smiled at her before sitting down myself, Julie groaning and saying "gross" quietly.

I was about to tell her "I'll show you gross" when Allie grabbed me by the chin and made me face her, I swear she could hear my thoughts somedays.

"leave the poor girl alone, we have a bedroom for a reason."(Allie) teased.

"MOOOOM!"(Julie) yelled, shooting up from the couch and fleeing up the stairs.

both Allie and I laughed, it was waaay too easy to mess with Julie.

"so, what's the plan for today?"(syn) I asked, figuring I'd start doing something sooner rather than later.

Allie didn't answer for a sec and just put her head on my shoulder, sitting there for a moment, finally answering me after a small silence.

"we need some supplies, gotta head to the neighboring town again."(Allie)

it was always a sore subject because the neighboring town hated elves, and I just so happened to marry and have a kid with one.

a kid that was half elf(her mom is an elf), half human(because of my ability), and a demi God all at the same time, you could see how people already heavily against other races would react to that.

so this restock of supplies had always been rough for us, except for this time, I wasn't cursed anymore.

"let's all go this time."(syn)

she looked at me like it was the worst idea that's ever come out of my mouth, which was fair since last time she was almost lynched by an angry mob.

"just hear me out."(syn)

she nodded, I knew she was reserving the right to shoot my plan down, she'd definitely earned it, especially on this subject.

"we'll make it a family trip, kinda, I'll train Julie, you'll train Julie, we'll get some time to relax by ourselves, then by the time we get there not only are we sure our daughter can protect herself just in case we're sure to get more supplies so that we won't have to go back again for a while."(syn)

it looked like shenwas actually considering my idea, I could see the gears turn in her head.

"I can end the trip at any time, for any reason?"(Allie) asked, I knew she wanted to keep us all safe, she was used to having to do it, kinda had to for fifteen years.

"absolutely."(syn)

"alright, I'm in, let's all go."(Allie)

I was about to get up and grab some bags when she stopped me and said something else.

"don't forget, I'll end it if anything too crazy happens."(Allie)

"you're married to a calamity god, something crazy always happens around me."(syn) I half joked and half reminded her.

"don't push it."(Allie)

I nodded.

"yes ma'am."(syn)

with that I stood, walking my way over to the wood stairs and climbing them two at a time, reaching the top and turning, Julie's door directly in front of me.

I took quiet steps, making sure she wouldn't hear me, scaring her was something I've always done, now it's alot easier.

it took me a second to reach the door, not surprised she didn't notice, with one fluid motion the door was open and I was in her room roaring, the primal sound started her enough to yelp and fall flat on her face on the floor.

I couldn't stop my laugh, her expression one of angry and annoyance as she stomped her way over to me, punching and kicking at me as I kept laughing.

"STAY STILL ALREADY!"(Julie) yelled, her foot smashing through a floorboard as I saw the skill energy in her body circulate.

"alright alright I'm sorry for scaring you, calm down...breathe...look at me....breathe."(syn)

the energy started to settle, her foot slowly raising from the floorboard, her face one of concern, her usual aggression gone.

"I'm so sorry!"(Julie) said, nearly on the verge of tears, she put on a tough act and wanted to seem aggressive but I could tell actually being aggressive terrified her, especially when she couldn't control it.

maybe scaring her today wasn't the right move.

"no, I'm sorry, I knew my aura had that side effect, only right that my skill does too since it did combine with my aura at some point, it combined in your body too, aura and skill."(syn)

she didn't get angry at my explanation, only slightly more teary eyed, she moved closer and hugged me, I could feel her shaking.

she was a battle junky yes, she was trying to act tough sure, but pure aggression wasn't something she had in her, not until now.

I just held her for a bit longer, up until her usual demeanor took over and she acted all embarrassed and annoyed at me, pushing me away and standing awkwardly in the middle of her room.

"what do you want?!"(Julie)

she needed to talk to someone about this, she doesn't know how to deal with wrath and aggression, at least not on the scales she's about to feel thanks to my skill and aura.

"if you ever wanna talk, I'm here."(syn)

she groaned and made an "eww" expression, keeping her "cover" of cold hearted and mean.

I wouldn't be the one to break her cover, I've known about it for a while now, since she was eight I think, she's been at this a good chunk of time.

"well we're all heading to town for supplies so get ready and bring a large empty bag."(syn)

her face paled the second I said that, she must remember that one time we all went, not exactly what I'd call a good time, especially not back then.

I gave a wave to Julie and left the room, closing the door on my way out, my next stop the stray we took in yesterday.

I kept walking straight, past the stairs as I reached our guest room door, my fist knocking on it, a girl's voice coming from behind.

"coming!"(girl)

the door opened and the newly dressed light brown haired girl greeted me, she was wearing Julie's old clothes, which knowing my faughter probably caused alot of protest.

"were all heading to town, can't exactly leave you in an empty house with no food so you're tagging along."(syn) I told her bluntly.

she nodded and left the room, walking downstairs before me, leaving me in the dark and narrow hall for a moment, my eyes blurring for a sec and my balance faltering as I nearly collapsed.

I held the wall as I breathed deeply, calming myself as I held onto the wood paneling.

[LF:15/100]

no wonder I feel like this, I haven't eaten.

my eyes flickered weakly as I stood uneasily, slowly hobbling down the stairs before going immediately to the door, throwing it open amd falling through it, crawling into our front yard and towards a few trees, my siphon activating.

the closer I got to the trees the taller I stood, eventually back at full height and meter all [100/100] of it.

I gotta stop forgetting to eat.
