Chapter 140 - a "perfect" creature

with Allie carrying all the empty bags it left me and Julie free to train, well sorta.

I was trying to get her to be able to circulate her skill energy while doing something other than fighting but everytime she felt even the tiniest bit of aggression she shut down, the skill energy coming to an uneasy rest, seemingly annoyed at this start stop we've had going on for the past few minutes.

"why don't we take a break?"(syn) I offered, we've gotten nowhere with skill energy so far and it might help to focus on something else.

for the first time that I can remember she went along with my words instantly, that's never happened before, even Allie was surprised by it, her shocked face confirming my own.

the walk quickly turned quiet after that, only the girl and Allie talking to one another, apparently her name was Jane, guess I probably should've asked for her name earlier but I know it now so it's fine.

Julie on the other hand was uncharacteristically quiet, she looked frustrated, she looked confused.

"don't worry you'll get it, it's not the end of the world if you don't get it."(syn)

it's not the end of the world if she doesn't do it? is it?

[no]

oh thank fuck!

[you sure have some strange concerns]

I ignored the voice and refocused on my surroundings, all the different low level creatures that were milling about all coloring my sight, their bodies outlined by different colored energies, different color for different strengths, some were physical, others were magical, some had mental, others had agility.

each color showed that creatures specialty.

and only one was catching my eye, it had a gold color, gold meant it had strengths in each and every physical and mental area, a so called perfect creature, nature's best before the primals.

I tried, I tried very hard, but the lure of fighting the creature had begun to overtake me.

"hey guys why don't you set up camp here amd chill for a minute?"(syn) I asked near absent-mindedly, still focused on the gold outline in the distance.

"why?"(Allie) asked, stopping all conversation.

"I uh....saw something interesting and don't wanna lose you guys."(syn)

Allie gave a questioning look at my half truth, sighing before giving in.

"alright, go on."(Allie)

I thanked her and bounded into the forest, taking the form of a large wolf, all gray fur with the signature blood red eyes.

with speed and ease my four limbs pushed me through the underbrush, twigs and bushes being no obstacle as I maneuvered towards the outline, it's form getting larger and more defined as I got closer, it was a very large feline creature.

it was enough for me.

I let out a burst of speed, pushing further faster, reaching the creature almost instantly, halting in that same instance as an odd wave of anxiety hit me.

[mid tier god level death puma]

the large cat the size of a schoolbus had bone armor over its body, its size dwarfed me as I gazed upon it with both respect and a battle hungry fascination, my own size slowly growing to meet its, a hiss of wariness meeting my ears from the large cat.

this is perfect!

we both circled one another as our teeth bared at one another, growls and roars of pure primal came from each, a battle of dominance was underway, body language shouting at the other.

both me and the feline were ready to clash at a moments notice, each side holding immense power as we slowly walked.

I was at a weakness, I'd never fought in this form before, I'd changed into it on pure instinct alone, this wouldn't really help me, especially if it was stronger than me.

[you have a stat difference of 5]

my maw twisted into a sick smile as if I ate this things heart I'd be boosted well into god hood, my aura burst forth as my urge to kill and eat this thing grew exponentially, it's body trembled slightly as it sensed my intentions, it's survival instincts screaming at it to kill me then and there.

both of us bolted forward at each other in that instant, claws and teeth clashing into one another's body, blood squinting forth before slowing to a trickle, both me and it backing away before lunging once more, my teeth finding a home in its shoulder, a powerful sideways tear opened its fur as blood poured forth, a pained yelp and gurgle coming from it as it gave one final attempt.

it's own teeth sunk deep into my shoulder, refusing to let go as my body thrashed about, in a desperate haze I went human, it's teeth threatening to tear me in half before I snapped it's tooth, freeing myself and plummeting to the ground, cracking it and sending dust clouds airborne.

with coughs and wheezing I stood, blood pouring from me violently as the large hole in my body slowly closed, my aura growing more explosive as metal claws grew on my fingers, my body using its last push of wmeegy to send me upwards, my claws sinking into its open wound and shredding.

it's yelps and shrieks accompanied hard jerking, it was trying to fling me with the last of its life, it's blood splattering and covering me hesd to toe as I kept tearing and shredding, ripping away at its veins and arteries, it's muscles.

with one final roar it collapsed dead, my huffs and puffs deafening my ears as it fell with a loud thud, several trees and rocks shattered and splintered, the dust around it filling the air as I returned to wolf, growing back to its size and plunging my maw deep into its chest, it's heart greeting my tongue before I began chomping hungrily, sounds of blood amd gore echoed for what felt like miles before I was finished, a sense of power flowing through me like I'd never felt before.

I ahook my limbs of all the blood, my clothes slowly appearing on my body as the remaining blood soaked into it, my small hunger sated as I looked back in the direction I'd come, a horrified jane in front of me.

in but a blink of her eye I was in front of her, gently holding her wrist to stop her from fleeing.

but instead of screaming for help she bowed before me.

"It seems a new god has risen, welcome."(jane)

what's she doing?

"let's just head back."(syn] I said, pushing my confusion on her actions to the backburner of my mind and ignoring her as we began the slow walk back to Allie and Julie.
