Chapter 3 - defend part 2

"throw me."(fog) I half yelled at Amira as I barreled back her direction.

throwing out one of my non bone tipped tentacles she grabbed it, rearing back for a moment before slinging me towards the guy, I rolled myself ball like to travel faster, using my tentacle tips like spikes as I flew.

the guy tried to dodge but I lashed out a few of my tentacles, shredding his right side and releasing a sickly smell of iron into the air.

my mouth watered at the smell, something I didn't think would happen and something I wasn't ready for, why didn't that same feeling happen when Amira got cut?

looking over at Amira from my position her clothes were still cut but there was no visible injury, how?

I shook my head which was essentially my entire body to loosen these thoughts so I could focus.

I almost missed the guy charging right at me, side stepping once more the odor of blood grew stronger in my nose, the two tiny holes under my eyes that it was.

my iris glowed a dark red color as a message appeared in front of me.

[vampiric variant detected, race change noted]

[class options available]

ignoring the words in front of me I bounded forward, I was on the warpath.

the man stumbled as I restrained him with newfound strength, his limbs struggling desperately as I held him.

my mouth unconciously moved to his neck, biting down with immense pressure a sick crunch followed by sucking noises permeated my surroundings.

the sucking noises continued for what felt like forever, the immense tastes and feelings of power running through me were addictive, this could be trouble.

[first enemy killed, human level 15, level up x2 all stats +10]

[race abilities and passives acquired, rearranging data]

I let myself collapse off of the man's body, my tentacles spread chaptically on the ground around me as I breathed heavily.

"so you like blood I guess that's something."(Amira)

"not like, need."(fog)

"vampire huh?"(Amira)

"I guess, some sort of variant."(fog)

"don't worry half vampires and vampires are normal around here, we should be fine."(Amira)

I hadn't noticed it before but all of the light we once had was now gone, the only way I knew that was the stars in the sky and the moon, but it still looked clear as day to me.

"its dark now huh?"(fog)

"yeah, that took more time than I would've liked."(Amira)

I didn't answer her, something was drawing my attention, something I couldn't quite place.

"I don't like this, we should move."(fog)

"don't like what?"(Amira)

"this sense of being drawn somewhere, I don't trust it."(fog)

she didn't question me, she just walked over scooped me up and began fast walking back towards the road, ignoring all the debris from our fight.

luckily I had something to distract myself with as I was being carried.

[stat page and upgrade page fully re initialized]

[please choose variant class:

-(shadow mist user)

-(assasin)

-(blood rogue)

"tell me about blood rogue."(fog)

"huh?"(Amira)

[blood rogue is an agility based combat class for vampires that specialize in dual weilding daggers made from their own blood, they can lock pick and detect/ disable traps using their blood, and can create traps out of their blood]

this option sounded good, I wasn't sure about the other two but this one sounded useful and like I could fight on my own.

"I choose blood rogue."(fog)

"who are you talking to?"(Amira)

"I'll tell you later."(fog)

in the moment I was thankful that my vision faded along with my other senses, telling someone about a voice in your head isn't always good.

---

I watched fog be enveloped in a strange dark mist, slowly creating a medium dark red egg.

this wasn't evolution, it was too early this was something else, probably.

most things don't evolve until they hit level 20, humans only gain a class when they evolve but other races can change entirely.

was this happening to fog, I don't know, over the past few hours I guess you could say I'd gotten a bit attached, I shouldn't have since we had just met but something told me that it was fine if I got attached, something in me I hadn't heard in a while.

I took my bag off my back, placing it on the ground before delicately placing fog inside, I secured everything and checked twice before I was back to moving, since we were bonded I got some help, particularly seeing clearly in the dark and enhanced senses, I'd have to tell fog about It later.

I still wanted then to trust me, just like I trusted them, it sounds funny but ever since I saw him I knew I trusted him, it was something I didn't realise until I was carrying the little ball creature.
