"Okay to be honest I don't really have anything against the High Captains." Raina slightly raised her eyebrow at the response, "If that's the case why are you looking into them?" Alex let out a sigh and said, "That's simple it was a job." Raina couldn't tell if he was lying or not. She had the ability tell if people if people were telling the truth and it had never failed before but now she couldn't tell.
"Is that so?" She said as she furrowed. "Yes," Alex replied calmly. "If that's the situation I have a proposition for you?"
"And what would that be?" Alex asked. Raina nodded happily, "There are a group of merchants working for one of the High Captains. To be frank I want you to get rid of them? Of course I will give you compensate you fairly for your troubles." She said as she leaned forward in her seat. He had been thinking for a while before answer her, "I think your mistaken I don't...." before he could finish she chuckled before her face turned dark.
"You should know by now that you can't lie to me. There are very few people in this world that can deceive me and unfortunately you are not one of them." When Alex heard that he swallowed a mouth full of saliva. Although he appeared calm on the outside, his heart was beating fast. He knew lying to her was risky but he couldn't just come out and say, yea I'm an assassin for hire. He didn't know her and didn't know who was listening either. He didn't want to say anything that might come to bite him in the future.
He smiled and chuckled softly, "Sorry I ment no offence. I was simply being causious." Raina returned to her gentle smile, "I understand. Then about the job I just mentioned?" When Alex heard that he wanted to breath out a sigh. "Yes," Alex said, "Of course I will be happy to help you."
"I'm happy to hear that. They should arrive tomorrow night. You should be quick I doubt they would stay for long. When you are done just tell Bela, she will arrange a meeting." The woman said as she got up. "Until next time," she said and left. When she left the room Alex released a sigh of relief.
He had left not long after she did he walked back to his the inn. After getting back to inn he greeted the innkeeper and went upstairs. When he got back to his room he sat down. He set the spells he would need for the upcoming battle. He even set some spells he never thought he would use them so soon. When he was done he went to rest. When tomorrow night arrived Alex snuck out thought the window. He soon reached his destination, it was a compound near the harbour. The moonlight slightly ecsposed Alex's figure. He was dressed in full black as well a black mask he got from Darva when he joined the originastion.
