Alex waited for mid-night before striking. When the time was right and everyone had falllen a sleep, a blue energy field enveloped him. It was spell known as mage armor he never used the spell until now. He only had a few spell slots and never thought of using one of his spell slots for now. At least for now, he had never thought he would use this spell for now but he would he had to deal with a lot of enemies.
The enemies number 200 guards and 50 unarmed merchants. He knew this would be difficult. He silently went forward towards the enemy stronghold. A cold glint flashed and a corpse almost fall to the ground. Alex quickly caught the corpse before it could fall and make any noise. Alex was holding holding curved dagger. He took the body further into the shadows to hid it.
He took out his poison kit from his storage ring and smeared one of the poisons from the kit on some of his arrows. When he was done he put the arrows away in his quiver.
Two guards were patrolling by a storehouse. The merchants had stored a lot of their goods here. They had been patrolling here for a while and had started to get exhausted. They were discussing tomorrow. The older guard stopped talking. "They what's up?" the younger guard next to him asked. They had been happily chatting until now but he just suddenly stopped without saying anything.
"They I..." The young man tried to ask again but was stopped by the older guard. The older man put a fingure to lis lips. He had experienced many battles before. One of the things he learnt was to always trust his instincts and they were telling him something was wrong. He concentrated all around him, trying to hear something out of the ordinary.
He heard something passing through the air. He wasn't sure what it was until he heard a sudden sound. The young man next to him had fallen. "What!" he shouted as he kneeled down check the man's body. He saw a piece of ice in the form of a dagger sticking out of the man's head. Seeing that he quickly tried to find some cover.
But before he could he was struck in the head with a dagger made of ice. He would of preferred to use his arrows but he preferred not to leave any evidence behind and he was not very confident in his throwing knife capabilitie.
Likely no other guards came when he man fell. "It seems like no one heard anything." After realising a sigh of relief, Alex soon appeared next to their bodies. He took their around a corner and hid it there. "That should make it an even twenty but at this rate it will take for ever," Alex thought with frown. He realised he would have to move faster if he was going to deal with the rest of them.
