As they got closer to the ship, the pirates boarded the target ship. To not draw attention to himself he too boarded the ship, he could see how different this was from the pirate ship he just came from.
The polished wooden deck to the bright white sails. As much as he admired the ship, he knew what he had to do. He saw someone running, after making sure the man wasn't a pirate he struck. He took the curved sword on his waist and attacked.
It wasn't much of a fight, with on attack he beheaded the man. He could feel his hand that held the sword shake slightly and his breathing was ragged, although knew why he had to do it he still felt guilty.
He didn't know anything about the man but the very fact that he may of been innocent filled Alex with guilt. This world may be cruel but he never had to kill an innocent person before.
Even in his in previous life he made it a point to never kill a innocent person unless he had no choice. Even the person he had to kill inorder to get into the zhentarim wasn't a innocent noble.
"I can't stop now" Alex said "If I freeze here, I will only draw attention to myself. Although the pirates are not strong and if I try I should be able to get rid of them but I can't use I ship myself and I am not a necromancer so I can't simply turn them into undead."
After finishing his thoughts he moved. He killed a few more sailors. As he went through them he felt less and less guilty. When there were only corpses besides the pirates, a few of them went to grab the cargo and transport it back to the ship.
As Alex sat on the ship in dark corner away from everyone else, he could feel the waves getting stronger. "Mmm...I wonder if this was a bad idea. I knew this ship's usual route and I knew they were likely to intersect with my target but that depends on them, if something unexpected happens this will become troublesome. I will wish I listened to that guy speak before I killed him. Although I'm not that good at imitating voices I should be good enough to hold up short conversations."
Alex thought as watched sea. He started regretting his plan if he was the time that could calculate everything then he wouldn't of been in this situation. Just as he felt everything was falling apart, he saw what looked like a ship in the distance. As hard as he looked he could not identify the ship. "...Ship approaching!...ship approaching!" He heard someone yelling. Alex stuck his head out and saw the man who was yelling.
The man looked quite young and was dressed clothes simaliar to the others. Alex looked away from the man and looked back to the ship in the distance. The sails were black and it had the picture of a red skull with tentacles. It was one of Vick's ships. When Alex saw the symbol he was glad.
Although this was not what he originally wanted, he knew their were only two ways to acquire power given his current abilities and the easiest way was to gain control over the pirates in this regein.
