Wolfly dynasty have been the rulers of The Werewolf's Kingdom, for at least as long as their enemies, the Vampiryons have been of the other kingdom. The head of the family was king Daniel, a short-tempered, angry and violent man. It was almost dawn and the royal family was back home from the night ready to have their dinner of meat and wine. The hall was beautiful and light, there were torches and candles burning on all sides, huge curtains, white, navy and black, statues and paintings of the wolves, the heat of the fire coming from the hearth.
As Sebastian entered, he got a sight of his parents, the king sitting on top of the table and the queen Josephine on his side. Be tried to be cheerful greeting them with a kiss on the cheek, but he got less than an emotionless, empty look. Loras came after him and greeted their mother the same way, to then give a huge hug to his father.
- Oooohh!!! How is our alpha wolf doing?, - Loras's energy achieved to steal a slight sincere smile from his father's strict face.
- Where is your wife Loras? Still haunting?, - Dan finally spoke with a deep voice.
- Mary should soon be here father.
- Alright, we shall wait for her.
- And how did my king do tonight?, - As his brother went on speaking Sebas was noticing that only a wilful man like his brother could try to give life to a disappointing table like theirs.
- He just looked quite white in his fur., - the queen was obviously hoping to make things comfortable, - No offense meant.
Werewolves's fur turned whiter and whiter, just like their beard and hair as they got older. Daniel just laughed and said:
- I guess it can noted all over me even now., - While Sebastian tried to remember his father when he was young. He was as antipathetic as now, but all black from head to toe, the hairs on his clear light skin.
- Sebas!, - he suddenly heard the queen turn to him raising her head from the plate, - You look clearer today!
- The moon gives peace to every werewolf mother.
- Not to every one., - Josie let a slight smirk with her concentrated eyes staring at nothing.
- There she is!, - Loras loudly said, as his wife was entering, but Sebas's worried look remained on his mother.
Just like the older prince, she had an energetic mood also. She moved up to everyone and kissed her husband on the lip before sitting down.
- Alright let's eat then, since we're all finally here, - the king announced, - I wouldn't want this good food to be wasted.
- You look alive love!, - Loras looked at her, - Was it exciting out there?
- Of course it was, especially when shared with his grace. Right Daniel?, - she responded
- We really make a scatter when we team up., - the king replied, obviously having his happy face for the ones who shared his love for brutality.
- We split up at midnight., - she went on, - Even after was fun, eating a bunch of animals. But the greater part was the humans we massacred together, common intruders.
The three of them laughed, but neither Sebas not his mother could give them, but disgusting looks.
- I came back earlier., - Loras said, - A good run and the meal delicious. Sebastian was already here.
- Is it so?, - he heard the king referring to him with thick, yet softened tone, - Tell us son! You're being too quiet.
- Running was enough! Later I preferred enjoying the empty corridors and the terrace instead of killing things., - soon he realized his answer let a disappointing and angry look on his father's face.
- And you my love? Did you do something exciting?, - his father softened his face and turned to his wife, saying no word to him, - I swear you and your son are the same. Judging us like we were monsters.
- Maybe not that exiting, - Josie responded ignoring the second part of his sentence, - but roaring on top of a hill is surely a lot liberating.
- Not enough, I guess I couldn't liberate myself as easily., - Dan's voice went on filling with hatred, - I'd sooner there'd be some vampires to chop up to pieces. But they hide well, the bastards.
- That would be fun., - Sebas heard Mary say and than his brother too, - Full moon is just not their day.
- I wish I could finally eat their cunt queen! I wish I could end every single vampire in this forest...
- I can't understand this hate for the vampires and for their queen father! it doesn't make sense!, - Sebastian interrupted him having the cup overfilled from the unbearable amount of resentment in his father's voice. Still knowing the king well, he knew it was not wise to defend vampires in from of him.
- Enough!, - the queen said with a slight tone of voice and neutral face, knowing how that ends - End this stupid argument.
- What do you mean boy!, - his father turned on him with a warning voice after looking at his wife for just a moment and ignoring her, - The Vampiryons are our enemies! Anabel caused my brother's death and killed my father! She would have from me only the worse of the worst!
- It's not like that, you know it isn't!, - Sebastian got up and raised his voice, seeing it necessary to oppose his father, - She didn't kill uncle, her father did and he is dead. Grandfather blamed her too and betrayed her, that's why she killed him! Stop your arrogance for once and admit your fault!
- How dare youuu!!!, - the king stood up out of himself, with a voice even more warning than before.
Mary left her chair and ran to calm him down:
- Do not loose it Daniel, Sebas didn't want to offend you., - the prince saw her face telling him to stop the madness, - Mind your tongue little prince!
Loras got up too. He went to his father as Mary walked to Sebastian telling him not to make a fool out of himself. Still Daniel went on:
- If I was king that day, I would have fought to the end! Either kill them or die altogether fighting them!, - Sebastian just looked around, once more dived in delusion. His father lashing out and his mother just sitting there given up, he could tell she couldn't make it worthy in her mind to say a word. And the king still roared, - If it wasn't for my mother... If I could do something against her word... She decided to end the war, betraying her family, her dead husband and son!
- Don't you dare speak this way of late grandmother! She did not betray anyone, - his voice went up even more, frustrated by how a man could speak this way of his own mother, - I know all the story, she did what was right to do! You betrayed your brother's memory, you wanted to kill everyone unnecessarily!
- Careful now!!!, - the king literally screamed, so loud the windows nearly broke, - I have endured your snout all of your life! I shall've had you struggled and have a more worthy child to replace you!
A short, yet deafing moment of silence passed before Mary opened her mouth to say:
- He did not mean such thing!, - her voice tense and worried as Sebas felt her hand on his shoulders, her stare directed to the king, - Right your grace?
- Right father?, - Loras repeated.
Their father just stared at Sebastian, his eyes widened so much that you could see the blue of his eyes completely surrounded from the white. He couldn't tell what it meant, maybe he repented for his words, but would never step on his pride and say so. In his ears echoed a hard hit on the table, it was his mother and the tension was finally broken. She was on her feet looking them with pity and sadness.
- I lost my appetite., - and with a single line she said all she meant and walked out after saying, - Have a nice dinner.
The king looked at everyone and than at Sebastian.
- See what you did?, - he just said and followed his wife. Like any of this was his fault.
