"Well, this would be the last document for now." The pen in Kurono's hand stopped moving on his desk as he relaxed a bit.
His sight had gone to the area where before there was a huge stack of papers that he had to review carefully. Many aspects that had been on his mind were now mostly resolved or with plans for the future to solve them. He had no major complications with it since they were not too important, in addition to the fact that, over the years, it had become a kind of routine for him.
Kurono had closed his eyes as he let out a quiet sigh before looking up at the ceiling of his office slowly losing himself in his thoughts. Actually, he didn't spend much time like that, it wasn't like home where he didn't have to worry about his surroundings unless Shizune was accompanying him.
He had lowered his hand to look for his cell phone in his pocket, he had found it quickly and turned it on, and then went directly to the application where his photos were stored.
It wasn't something that she paid much attention to before, there were simply images of him and Kazumi that she had taken without his permission, from their day-to-day or from some landscapes from his walks, some documents or images that involved his work... That was all there was in the past, but now it was a little different.
In addition to all those images mentioned, what really captured Kurono's attention were the images of Shizune. It wasn't like Kurono took pictures of her for no reason, they were all various memories they shared together, they showed the scenes of various dates they had, photos of them together having fun, and that kind of thing, but Kurono found the picture he was looking for.
There was nothing really special to mention, the image Kurono was looking at showed him and Shizune together again, both with smiles on their faces. The important thing about that photo was that it was taken the same day they started dating. Shizune had the good idea to capture that moment, so she took that photo using Kurono's cell phone.
"Sigh… Good thing I didn't ruin it that day. I'm also glad that Shizune has somewhat overcome those ideas that were on her mind..." Kurono kept looking at the image at the same time that his sight was on his desk for a bit.
There wasn't much, his work area consisted only of a very good quality wooden desk with enough space to fit the computer he used to work, as well as places where he could store things. In short, the place would look incredibly simple if it weren't for the fact that his office was very well-decorated and tidy.
"Hmm... Maybe I should ask for this picture to be framed..." When Kurono had an idea in mind it was very possible that he would carry it out, although his concentration was completely broken the moment he heard a knock on his office door. "You can get in."
Kurono had put away his cell phone again to be able to receive the guest properly, although he already guessed who it was.
"Excuse me, Kurosawa-san." Yuki's figure was quickly visible to Kurono, as well as the fact that she was approaching his desk with what seemed to be more work for him. "Here are all the documents you asked me for this morning, I hope there won't be any sensitive issues with them."
"Good job. I'll start checking them right now." Kurono took the new stack of papers from Yuki's hands at the same time that he fixed his posture again to start working, but there was a small detail that didn't let him concentrate. "Is something wrong, Yuki-san?"
"I was wondering if you don't need help with something else, I'm sure I can be of use to you with anything..." It wasn't strange for Yuki to say that. It wouldn't be the first time she helped Kurono with his work, and he appreciated that gesture.
"Now that you mention it, could you seal these documents?" Kurono took advantage of Yuki's help by giving him the stack of papers that he had already finished to make the work a little more efficient.
Yuki agreed and pulled up a seat at the desk to start working. Thus they remained silent as the minutes passed, the room was only filled with the sound of the movement of the sheets of paper and of Yuki putting Kurono's seal on each one of them.
She was doing her job perfectly as always, but there was something that couldn't get off her mind and it was distracting her a bit, so much so that at one point the seal slipped from her hand and it slid across the desk with no sign of wanting to stop.
Yuki try to reach for it in that instant, but before she moved a single muscle to try, the seal was reached by Kurono's hand before it could cause any disaster.
"Here you go." Kurono brought it back to Yuki as she took it.
"Thank you very much, and sorry for the slip, Kurosawa-san." Yuki bowed as she apologized. She felt very foolish as she herself felt that she was acting a bit different from what she normally would.
"Don't worry, Yuki-san. We all make small mistakes sometimes, we are human after all, although I must thank you since I am aware that many times you have solved mistakes that I have made." Kurono felt that Yuki was giving too much importance to that simple situation, so he did not believe that his words were all wrong to try to make her relax.
"I'm just trying to be as reliable as possible for you, Kurosawa-san. You gave me this opportunity when I was most in need and I don't want to disappoint you, besides, you have always been very kind to me, I feel that I also need to be made to see when I have made a mistake to improve in the future." Yuki's gaze turned back to it would be as usual.
Kurono could feel the honesty in her words, and while he was satisfied with her way of thinking, it was also true that he believed Yuki was trying too hard. It was true that his work required a good level of efficiency and analytical capacity, Kurono knew that very well since for many years he had been doing all this without the help of anyone other than a few workers.
A little over a year ago when Yuki had started working at his company, Kurono had seen potential in her since he had personally interviewed her, and now he had enough confidence in her to delegate quite important jobs to her. She had become such a great help to him, and because he appreciated her, he felt that he should help her relax a little more and stop pushing herself too hard.
