The surrounding space was not too strange since it was Akira's homeroom, there were a couple of paintings and photographs adorning the walls as well as some plants that gave it a touch of life, in the center was a small table surrounded by a couple of armchairs where three people were at that moment.
"And where is my silly brother?" That question that had just been heard came from Akira once he realized that both Rena and Kurono had made themselves comfortable.
"I guess he's still with grandpa..." Rena said that since it was what she assumed, but Kurono was quick to reaffirm that.
"It's true, it seems that Akio-kun and Ryo-san had some kind of revelation and I think they won't even feel the time go by." Kurono said his thoughts without holding anything back since the image of Akio and Ryo desperately searching for all the necessary instruments to get to work had appeared in his mind.
"Sigh... That means he might not even see him all night."
"Don't worry, Rena. He actually called me before you arrived and said he'll come a little later." It was true that Akira had asked about Akio at first even though she already knew about him, but it was just to start the conversation.
"I hope so… Is Uncle Makoto here?"
"Dad is on a trip to the capital for some work pending, it's a pity that he couldn't coincide with your visit." It seemed that Rena and Akira had started a small conversation in which Kurono felt a bit left out, but he was listening quietly. "Oh, I forgot to offer you something to drink."
"I would like something sweet!" Rena didn't even hesitate, though her answer made Akira have to improvise.
"I'd just like some water, Akira-san." Kurono didn't think too much about that either, and actually he could use some water, he hadn't drunk much, but he needed it right now.
Hearing the orders, Akira headed to what appeared to be the kitchen, leaving Rena and Kurono alone once more.
"And what do you think, Kurono-san?" Kurono didn't understand what Rena meant by that question, and she realized that, so she kept talking. "Isn't Akira-nee cute?"
Kurono blinked a few times, clearly Rena was trying to annoy him, though… It wasn't something he couldn't answer either.
"I think Akira-san is quite a pretty woman, I can't deny that."
"I see... I'll make sure to tell mom what you just said." And with just those words, a great nervousness seized Kurono.
"Please, don't do it."
"Um, sorry, I didn't hear you right, Kurono-san." A somewhat dangerous smile had appeared on Rena's face, and it was actually because, for the first time, seemed like she had caught Kurono.
"What can I do to make us pretend that never happened?" Kurono directly started negotiating, but Rena had other ideas on her mind.
"Oh, I really don't need anything, so I can't forget what I heard, besides... I think it's a good card that I could use in the future." And with those words, Kurono fell silent as he knew he couldn't change that.
A slight sigh had come from Kurono, he was thinking of changing the topic of conversation with Rena, but just at that moment, both of them could hear how the front door was opened and some familiar voices could be heard coming from its direction.
"Oh, look who we have here." That voice came from one of the people who just arrived in the room once it saw Rena's figure.
"It's nice to see you, mother-in-law. I hope you're alright "Rena acted quickly getting up and bowing a little in greeting.
"Hahaha! Did your time in the city change you? Am I not going to get a welcome hug too?" Yes, that voice belonged to a slightly older woman, and from the way Rena referred to it, it was possibly Akio's mother.
Listening to her, Rena did exactly that, she came closer to open her arms and share that warm moment.
"I'm really glad to see you so healthy, and how is my little grandchild?" Akio's mother focused on Rena's belly at the same time as Rena giggled a little.
"Of course, it's in perfect condition, I already want it to be born."
"Trust me, dear. We're all impatient about it, you know…?"
"We want it to be a surprise, so we'll wait." Rena knew what she meant, but she spoke her thoughts.
It seemed that they would start a heated conversation, but right behind Akio's mother was the mother-and-daughter duo that Kurono already knew.
"Looks like you've been waiting a while, Kurono-san." Kyoko was the first to greet Kurono before turning to Rena as well.
Kurono had also greeted her at that time, but her gaze quickly turned to the last person in the room.
"Everything's fine?"

"You could say that, though I don't think I would be a good drinking partner for Ryo-san."

During her time with Shizune and Kyoko, they couldn't help but mention Kurono during their conversation between them, so besides her not having much trouble guessing, she was interested in Kurono out of simple curiosity.
"Maybe I don't need to introduce myself, but... Kurosawa Kurono, it's a pleasure." Kurono raised his hand in the direction of that woman in greeting.
"Tanaka Ayaka... Hmm... Now that I look at you, it seems that Shizune wasn't exaggerating, you really are a handsome boy, haha!" The woman by the name of Ayaka let out a loud laugh, she had also taken Kurono's hand to greet him, plus she felt Shizune's gaze strongly on her since she had told her earlier not to exaggerate.
Kurono waved her hand repeatedly and on top of that, he realized that perhaps it wasn't just Kyoko who nurtured Rena's teasing attitude…
