Chapter 9 - 9: The Offer

"Whew, good thing we found a cave.", I said in relief.

Well, searching for a shelter was the first thing to do and we got lucky and found a cave just before it started raining. And Nyx had me set up the entrance with some leaves and flowers that would hide our scents from the animals outside.

"Those will work, right?" I nervously asked.

"Yes, they will. So could you please shut up for a while." Nyx replied and that was rude!

"Hey, I know that you know your stuff and are almighty but we gotta cooperate to survive considering your situation and mine. I'm a normal human and you're injured. So how about we start by being nice to each other?" I answered while looking right at his face AND now that I said it, I was pretty nervous, I was sweating as shiet.

" Was I too hasty? ",I thought to myself, I felt nervous as he kept looking at me with those crimson red eyes of his.

" Hmph", Nyx scowled, looking away from me.

"Hmm? He didn't say anything? Well, I guess it's alright for now.", I thought.

"So what do we do now?", I asked him, politely.

"We wait for the rain to subside and then we go out." Nyx answered after a while looking outside at the gate of the cave.

"Yeah, that makes sense. We'll look for food and people for help. " I thought while hoping the rain to stop.

It did NOT stop and there wasn't any sign of it stopping, it just kept raining.

" The weather in the forest is really bad, huh. Is it normal here? To rain this much? " I asked Nyx.

" The forest has this type of weather. Unusual." he said while making fire out of his hand and lighting the branches of tree that I collected, just from outside the cave. I thought we would need them but realizing I didn't had anything to light them with, so I just left them around.

" Whoa! " I gasped while staring at him.

" So where you're from, there isn't anything like 𝑸𝒊, right." Nyx said.

" I don't know. There could be, I guess." I answered.

" How does it feel to be that powerful? I mean, how does it feel to be a, freakin' God! " I asked, excited.

*chuckes* "Hmmm. I think it does feel good. To be the most powerful person in the world." Nyx said with an arrogant voice but it did suit him.

I was amazed when he said that. My excitement went through the roof. I mean if someone is saying that they are the most powerful person in the world and they really are, what would you feel but excitement.

Suddenly Nyx turned serious and I was startled. I thought that something serious is coming and sat there quietly.

He spoke after staring at me for a while, I was nervous!

" You are a little stronger than most mortals, mentally. Like, you chose your own choice over someone else's, you prioritize your decision over others and stay true to yourself and your feelings. Much like me."

Huh?! Why is he saying all this?! I was confused, very much!

*sigh*

" I don't wanna say this but...
