Using the book given by the mysterious old man, Lance was engrossed in reading. He picked a book that looks like an encyclopedia and unfold it to view its contents.
"It looks like a list of animals but these animals look different and menacing than the animal species on earth". Lance surmised as he viewed.
" These creatures are no ordinary animals but they call them magical beasts. These beasts are divided based on their strength and rarity, especially the rarest beast which is the phoenix and the dragon. Even these rare beasts have different variants and are difficult to find".
There is also a chimera-type magical beast which is the offspring that resulted from cross-breeding among two different species. They are the most difficult beast to handle because of their unknown nature. As Lance read the book he was introduced to different information pertaining to the different characteristics and unique magical beast abilities. He also learned that each magical beast has a beast core. The beast's core size depends on the rank of the magical beast. As the magical beast survives for a long time, its rank rises as well as the size of the beast core. These beast cores are used by magical warriors and magic cultivators as supplementary materials for forging weapons and trading. This is why hunting magical beasts is famous especially for nomad adventurers with no affiliations from sects and academies. Lance learned more important information as he continued to read the magical beast encyclopedia. The most important part of the book tells about the different ranks that a magical beast possesses. The magical beast is divided into 9 main rank classes which are the Infant class, Premature class, mature class, behemoth class, guardian class, king class, emperor class, overlord class, holy beast class. Also, each of these ranks is subdivided into 10 levels. A magical beast must overcome each level in each class to evolve and rise in ranks, but for most beasts who have diluted bloodline or have an ordinary lineage rising through higher ranks is impossible. Unless an ordinary magical beast could devour a magical beast with a royal bloodline can it have a chance to evolve and rise to higher ranks? Knowing this important information, Lance memorized it in detail for it could help him in the near future. Next, after perusing the magical beast encyclopedia Lance picked another book and browse its content. He found out that this book is titled " Magical warrior manual". Reading the title Lance's interest was aroused. The book contained the basic practice and the different ranks a magical warrior could achieve. According to the book, Lance understood that magical warriors mostly prioritized body tempering, refinement, and magic energy manipulation to nurture each cell of the body. Through these magical warriors could manipulate their environment as a supplementary enhancer to strengthen their attacks. A magical warrior with earth-type magic energy could manipulate the earth present to form spikes with only a swing of their hand, the same goes for another magical warrior with different element affinities. As Lance digested the information in the book he now knew why those children he saw yesterday were doing some weird postures. Those postures are necessary to enhance magic manipulation inside the body and the magic energy in the environment could be easily attracted to temper the body outside. The magical warrior's strength and power are divided into 9 ranks which are the Beginner, Intermediate, master, Knight apprentice, magic knight, Superb, Saint, War Lord, War God. Each of these ranks was subdivided into three major classes. A magical warrior must level up from 1st class to 3rd class to rise in another rank. Though it is much difficult for magical warriors to level up in classes. A 3rd class beginner magical warrior is comparable to a level 1 premature class magical beast. Beginner magical warrior in 3rd class could blast energy shockwaves and could pulverize 100 kg of rock using a bare fist, which is terrifyingly possible. Lance shivered from what he had read. He imagined that if those children at that time were 3rd class beginner magical warriors maybe the rocks they hurl could puncture a hole in his body. Thinking those things he does not know what other plans and countermeasures he could apply considering that he would be living in the same village with those leveling and maturing monsters. What would he do? Live in the forest and try to isolate himself? For Lance that would be boring and lonely, then Lance signed totally depressed. 1 hour later he calmed himself down and placed those problems aside at the back of his mind, he picked another book and opened it to read the contents. There he found a shining letter written in unique calligraphy, the book was titled " Magic cultivation dynamics". Lance was immediately attracted by the shining letters.
" As already expected from a magic cultivation manual," Lance thought.
Browsing the book, he was then engrossed with the information contained within. As it turns out, magic cultivation is more difficult than becoming a magical warrior as magic cultivation is a practice that studies and intervenes in the laws of the universe. Magic cultivators have their main training priority of controlling magic energy and storing it in the heavenly chamber located in the dantian region. Once a magic cultivator is able to store at least one strand of magic energy inside its heavenly chamber. Through the knowledge of intervening in the laws, they can wield their magic energy to transform it into their own element affinity. Magic cultivators with more than one elemental affinity could even mix different types of elements to create powerful attacks and spells resulting in a more destructive arsenal. But having more than one elemental affinity also has its drawbacks. Magic cultivators with more than one element affinity have slow cultivation speed compared to magic cultivators with only one elemental affinity. Only prodigies and genius leveled as monsters could have a fast cultivation speed while having more than one elemental affinity could break the rule. Though these types of geniuses are rare and can only be found in one in thousands. Reading the book and knowing the information it contained, Lance was so envious of the possibilities of those children who have the aptitude to cultivate. According to the book, most people dreamed of becoming a magical cultivator because becoming a full pledge magic cultivator could increase their life span and live longer. Of course, becoming a magical warrior could lengthen the lifespan of a person as well but cultivating magic and controlling the laws holds more possibilities in acquiring long life and immortality. One big difference is that magical warriors could only touch the law of the universe when they are at superb rank while magic cultivators in the early stage could already study and detect the laws of the universe. Learning these things Lance was once more intrigued he flipped the next page and there he found the different stages of magic cultivation. In the book he found 5 stages of cultivation: the first stage is energy condensation, the second is pillar construction, the third is the core solidification, the fourth is the spiritual unification and the fifth is nascent transformation. Each of these stages is divided into 9 levels and each level is divided into early, early peak, mid, mid-peak, late, and late peak levels. A cultivator must cultivate to late peak level in order to advance to another stage and in order for a cultivator to advance to another stage a cultivator must advance to 9th level so that they could break through. Mesmerized by the information, Lance imagined what it would be like if he could cultivate. How much glory would he attain if he had this ability? Lance giggled excitedly. Suddenly reality strikes again, remembering that he himself had zero chance of becoming a magic cultivator. He feels depressed again and then smacks his own cheeks to remind himself not to dream anymore. But remembering the words of the old man and his own situation. Lance steeled his resolve to find a way no matter what. He bet everything, especially his pride, resolve, and safety to find a way to change his own life. Since the magic cultivation manual is incomplete, Lance had no choice but to train himself using the magical warrior manual. He wants to try and train to become a magical warrior. Hence he picked the book again and once more reexamined the procedures and the basic exercise.
