Chapter 20 - CHAPTER TWENTY: CAN I HOLD ON FOR A BIT LONGER?

"You have a soft voice that lured me out of my sleep." Jemmy said, trying to ease the tension. His hands moved softly on her back and she shivered. An electric current went through her spinal cord and for once her whole body felt lively.

"I miss my family people." She said as she held on tightly. She was afraid to let go, after all she's the one who thoughtlessly jumped on him and initiated the hug. "Can I hold on for a bit longer?" She murmured timidly.

Jemmy wanted to laugh at her funny self. His fingers ran in her long hair with wasn't combed. He held back the urge to run his hands all over her well curved body and test this heavenly feeling.

"Mmh." He nodded. Jemmy looked down at the girl who hid her face in his chest and smiled. Her whole face blushed and he could feel her hand mive slowly on his abs. His whole body tensed. She is seducing me? He thought. She was very timid when she talked and very childish when she thought she made a mistake. Just now she was playfully touching her abs. But as he was going to sink deep into the feeling, she stopped.

"Ummm..." She stammered and moved back, breaking loose from his grip. "Am sorry." She looked away shyly, walking to the window and looking outside. Jemmy swallowed hard.

"Meet me downstairs for breakfast." He said and then walked out. Naysa sighed as she looked at the closed door.

"What came over me?" She shook her head left and right. "Umm... "

THE PRESIDENT'S HOME

The president, Fin Campbell had just married a new wife just a month ago. The media had published the information but president Finn had not shown the face of his wife to the public. It's been six years since his legal wife, the Mather of Jace Campbell had died. Surprisingly, Jace recieved his new mother with much love and also, Clare Winters did not fail her new son but showered him with the love he missed in those six years.

Clare Winters descended the stairs and walked into the spacious living room where President Finn sat with a number of files, going through them. His close guard Kevin stood alert and waited for the next command.

"Sweetheart... You're here." President Finn gentle pulled Clare close to him. Shyly, Clare sat on his lap. She was beautiful and medium height. Her eyes were distant but very charming. She pressed her long fingers on her lap as she sighed.

"Not now." She smiled. President Finn looked at his guard Kevin who quickly ran out.

"What are the files for?" She rolled her eyes to the files.

"Political matters. Am studying the families which registered for the upcoming politics." He said. His son, Jace walked in but was embarrassed when he saw his parents' position. Clare jumped off the president's lap.

"Jase.. what is it?" President Finn was always soft towards his son. He asked softly.

"Dad... You wanted to get reinforcement from the military and expand your security grounds right?" Jace moved and sat opposite his dad. His hair was short and we'll combed. He was handsome in appearance and soft spoken in person.

"That's right. I send for a report form the military squad."president Finn replied.

"But why is that? I mean, such preparations?" Clare rolled her beautiful eyes and asked, pulling the files on her side.

"The upcoming politics will be tougher than expected. The families that registered for the presidential post aren't tough, but one family here is more threatening. The Grant's." He replied.

"But I haven't heard of the Grant's in politics." Clare was surprised.

"Mom, it's true the haven't officially stepped in,but the reports from the Caskeys say James Caskey had an encounter with one of the Garnts son who later declared that he would officially step in." Jace said.

"Ooh!" Clare curved her mouth, raising her eyebrows alittle.

"But I don't think if we're fighting that much for this seat. Anyone who wins fair and square, then..."Jace shrug his shoulders as he said.

"Stop talking this nonsense... We need this position!" President Finn was almost angry.

"Now dad, from the report, the most intelligent and most reliable military man the squad could refer us to was the late General Henry Haven. So far, the military office has never recorded such a hard working person other than him." Jace said.

"Talking of General Henry Haven, I think it's time the government compensated the family for the loss of such a national legend. "President Finn patted his wife who snorted and looked away.

"But dad... It's been almost twelve years since General Henry died, how will you explain that to the family? That will only mean the government and it's people are incompetent." Jace said.

"You don't understand anything, do as I say." President Finn said as he pulled his wife closer. Clare rested on his chest. Jace woke up from his seat and went out.
