I gave Maria my email and number as I promised to visit whenever I can. She pledged to call as agreeably possible. Carlyle was loitering meant he was about to bring trouble. This theory proved to be credible when he tried to sneak into Ashford manor. There was a Faberge Egg that was worth millions. He was trying to take it back to his grandpa's garage but the police arrived before he could. He came to yell at me after his uncle paid for the damages and he was given community service. I simply tapped his arm and he fell to the floor screaming. My gift was to inflict pains that either I or the person in question had experienced. This was one of his previous pains when he touched an electric socket and spasmed. I could have intensified it but I am not interested in making thing hard on myself or the others.

I arrived home to see graffiti on the wall. Mom and dad dismissed it but I didn't brush it off. These symbols were popping up every few paces. It was in Hobo code. The first looked like a kite with its string on the side. It means to hold your tongue. The second was a semi circle with a dot in the middle. That means police active or authorities are actively on duty. The next was a rectangle with a dot in the middle that means danger. The next was three lines leaning towards the right it means an unsafe area. The next was an arrowhead pointing down which means be ready to defend yourself. The last were two arrows one shorter than the other inside a circle pointing right it means to get out fast.
I have been practicing repulsion like I was instructed so here goes. I approached mom and cheerfully, "Mom! Can borrow some money I want to go to the drug store and buy some tampons." She gave me two hundred and asked me to come home safely. I happily promised and walked forward.
I changed my clothes in the bathroom and tucked my hoodie under my t-shirt. I gave mom my backpack and walked to a different exit. When the passengers poured out I made sure I was in the thick of it. I kept my head down so the cameras didn't catch me. The next challenge was when I reached the stairs. I quickly put on my hoodie as I walked those steps. I pulled up my hoodie and kept my head down. I saw a man drop his newspaper and I picked it up. I walked past three FBI agents who were there to take me the moment I returned. I leaned on the wall and pretended to read so I can hear what they were saying. They were talking about taking me to a black site where I will be tested vigorously. They were certain they had me pegged squarely. I won't have any excuses this time. I quietly fold the newspaper and walked towards the exit. When I reached the taxi stand I just walked to the nearest convenience store and bought tampons. Then called my boyfriend Kyle to pick me up. He arrived in ten minutes and that is unusual. Usually he would take an hour at least. But for some miraculous reason he showed up early. The ride out of the train station however was spotted by the Feds. The real test of my skills really began. I felt a roadblock up ahead so I had to warn him. I never told him I was a psychic but I had taught him by means of tapping and other things to get out of tight spots. Unused to pretend I was listening to Police radio, that made it. easy to practice. I roughly tapped his left shoulder twice. So he took the first right turn. I felt the Feds were behind me so I squeezed both my hands tightly on his shoulder and he accelerated the speed. On the main freeway I felt a car was following me so I pressed the tip of my shoe on his leg. He immediately slipped his way between the cars and got me out. I felt the helicopter above me was following me so I wrapped my arms around his waist. He immediately zipped around and drove to the nearest tunnels. The next hour was spent driving around in circles till one of the cars chasing us hit another car that took a wrong turn. We finally were able to find a different route and into a maintenance tunnel. We managed to get out without any problem. He was laughing that he had managed this and hugged me.
He and I contemplated how I was going to go home. They will be waiting for me and I have no idea what to do. So in the end we decided to go to his mom's place which is a place the Feds knew nothing about. On the way, I closed my eyes to imagine what my future home would look like. Then out of nowhere a car slammed into us. I went flying and so did Kyle. I hit the grass and passed out.

I woke up in the hospital and heard my parents and stepparents yelling at someone. I tried to get up but I was handcuffed. I just pulled out my bra and yanked the underwire. I was uncuffing myself when mom walked in. She shook her head and gave the cuffs back to the Agents and told them to leave. Dad's lawyer made it evident that unless they have concrete proof they better leave me alone. I asked for a lie detector test. It was arranged and I was placed in an MRI machine and asked several questions. After that I sat in a chair with wires on my fingers and a stupid cap on my head. There was a paper with a needle that swung back and forth. It drew a weird zig zag pattern. I answered their questions their satisfaction. My lawyer made it clear they have been given a bad tip. They were not pleased that they didn't get their psychic. I on the other hand was pleased that I managed to save the day. The balding FBI agent looked at me rage but said nothing. I decided to give my parents the slip and follow them. They stopped to talk to Kyle. He promised to prove I was the real McCoy. In exchange for his mother's early release from prison. I was so upset that I had an anxiety attack. I ended up wandering around. I had no clue how I ended up on the roof. When I came to my senses I was soaking wet. I looked around it was raining sleet. I was sitting on the ledge for some reason. I saw a car in the parking garage across the street from where I was sitting get struck by lightning. Then it hit an antenna on the next building, it detached and fell to the ground with a loud bang. I finally decided that it is safer if I back go indoors. One moment I was reaching for the door and I think I grabbed the handle. The next thing I know I was surrounded by this white, silver light. I saw the spectrum of colors that danced around me before fading into white followed by a deafening bang. There was pins and needles like sensation and just like that it faded. My left arm and both my legs were numb. I blacked out as the light surrounding me was sucked into a kind of vortex.
Mom shook me till I woke up. Dad was upset that I was found on the roof and was hit by lightning. He was furious with me ill I explain my predicament. Dad changed his mind and decided he should hate Kyle instead. He promised I will find better guy than him. He promised me that I will find someone I can trust and live happily ever after. He touched my arm and I saw myself elsewhere. I was transported to another time. There was the younger version of my mom in a room filled with filing cabinets. I was signing a document that proved I was about to adopt a baby girl. I turned to the mirror and saw it was my dad. He waited a few minutes and a young woman walked in with a baby girl. She said, "Her name is Adeline." I shook my head and replied, "From now on her name is Nancy" I held out my hand and the woman gave me the baby and the old clerk took a picture of the three of us with a polaroid camera. I accepted it and I turned to face the mirror. It was the reflection of my dad. I was pushed out of the vision. In my shocked I blurted, "I am adopted?" He looked at me with surprise, "How did you find out? We were going to tell you when you were older" I tried to come with an explanation but I decided that I will let it go. Mom on the other hand asked me if Auntie Jennie told me. I didn't want mom to turn me over to the Feds so I said I found the documents by accident. Dad relaxed and walked out to get dinner. Mom lowered her head, "I never wanted you to find out you were adopted. You were always different. I thought that if I kept it a secret things would get better" I touched her and I saw something that frightened me. I was taken to a memory of mom where she was angry and was driving like crazy. She was driving in Thunder Bay in Canada. She was hoping that she can disappear because she can't have children. She wanted to be a mom but unfortunately she couldn't. She saw a young woman with her baby and followed her out of jealousy. When the woman took her eyes off the baby girl she took the baby and came back to the hotel. She told dad that she found a baby outside an orphanage. She wanted to adopt this girl. Then the previous memory of my adoption came into view. I don't know how I managed to stay quiet after seeing that. But by some miracle I managed to keep quiet. I remember the date and place so it was easy. All I had to do was wait till I go out of the hospital and find my real mom. But I have to find her. I needed to find her. I wanted to know about myself and this was the only way. The doctor came in and gave me a sedative. I promised myself that I will go home to my real parents and soon.
The next day when I woke up I snuck out of the hospital. I borrowed clothes in one of the other rooms. I found an internet cafe that wasn't far away. I googled 'missing girl from Thunder Bay Area 2004' A few dozen pictures popped up. It took me a few minutes to find my picture. I had borrowed a pen from the nurse's station. I wrote my real name and the number of the police station on one of the paper napkins. Then I snuck back to the hospital and pretended that I went for a walk. Mom was upset but she didn't broach the subject further when the doctor said it is ok to go for me to take a walk to relieve my anxiety. I kept the paper hidden with further notes for the other me to know.

The fudge am I doing in the hospital? I felt around and found a note from Nancy. She got her gift and What the fish? I was kidnapped? Mom kidnapped me and lied to dad. She found my real name and where to start looking for my real parents. She had to wait till she was out of the hospital. So what I did was memorize the note. I stood over the toilet as I burned it. Then I flushed so mom won't find it. The next step was the hardest of all. Smiling at mom knowing she stole our life. I pretended to be nice till I was brought home. As always the FBI's van was parked outside. I knew they were trying to bust me. Nice try they won't be able to. I got out without them being the wiser and walked to the library where the librarian leaves her corner office unlocked for half an hour. I called the precinct from memory and a woman answered the phone on the fifth ring. I explained why I was calling and the woman started to cry. I told her where I was and why this phone call will be cut short. I explained what I knew and hung up. I asked that this situation be handled delicately. She assured me it will be handled with the utmost care. I went home thinking that I will see my mother by the end of next year. I mean Canada is a really big place. Finding my mom will take time. What I didn't know was that the officer I talked to was my real mother.
The next evening when I came downstairs for dinner. A police officer and a social worker were waiting for me along with a lawyer. I was asked to go with them and stepdad and dad protested. The officer had arrested mom. Stepdad wanted an explanation. Mom finally confessed that she kidnapped me. I was taken to the police station where a brunette in a suit was waiting for me. She requested a DNA test. Which proved I was her lost kid. The FBI tried to make some kind of agreement with mom to keep me here but I made a tantrum explaining that they have been harassing me for no reason. They have been invading my privacy for years. So she refused to listen to them. I was on the next plane to Vancouver.
