When we returned to the academy we found it a mess. Everywhere we looked, there were workers digging up the grounds and installing pipes. The principal was the second one to have indoor plumbing installed, and after his approval the deans were next. With experience came greater speed and efficiency, and now it was being extended to the teachers. Next would be the dining halls, then the student dorms, and finally the school buildings and library. Whether or not the slave pens would receive it was still being debated. Some argued that for the academy's prestige every facility should have it, while others argued that letting slaves enjoy it would make it seem too common and would harm its adoption among the elite.
