JACOB
I farted.
"Shhh!" Vivian admonished me.
"Sorry…"
I turned away from the sight of Vivian's nose cutely scrunched up in disgust and returned to my observation of the warehouse. My little sound threads were worming their way through, but it was difficult to get them where I wanted them without being able to see where I was going. I was progressing purely based on sound, without even much in the way of feel, and sound could be dimmed and distorted by obstructions.
"Take it easy. You know this always happens," one voice said. Finally, I found them.
"They could just fucking come on time, for fuck's sake," another one grumbled, and was answered with a snort.
"Their contacts aren't here yet," I told Vivian and Esmeralda.
"We know. My men are watching the place, remember?" Esmeralda replied.
"I'm going to enjoy this once we no longer need them," Vivian growled.
