While my emotions were in turmoil, my shout seemed to have brought Jacob back to his senses.
"I'm sorry", he mumbled. "Let me explain".
"No, I'll explain. You've done enough damage as it is", Rebecca interjected. She then turned to me.
I stared at her, hoping that she'd tell me Jacob was speaking nonsense. Being in another country, in another continent, even, was one thing. I could still have hope of making it home one day. This, however...
"I'm sorry, I don't know how to say it delicately either, but Jacob thinks that you came from a different world than this one, and I tend to agree", Rebecca said sorrowfully, dashing whatever hopes I had left.
