Chapter 56 - Basics

Even though I was a prisoner, it wasn't a bad situation. I was warm, I was being fed, and perhaps most importantly, I was being given a necessary education. So far my captor hadn't so much as laid a finger on me, not only figuratively, but literally. Even though I was his prisoner and it was within his power, he did not so much as accidentally brush against me, even when we sat side by side on the couch. I hoped that was due to his virtue, rather than a mere accident. The idea of being under a man's power was frightening, and brought to mind my experiences with Trevor.
