The Goblin City was not built with a particular name in mind, it's just called the Goblin City because goblins gather there. The city is located beside the most inhospitable place in the world known as the World's Edge. Further north of the city beyond the visible mountains is the Wasteland, a place where material and magical laws are in shambles. Terrains void of vitality, terrain void of mana, corrupted energy, spontaneous fractures in space-time, and mana storms. The only race capable of living in such inhospitable place are the dragons who boasts immense physical and magical resilience.
This place is on the north-eastern edge of the continent, and surrounding it are a few cities developed from the uncontested riches. They are far from any nation or similar authorities because of the infestation of monsters that no one wants to be responsible for, so it became a place to where hope is born and equally dies.
My destination this time is the center of the continent. I have been isolated for so long now that I have no idea of the continent's power dynamic, but the one race that has developed the most should be the humans. Unlike other races that picky with their living condition, the humans can live anywhere with food and shelter. That means the continent is dotted with numerous small human kingdoms and I have to get through a bunch of them to get where I want.
In such case, the identity of a wanderer helps a lot. Wanderers that doesn't wander does not exist. Their quirky behaviours are also established. Not to mention their position as otherworldly guests cements their affiliation under the Gods, even if they're officially free to choose their own. Religions has no border, and as emissaries of Gods, they can enter cities and cross borders without difficulty a citizen would usually face. In exchange, they have no citizenship and protection from the authorities.
Another problem is speed. For a normal person, traversing the continent in a straight line from one end to another would take 3 months. Taking into account road, elevation, detours and various other problems, it would take a year at least to reach my destination.
… If it was before, this would have be an unsolvable problem. But it's now an easy chore!
[Speed] [Accelerate] [Aerodynamic] [Reduce Weight] [Stamina] [Tailwind] [Agility] [Extreme Speed] [Supersonic] [Flash] [Wind's Blessing] [Nature's Blessing] …
I stacked blessings upon blessings on myself as I took off. A lot of which's effect overlap, but I don't care. It had been 700 hundred years since I've last casted a spell. Just where would you find a Sage that can't use magic?
Ohhh~, this nostalgic feeling, I'm going to cry.
'Stop that Gobuda. It's disgusting.'
"What? Lir? How did you get here?"
No, she did not tamper with the spell or added herself into it. Then she is somehow speaking directly into my consciousness and watching me as well.
Right, I forgot she was a Seer.
"Brat, you're actually watching me with your powers. Are you a stalker?"
'I'm not a brat nor a stalker. It's you Gobuda, that's an entertainer! I'm showing this to Ronia and Gea too!'
"Kid, stop wasting your power! Don't you feel strained using them? We are still recovering after all."
I tried coaxing her to stop. If this goes on, I will lose all my privacy!
'Nope, it feels great to be able to flex after so long!'
Dammit. I really want to terminate the link and hit her on the head right now.
'Watch out ahead!'
"What?"
I focus ahead only to see a darkness disappearing in an instant.
-Crack!!
…And a tree trunk exploding into splinters all around.
'You tree murderer! No wait, why are you fine after hitting a tree!?'
"Hm-hmm. Unlike the body of plebs, Lily is a bona-fide Demon King. Moreover, she is a slime known for their obscene durability!"
'Yeah, yeah, we're all plebs. Maybe except Gea who can tank a dragon's breath?'
Lir shot down my enthusiasm. Tch, she does not know the wonder of Lily I raised for 600 years.
In just 10 minutes I passed through the south forest which took Direwolves 2 hours to cross. With a clear view and no obstacles, I've decided to ramp up my speed.
-Speed
An incomprehensible voice escapes my lips. The power of [True Word] twists the laws of the world and accelerates my body to over 10 times faster than before. What was weird is the air resistance is non-existent, as if the entire space around me is moving forward.
[True Word]. The ability considered to be the apex of magic, mastered only by the Sages, and contains a backlash topped by forbidden spells only. It is said to be a power tailored for the Dragons for a reason. In my own goblin's body, I would have to augment my body with multiple layers of composite magic to protect my internals if I didn't want to spit blood for days. Luckily, Lily here is more resilient than most Dragons and hold even greater regenerative ability, I'm looking forward to spamming this skill that I never had the chance before!
'That's cheating!!'
"I love you, Lily!!"
'Purupuru?'
And a new legend was born in the World's Edge, about an unidentified being travelling at a speed that cannot be followed by eye, yet caused no disturbance on the ground or turbulence in the air. A ghostly entity that was only proven to exist by its mysterious voice whenever it passed by, a language that no one understood, but was later deciphered to be an ancient language of an extinct race.
