Kris lied on his stomach on the carpet of gym room totally exhausted. It wasn't anything new, whenever because of nightmares he couldn't sleep, he tends to exhaust himself to the point he can't get up next day. Sometimes, crying in shower, reading sad novels help him too, but for sleep, he prefers better idea of working out than eating pills that are harmful for body.
Brian enters the room with a bottle of iced water and put it near him. The bond they both share was totally different from the one they share with others. Since, they were one of first members of group and had most of the responsibilities, they both were inseparable like brothers. Both of them knew each of darkest secrets and have been a moral support to other when things have turned bad.
Brian slowly lowers himself beside him and sat down crossing the legs. He knows exactly what's going on his brain because it wasn't first time.
Brian knew Amanda only through the stories he shared during their training. She had long hair, had pointy nose, loads of anger and a sweet mouth. Before Kris could've introduced her to Brian, she vanished in thin air. They both searched her house, college, everywhere, but there was not even an evidence of that girl existing.
When Kris went berserk, only Brian understood and took few days off for both of them, delaying many important works of group and stayed with him in a small one room apartment Kris owned letting him drown in sorrows.
"It hurts brother." Kris have sensed Brian long ago but a lump in his throat was refraining him from speaking.
"I wish to see her again. My all years of hard work couldn't even bring me close to my only happiness. What should I do? I can't even give up." Kris said with his eyes locked on roof as if it's the most beautiful thing in world while speaking his thoughts.
"Cry if you want to. But I can't bear to see your broken state anymore. Its irritating."
Brian scoffs as he get on his feet.
"You always find ways to cheer me up."
"Get a wife." Brian said.
"You need someone desperately. I know some good girls if you want- "
"No brother. I won't be fair to her. I know sometimes urges are quite bad. But I know she's somewhere out there waiting for me, desperately." Kris said staring out of windows, to the moon.
"It's quite lonely to be a moon." Brian said.
"Being one of kind sometimes make you alone." Kris said understanding Brian.
"You got us till you find her."
"Yes. I got you." Kris said as they both walk out putting hand on each other's shoulder.
No words of encouragement or consolation shared, but they understand each other's thoughts.
