Chereads / The Adventurer's Guild Master / Chapter 3 - Preparations

Chapter 3 - Preparations

"Great of you to join us, Aysha." Teased Lux as he stared at the young witch who was pouting due to her friends not believing she could do it.

"I was on the way, and I was close to arriving." She said while staring at him and Kira, who had teleported her over.

"You were turning in a circle for the last ten minutes. Here, I have a map that shows where you walked." Said the young man as he shared the map with everyone, destroying any semblance of beliefs the silver-haired girl had in her sense of direction.

"Well, I'm here now. So what do we have to do?" Asked the witch with a mad but cute face before her face turned back into a smile as she was never someone who held grudges or was angry for very long.

"There's nothing much. I'll register the four of you to the guild in a moment. There's already a crowd forming. After all, we are famous." Said Lux as he explained his plan to his four friends. "I'll register you in front of the civilians, and they will surely pass the word, mouth to mouth. After all, anything related to the five of us will make news on this continent." Joked the young man.

"At that time, explorers and civilians will join the guild since it's a good way to make money and work properly while also having the right to brag that they are in the same guild as us, which will help spread the word." He finished explaining a basic but effective move that would bring significant attention to the guild.

"Well, I think it's time. People are already starting to enter since you left the doors open." Interrupted the elven woman as she showed the first floor to the group through the screen Hazel had made.

"Well, it's our time to shine." Commented the swordsman as he got up along with his friends and followed Lux, who made his way back to the first floor of the building and walked them to the counter.

"Good, Aysha, you come first." Said Lux as he was half afraid of the girl suddenly disappearing on them. It wouldn't be the first time they lost their friend while they were standing still.

"Name?" Started the young man as he wanted to show the civilians behind what was happening,

"Aisha." Replied the witch.

"Age?" "23 years old."

"Occupation?" "Healing mage." She concluded as Lux nodded as he received a prepared adventurer card with her name, age, occupation and rank S.

"What are the ranks?" Asked the group as they looked at Aysha's adventurer card.

"There are 11 ranks. From H to SSS rank. An adventurer gets a rank upon joining, and they can take missions of their respective ranks."

"H rank would be for the new adventurers, and the missions they can take would be herb collection, various civil work such as cleaning. Once they rank up to G, they can take weak monster-hunting tasks like killing goblins, slimes or wild boars.

An F rank adventurer is a full-time adventurer as they can take care of weak monsters reasonably quickly. An adventurer would raise rank due to the strength shown and the number of missions completed.

As for the strength, it would be a D-rank adventurer who would be the strongest in a village. A C-rank adventurer would be the strongest in a city. A B-rank is an adventurer known for their skills and strength in the capital. An A-rank is the top strength of a kingdom. An S-rank like you will be known as a kingdom-level adventurer or known as heroes, of which we are. A SS rank adventurer will be known as a continent-level adventurer as they can take care of threats that could destroy the entire continent. Finally is the SSS rank, known as world level adventurer, which would be me." He explained before finishing with a grin as he was indeed known and was the strongest in the world. He was invincible, and nothing in this world was more substantial or equal to him. It was known to many.

He was not only known as the invincible person in this kingdom. No, he had travelled to all the other continents during his years of exploring, and no one had ever come close to his level. He was the only one in the world who had ever conquered an ultimate grade dungeon.

"If we were to translate all this to the level of dungeons, what would it be?" Asked Kira as she wanted a comparison to the strength of the adventurer rank.

"A D rank adventurer can conquer the lowest-grade dungeon, which has a maximum of twenty floors. The low-grade, which has up to fifty floors, will need a large group of D rank adventurers and a C rank or a small group of C rank adventurers to conquer.

The middle-grade dungeon with 100 floors will require a large party of B-rank adventurers or a few A-rank adventurers. The high-grade dungeon that has 250 floors would need a large group of A rank along with at least five S ranks or a SS rank adventurer. Finally, an ultimate grade dungeon would require a large group of S rank adventurers with over ten SS ranks adventurers or a single SSS rank." Explained Lux seriously as it was important information.

"However, there is always some exception. For example, Keat, you have the strength of an S-rank adventurer like the others. However, it took you time and difficulty to destroy a middle-grade dungeon. It was in reality due to there being three dungeons of the same rank next to each other. As such, it depends on the circumstances, but the rank represents the strength that would be necessary to clear a dungeon or keep a village, city or capital safe." He concluded as his previous teammates nodded in understanding and approvement.

"Indeed, it seems right." Nodded Aysha, who was surprisingly not lost yet.

"Alright, now you three come here. I'll make your guild cards."

"Sure."

---

Five minutes later, the group all had their adventurer card and kept them in their pocket as he brought them to the terminals like ATMs.

"To get a mission, you leave the card on the board, and it will scan both the card and you to confirm you are indeed the owner of the card. Once done, all the mission ranks open to you will appear on display, and you can choose the mission you are interested in." He finished explaining while making sure the civilians behind were all hearing this correctly as they were going to make the publicity.

"Hum, pretty useful. A lot better than when we were going on as explorers." Commented Keat as he remembered the time they worked as explorers. They would have to volunteer to work for a noble on an expedition, and even then, they wouldn't pay much as there wasn't any surveillance, and they didn't have any backers except for their mighty strength.

"Yeah, at least as adventurers, you're sure to get your money as long as you complete the job. After all, the requester of the mission pays the guild in advance for it to act as an intermediary between the contractor and the adventurer for a small cost which is to keep the adventurer guild running and paying salaries." Added Kira as she knew the best words to say to stir the crowd.

"Now, you only need to get some girls to work behind the counter, waitresses, cooks and a few shop attendants." Concluded Ewan as he played a bit with his adventurer's card and looked at the crowd, who were listening attentively while some were outright excited to meet the five of them.

"Yeah, but it's not as if it's urgent. However, I'll try to have everyone hired by the end of the week."

"Well, let's go back upstairs. You can open officially tomorrow. It's been a while since we all gathered together like this." Said Aysha as she walked towards the stairs leading to the second floor, quickly followed by the others.

As for the civilians who had been listening to them and taking in the scenery of the adventurer's guildhall, they smartly left the building, pulling the few who wanted to go to the second floor to continue listening in to the legendary group of explorers.

"So, what do you plan to do from now on?" Asked Lux as he hoped his friends wouldn't leave so early this time. Over the years, he had made many friends. However, the closest to him were those four.

"Well, I'll be working as a medic, so I'll be staying here. I still need to buy a house somewhere." Chimed Aysha as she put both of her elbows on the table.

"I think I can talk for us three when I say we'll be relocating here." Said Kira as she was enjoying the atmosphere as it brought back countless memories of their time together.

"Yeah, most missions will pass by the guild from now on anyway, and there are certainly dungeons to clear over here as well." Agreed Keat as he liked the idea of the adventurer's guild.

"Well, you'll need us to complete the missions the new adventurers won't be able to complete, so I'll stay as well. I'll send a message to my acquaintances to have them join the guild." Agreed, Ewan, as he also liked the place.

"Great!" Smiled Lux while relaxing slightly.
