Hakeem
"Do you think I'm cute??,"
"Yeah.."
"Nahh, that's just gay fever, you need some alcohol in your system…" I said, before face palming in mentally.
What the fuck did I even mean by gay fever!!! I already knew I was attracted to males and very little to none to females or maybe I haven't met her yet.
"I don't need alcohol to speak my mind Hakeem and you don't need alcohol to deal with me, just tell me," He said, turning around on the couch facing me as I headed to my fridge.
"Can I come help you get the alcohol?" He asked in a suggestive tone and I snapped my neck back so fast to look at him, he looked innocent…so manly, innocent and his eyes were still a little red and his hands were moving pretty fast. The sugar was finally kicking in and he was about to make it my problem.
"Uhm..No, sit there and let me bring it to you, I don't want you—"
My whole body stiffened. My nerves spiked so high and my whole senses were at a high alert and the glass in my hands almost fell off but somehow managed to save them before it made a dramatic landing and injured any of us.
How did he get behind me so fast?
His scent was everywhere around me and his breath was fanning my neck, erupting goosebumps that caused ripples through my skin. I never caught his scent. It was still frightening that I still didn't make sense of it, I could move that fast towards me and I didn't detect it. Humans weren't supposed to move that fast and even if they managed to move that fast which is impossible by the way, I still would have had a whiff of his scent before he got this close. Instead, he used the few seconds I used to open the fridge to come behind me.
The heat from his body was becoming effective as I started to feel it slip through the fabrics of my clothes that I was still wearing from earlier today.
There was something about his scent I couldn't describe, it was almost foreigm yet very very familiar like I have taken it in for years on end while I only got to know him a few days ago.
"You smell really nice.." His husky voice made my stomach churn from a foreign feeling I wasn't ready to acknowledge yet. I took some time to gather myself before I finally replied. I don't get caught off guard, if my sister was here, she would have smacked the living shit out of my skull.
Nothing should catch you unaware…nothing.
"You do too but don't you think you are a little too close?" I said in a nice suggestive tone hoping he would get it but he just gave a deep chuckle instead before bending down to place his nose on my neck and inhaling.
My area south, which has been inert for years, started to get tight all of a sudden and it took everything in me not to drop the glass this time. He was definitely heading somewhere with all this, taunting me this way after finding everything I did wrong or just finding my presence a reason to hate life.
"Vanilla and some Oud with lake water??" He asked, I snapped my head in his direction forgetting the man was standing directly behind me and it took me time before I realized I would be staring directly into his eyes if I turned around and it was a very bad idea because every reaction I was getting plus the increased heart rate got worse.
His amber eyes held mine communicating wordless thoughts in my head and all O could do was stare.
How did someone know the scent of a lake perfectly? It wasn't even a scent that some people knew existed.
"You can smell lake water??" I asked and he chuckled before nodding before stepping back, giving me some space to breathe for once, a space that was very much needed because he was incredibly close and I found breathing problems because of it.
"I grew by the lake. With all the privileges there you might think it was fun but it wasn't. I hated it because it made me itch like crazy. I tried to get over it or use treatment but it just wasn't enough and I stopped trying anymore. But somehow you made it work and made it smell very suitable." He said before moving further away from me and back to the neck of the couch where he placed his butt.
"Okay…that's cool." I said dropping the alcohol back into the fridge, we already have enough mess, adding alcohol into the mix was just going to make this a huge mess.
"What about you or are you still making sure to stay as anonymous as possible??" He asked, smirking with his eyes kind of closed and I had to admit that It was hot. He was hot and that was it but I'm not quick to forget that he was a total dickward towards me, he literally knew that yet he had the effrontery to come here. The initial fatigue I was feeling faded away due to this present problem that didn't look like it was going away soon.
"Yeah, I think I might hold on to the mysterious guy card for a bit. Now, why did you come here??" I got closer to him this time. I couldn't smell anything on him except the weird mint scent he had around him and that was it. There was nothing more and I think that itself definitely made me uncomfortable.
"I don't know…I just found myself knocking on your door. I didn't even fully realize it was your door until You got the doors and I saw you, then I realized that I was at your apartment." He said looking around.
"Yeah right. If you came here to find some dirt on me so that I don't get on the band, sorry to break it to you but you wouldn't be finding anything because I'm not the reason why you just can't stand me. Earlier today, you gave me shit and I took it like a mature fellow, now you are in MY apartment, you do anything shit related and I'm kicking you out…hey you know what? I should actually kick you out for no goddamn reason since you saw it cool to treat me like shit like I was your actual life problem," I crossed my hands looking at the door then to him. He followed my eyes to the door, when it came back to me, there was hurt in his eyes before he blinked it away and I adjusted on my feet realizing he was actually being genuine.
"Do you want to actually kick me out of your apartment?? Just be honest. If you really want me to leave, I would do just that. I understand I came here unannounced and it was wrong and I shouldn't have done that. So again if you want me to leave, I can do that for you and leave." He said with a low voice.
"I do honestly want you to leave because I don't believe you appeared at my door just like that for no goddamn reason because we didn't exact get along just few hours ago and all of a sudden you find yourself at my apartment and you expect me to also follow you up that You were shocked and it just happened and you found yourself here huh.." I let out an empty laughter before looking away.
"I don't believe you man and I think you should with all due respect leave before the paparazzi show up at my place asking stupid questions and pinninh something up. Yes and if you ever feel the need to just pop up at an almost stranger's house, please do well to call, that's simple courtesy, an attribute I don't think you possess but that's okay, not everyone does especially someone of your status." I reminded him once again of who he was before he blinked multiple times. If my eyes weren't hurting from fatigue, I could have sworn that his eyes let out a little moisture that was caused by a trigger flow of emotions.
He looked at me for a few seconds before smiling weirdly.
"I apologize for the inconvenience Mr Solivan. I clearly make you uncomfortable so I would do well to leave." He sounded more like himself and the weird accent he was having before was nowhere to be seen.
"Can I take this cap and hat along??" He asked politely and I nodded. He opened the door to exit my apartment before he stopped half way through. He seemed to be contemplating saying something before letting out a breath.
"I meant it when I said I don't know how I got here…something drew me to you."
