The giant stand in front of them, the stick that required Vaterian to used all his strength to move was held in its left hand. A huge scar running across its eye could be seen on the monster's face.
Vaterian backed off, he took a step backwards and looked at Igor, who pulled out his sword and held his stance. Vaterian grinned, he pulled out his sword despite it seeming useless against the giant.
"Waghhh!" The monster roared and charged towards Igor, the huge sound forced Igor to close his ear with his hands and unable to respond to the monster attack.
Vaterian noticed it, he jumped toward Igor and rammed him away from the charge, a bit of blood flowed out from his ears and he heard nothing but ringing in his ear, that's the price for not protecting it, but at least they were safe. For now.
"Stuff something in your ear!" Vaterian shouted toward Igor and stood back up, the cloak he wrapped around his head might just save him from completely losing his ability to hear.
The monster attempted to use the same trick against the teenagers, but before it was able to do that, its belly start creeping on its own. The giant was unable to stand such pain and kneel down. It swung the stick blindly with its left hand while using the other as a support so it won't fall down.
The teenagers used this as an opportunity to make their preparation, putting cloth into their ear and making sure all their weapon was in check, but soon they saw something they will never forget.
"Wag..Waghhh!!!" The giant stopped swinging the log and roar in a higher volume than before, his belly creeps harder and finally broke apart, a smaller of it crawled out from its belly and stood up. The belly started to connect back by itself afterwards.
"Scheisse! That was such a disgusting way to give birth." Looking at the guts and intestines falling on the ground and quickly being picked and eaten by the minions, Vaterian swore.
"I hope I will face against a dragon like Saint Patrick did, rather than this thing." Igor agreed to Vaterian, he was also not satisfied by what he saw.
The monster's belly was still huge as a bag filled with flour even after spilling so many things out from it, it might still producing a new life within it.
The giant stood up and ran straight to Vaterian, it didn't do its signature roar but just swung the huge logs toward Vaterian.
Vaterian kneeled down and jumped to the side, barely able to avoid this strike, the wind ran across his face and tore some of his hair away from him.
"Igor!" Shouted Vaterian, Igor quickly moved away from Vaterian to the other side of the giant, but before he was able to do anything against the giant, its minion jumped on him and try to strangle him with their tongues.
They try to pierce their straw-liked tongue into Igor's neck and suck his blood from it, but were blocked by the chainmail hidden underneath.
Igor felt the saliva of these creatures was soaked in his cloth and the smell of it was destroying his nose. He quickly cut off their tongue with his sword and shook some of them away.
"Wagh!" The giant saw this as an opportunity, it strikes Igor with the log while his hand was swinging from the other sides preventing Igor from dodging.
As the situation looked bad for Igor, but an axe sliced through the air and struck the giant's wrist, forcing it to change its trails.
After seeing such development, Igor choose to point his sword toward the giant's hand, relaxed his body and flew away in the same direction.
"Wa…Waghh!" The sword thrust deep into its palm and was pulled out by Igor as he was being slapped away from his original position.
"Shit! That hurts." Igor fell on the rocky ground, but luckily the layer of moss provide him a soft landing area.
The monster breathed heavily, the injury delt by Igor did nothing but enraged him. The giant holding his injured hand tightly, after couple seconds, the injury was disappeared as it never existed.
"I swear if those ladies knew this kind of ability existed they would catch this thing faster than we kill it." Igor stood back up and swore.
The giant noticed where Igor was, and attempt to hit him. Its minion seems to sense the thought of their master and rushed toward Igor and delayed his movement at all cost.
With his sword in one hand and dagger at another, Igor successfully stopped most of the minions from jumping on him. It was not an ideal way to use a long sword, but it was a better way to fight against the creature that can pierce through your defence easily.
Those who jumped on Igor hook their boney finger into Igor's chainmail, but soon their finger was cut off by the precision-cut on their knuckle done by Igor.
Despite stopping those minions successfully, Igor was unable to react to the greater threat, the attack from the giant. The giant ran through the rocky surface and held the log with both of his hands, it was certain anyone who get hit by it would be far from alive.
However, the monster failed to realize Vaterian was still on the battlefield, he swung his sword across the ankles of the giant. As the sound of the tendons being ripped apart echoes in the caves, the monster fell down in front of Igor.
Igor responded to this situation quickly, he hold his sword with one hand at the blade* and thrust it toward the eye of the giant.
"Waghh!" However, the giant seemed to have already expected it and did something unexpected. Its tongue was shot out from its mouth and stopped Igor's action by binding him.
"You filthy monster! I care about my personal hygiene!" Igor quickly cut the tongue off with his dagger, but the chance slipped away from their palms. Vaterian was now the one being focused by the giant, he pulled his sword out of one of the minion's eyes, some brain fluid still stick to it but quickly being shaken off by the teenager.
Igor looked at Vaterian, who gave him a nod as a reply. He decided to clean up these minions before attempting an advance against the giant. He quickly rushed toward those minions and began the slaughter.
The minions despite performing well in a narrow place, failed to do significant damage against the teenagers in an open field, their attack was easy to dodge for a well-trained warrior. They might have a superior strength but they failed to utilize it, just as their master.
"Waghh!" The giant roared and charged toward Vaterian, its weapon, hand and tongue could cover a large area but failed to connect any of them. Vaterian slide to the side and stopped his movement with his hand, as the giant hit the ground, a blink of silver cut through its neck.
It was a terrible choice for Valerian, he undermined the thickness of the bone and the sword was stuck on it.
Vaterian quickly loosen his grip on the sword and ran away from the giant. As he expected, the giant took this chance and chased him recklessly.
Vaterian looked around and seek for any way to get out of this situation. In a brief moment, he saw a huge stalactite hanging on top of the cave.
Vaterian quickly took out a pistol and lighted up the fuze, a weapon being brought back by the Hellandic mercenaries who served in the thirty years war happened at the Karpathian empire, it still remained unknown or unfamiliar for most of the population, but because of its portable size and destructive power, it was very popular among traveller.
"Pam!" A sound of thunder echoed in the space, followed by the fall of the stalactite. The boulder fell heavily on top of the giant and knocked it to the ground, Vaterian quickly pulled his sword out from the neck of the monster and pierced its eye with the tip of the sword.
"Be careful Vati!" Vaterian heard Igor shouting at him, but before he was able to respond to it, he was knocked away by an arm. The giant stood back up and looked more enraged than before, its eyes were still there. Obviously, Vaterian was unable to damage the monster before being hit.
Vaterian slipped down from the wall of the cave, he could feel some of his ribs was broken, but it was the most ideal situation he could be in.
The teenagers gazed through the caves, the bodies of those minions were everywhere, the stink was replaced by the metallic smell of blood. The giant was also been dyed in red, even though most of them was from itself, it didn't seem to matter to it.
The heart of the teenagers was racing faster than before, they need to find a way to end this fight before they ran out of stamina.
