The frightened man looked at Vaterian, the Teenager didn't say anything but smiled toward him, the pressure was given even no real action had been done by the boy. "I barely know about him… please…spare my life."
"Fine, what a pitiful lie. I thought you can get some essence of wisdom from the hole I just created, but I feel like you may need some water to clear up your mind." Vaterian was extremely unpleasant about the man. Surely, he gave the wrong answer.
"Lucky for you, there's a bucket here. Seems like the owner had halted his cleaning process for some reason, but anyway that's meant I didn't need to run around to find you clean water, I just hope you didn't mind the water being sat in here for a couple of days and used for cleaning." Vaterian looked at the bucket of water near the corner, it's grey and an awful smell come out from it, not something you would even put your hand on it.
Vaterian bring the bucket in front of the man, the man turned his head around trying to stay away from the awful smelling water. "Don't turn your head around, I believe you like it, isn't it? Just smell just like the countless rotten body you created." Vaterian dragged the man's face and turned it around, he pushed the man's face downward, closer to the bucket until the man's nose touch the water.
"Do you have the feeling of some words is about to come out from your mouth, if that was the case, I would glad to hear it." Vaterian keep maintaining the pressure on the man's head, making sure he stayed in place. "I…" The man tried to say something, but before he had the chance to say it, Vaterian pushed him into the water.
The water was flooded into the man's mouth as he just opened it, he tried to force the water out by exhaling the air, but he realized it was just suicidal if he did it. The water was flowing inside both his nose and mouth, the tiny particle within the water scratching his nasal, causing him to cough. "Ugh" Vaterian heard the cough underneath the water, the water spilling all over his cloth and floor as it being splashed out.
Vaterian quickly back up, staying away from the man, thus letting go of him. "Disgusting behaviour better found a dog handler for you." He felt disgusted by the water spilling on him. Fortunately, he was wearing his cloak which he could just take off.
The man raised his head and took a huge breath, his mind was filled with nothing but the thought to survive. "I would tell you everything I know! Just leave me alone after this!" The man was frightened as soon as the boy try to press his head down again, he begged for mercy from the boy.
"It would be amazing if you show compliance since the beginning, so I could be gentler to you like my friend did to the owner." Vaterian showed his disappointment in that guy, he thought the man could be a bit tougher, so he could gain more entertainment out of the man.
Vaterian took another chair and sat in front of the man, the previous chair had spilt with dirty water and smelled atrocious. "Tell me what you got in your mind; I would listen to it silently." Vaterian requested the man to tell his story, Vaterian's symbolic smile still hanging on his face, the man knew if he told something untrue and was noticed, the smile will be gone instantly.
"I come from Karchidon, by the order of the Stadhalter, bring the merchant family back to where they belong." The man gave the information to Vaterian. "It seems like Stefan is the one who stands behind you guys, didn't expect such a noble person would do something so disgusting." Suddenly, Vaterian turned around and punch the man on his belly.
"Is that the thing you want to hear from me? You thought I'm an Idiot and can't differentiate between the truth and the false? If the Stadthalter was the one who guided all those things, he can just lock everybody up in the cellar! I bet you never thought to be caught so you never planned for the lie!" Vaterian yell at the man showing his impatience.
Vaterian pulled out his dagger, which was given back by Igor previously and stabbed into the man's thigh, the man didn't shout or scream but take the pain. As he knew is impossible to lie in front of this kid, he admits.
"I came from Karchidon, member of the [Horror Story]. Taken the order from the bar and come here to fulfil my duty, those cab-rank rules ruin my life, should just take my leave that day." The man swearing about his luck, who will expect a simple task can lead to one's death.
"Well, if that is how your organisation worked, your death will be inevitable, one day you will meet someone you can't handle. I was just surprised how would any organisation didn't give their assassin some poison just for safety, told me more about it. You could walk out from this building if you gave me more information's." Vaterian was sure that the man was telling the truth, he asked for more.
"The [Horror Story] was a large organisation, to be honest, it was an open secret, that is led by the protectorate from Carpathian Empire as a tool to control the city, but not a lot know about what exactly they are." The man describes the organisation he belongs to, but he gave only a blurry image about it.
"The protectorate, If I am not mistaken it was the brother of the Emperor, Ladislaus Corvinus Hunyadi. It won't give me much a surprise that those cowards who live on the Thracian Island would follow the order of the Empire blindly when the blade of empire just stays right beside them."
Vaterian memorized the name of the protectorate, although the protectorate didn't hold real power to influence the politic in Karchidon, but seems like the emperor was kind enough to grant him other power to rule.
"Seems like you had a good understanding of the Imperial politics. I had been living in Karchidon for years but still yet to understand it, I wonder who you are?" The man asked his question, seems like he has forgotten his current position.
"My identity was none of your trouble, I hope you realized you are the one who is being strapped there, I might need some information from you, but you're not the only one who can give me what I wanted." The man didn't suffer pain this time, Vaterian go around him and whisper to him.
"My next station was Karchidon, I will send the message to your wife. I saw the wedding ring you hide in your pocket, poesy style, I like your taste. It won't be tough for me to find its pair though, most of them was made unique."
The man felt a cold breeze climbed up from his spine, he knew what the teenager said was true. "I beg you! Don't do any thing to my wife, she knew nothing about my work. I just one of the lower rank workers! And had no idea about the higher ranked person, I just take my job from my senior! He was the one who gave us the job, I had no choice but accept!"
The man begged for Vaterian's mercy; his pale face shown how desperate he was. "What was the name of your senior?" Vaterian asked "Kiefer! His name was Kiefer Schneider!"
"Nice, your wife received my mercy, but you need to pay for what you did. You're the first person dare to treat me like a fool." The man closed his eye, he already foreseen his death since he gets caught, he might try to fool and hide the truth, but it's his responsibility to keep his wife safe.
"Mors Vincit Omnia, My friend, Vade in pace. You might not a good person but at least you're a good husband. Better than the owner." Vaterian memory being brought back to the basement, where he saw a skeleton with a wedding ring on her finger.
"Mors Vincit Omnia." The man closed his eye, after he heard the word from the teenager, he knew his wife would be safe. A sword went through his heart, his life was ended in a blink.
