After completing all his work, Vaterian walked to the room next to him. When he was about to knock on the door, it opened from inside by another person.
"How is your 'Interview' going? I doubt the man would survive, you never let any threat go out alive." Igor asked about the progress Vaterian made once he stepped into the room. "I more interested in how you know I was coming here. I don't think I informed you before?"
"I would like to inform you that I had a pair of ears, I had no problem hearing all the things happen in your room." Igor tried to remind Vaterian that he was not staying in some high-class building that allowed him to talk loud without being heard by others.
"Then I think you probably already knew what the man said, I might take my leave and enjoy my time, farewell." "Hey! I'm not a bunny either! I might hear how you torture him, but I couldn't hear everything, tell me what you gain from him." Vaterian mocked Igor over this issue, Igor fight back against it although it was rather weak.
"The guys gave me some information, they came from a secret society called [Horror Story]. Behind it was the brother of the Carpathian emperor, he was the head of the organization. However, I doubt he actually had any control over the society, the Imperial politic was cruel and chaotic, the emperor must have appointed someone else to handle it." Vaterian speak about what he knew, but also his opinion.
"So, who you think would be the actual person who handles the society? We need to sort the problem, otherwise, they will just keep coming in." Igor brought out his worries about this issue, he was not willing to have such a lot of trouble in his life.
"Luckily the man gave us the name before he stopped his breath, Kiefer Schneider. He was the senior of that man; he might know more about the secret hiding behind. Unfortunately, we could do nothing before we arrive at Karchidon, but stopping the chase would be far easier than ripping them off." Vaterian gave the information about the senior to Igor, which made him a bit confused.
"So, would you try to have contact with that guy? I would be dangerous though, he not a guy that never touches his blade." Igor worried about the danger of having some 'friendly conversation with the senior.
"What make you think I would use violence in every situation? I don't really mind getting my hand dirty to reach my goal, mister knight." Vaterian mocked Igor over his spirit of chivalry.
"You wanted to have appeasement with a serial killer? I told you, I would never participate in this shit!" Igor yelled at Vaterian, he can't accept working with someone who killed the others for a living.
"Then just don't participate." Vaterian stopped the argument with a rejection, telling Igor he had made his decision, he hold the ring he had taken from the man. Might be better to let Igor stay away from this issue.
"So, what you gain from this guy?" Vaterian pointed at the owner, asked about the information gained from him. "He didn't know about those men, he was just being paid by them and worked for them. However, it seems he is not doing this thing for the first time." Said Igor.
It seems the owner kept his promise to Vaterian by not telling the truth to Igor. Otherwise, he would be dead instantly under Igor's sword. Vaterian wouldn't like it to happen, they still need someone to take care of their living here.
"I think it was the time for us to go back and meet with mister de Montferrat, we still need to inform our client about the plan, Miss de Montferrat should already tell him about the situation." Vaterian dragged the topic away from the man, he wanted to meet mister De Montferrat instead of staying here wasting time over their principle.
"Fine, you are the leader anyways, you can make your decision and chose to avoid questioning." Igor was not happy about Vaterian's response, he knew Vaterian hiding something from him, but he could do nothing, he stepped out of the room and walked straight back to the top floor.
Vaterian looked around and starred at the owner, he loosens the knot and said to him. "Seems like you chose to follow my instructions, nice choice indeed. Otherwise, your life will fade away as I told you so."
"Thank you Miseur, but he will find out the truth soon, how can I survive at that time?" The owner panicked and questioned Vaterian. "That's not your business Mister, I will handle him, you just need to take care of the rest of the time we spent here."
Vaterian walked out of the room and leave the owner behind, ignoring the cry from the owner.
Once Vaterian arrived at the room where the de Montferrat stayed, Igor was standing beside Mister de Montferrat, leaning on the wall. Obviously, he informed the Montferrat about the arrival of Vaterian.
"I'm neither a king nor the emperor, you guys don't need to wait for my arrival." Vaterian said to Valenciano.
"How was the day going, Mister?" Vaterian instantly realized what silly question he asked, Igor started to laugh once he heard it.
"Not a bad day if the Mobs don't strap me with ropes and feed me those awful pie with stone crust, I threw away the curst secretly when I asked to go for the toilet. They treated me pretty well, at least let me go around within this floor under their eyes, it would be better if they not knocking me out before Viridiana arrived."
"You supposed to throw the curst away sir, it only existed to keep the filling warm. The crust was hard enough to crack your teeth. Even after dropping from the top floor, it still maintained its shape when I saw it on the ground." Vaterian explained to Valenciano about the pastry, the awkwardness was quickly swept away.
"Viridiana, you go to take care of the member of the caravan, I need to have a small talk with Mister Alexandro," Valenciano ordered Viridiana to leave the room. He stared at Igor, waiting for his action.
"He didn't need to leave; he had the right to listen to our conversation," Vaterian told Valenciano about Igor's privilege's, Valenciano smiled. "It seems like he is your servant, normal people won't think about letting their friend leave the room. They might just ask me why I was staring at him."
Vaterian was stunned for a while, soon he realized the man in front of him knew he was lying to Viridiana. "How did you realize it, Mister de Montferrat? I think I already am very careful on this thing."
"I'm not my daughter, she was still young and naïve. She didn't think about how did a university student can wield his sword in such a fashion, unless he come from a noble family. However, what made me sure about your background was your sword, not anyone can afford a Damascus sword, the last time I saw such a well-made sword was from the previous Grand Duke and his vassals 8 years ago. I sure nothing much had changed since then."
"Your servant was also very bad at acting, he informed us about your arrival instead of coming with you, that's not how a normal friend would do," Valenciano explained how he predicted the truth, he showed what an experienced man could do.
"Not expecting my sword would sell me out. Yes, I come from a noble family, my full name was Alexandro Papagos. He was my servant, Einhaven, but neither he nor me like that relationship, it would be better if you treat us equally." Vaterian still chose to lie about his background, he also warned Valenciano to treat them equally, he also did not blame Igor for revealing the truth.
"I see, you chose to hide your identity anyway, I will respect your choice, but you better think how would other's opinion on you if you keep lying to them."
"I already expected that sir, but I don't care about it, all I could say was keep this a secret and I would ensure you and the rest be safe for the whole journey."
Valenciano laughed, he was surprised by the amount of self-confidence this boy had. "How would you keep us safe? You need a reliable plan to convince me, not just with physical strength. If pure violence can solve this issue, I could just employ those Landsknecht instead. Those mercenaries would be willing to do everything just for some money."
"I had a complete plan to root out the problem, I afraid that those mercenaries wont able to come out of a plan." Vaterian replied to Valenciano, he had prepared for this question.
"Sure, just told me about it. I would make sure to listen for every word you said, the possibility of the plan would impacted my decision, I hope you knew about that."
