The night was short in the view of the kids as well for Mira too. Everyone was so tired. When Lok woke up, without making a scene he left the house. He wanted to go out to search for a magical beast to prepare something extra for the next lesson for the kids.
When Mira woke up, Lok was already gone. She got dressed and checked the kids, they're still asleep. She left the house and went into the village. A bit later she came back and got the kids up. As per the schedule of their days, they had breakfast, then moved out for practising.
- Winter will arrive soon ... We can't practice outdoors soon.
Mira sighed as she felt the chilly breeze stroked her face. Mira tried anything for them, but nothing happened about Riox and Ayla's growth. As she mentioned, they have a special body she can't even explain. As the time passed and the practicing came to an end, Ayla left the house to spend her time with the other children as she always did.
- Riox, can you come with me? I have something for you!
He followed her without giving any answer. They walked into the center of the village, passed by the workshops Riox saw yesterday.
*Why does she bring me here? I didn't want to come back here. Those memories that showed up before were very unpleasant.*
Riox slowly understood they walked toward the building of the blacksmith he stood yesterday. The old geezer just sat on a little, worn-out stool and he puffed on his pipe.
*What are you planning to do with him?! Auntie! Have mercy on me!*
Riox screamed in his mind, afraid what would happen when the old man saw him again. But for a surprise, he waved his hand to Mira.
- Hey, Mira. How yo' doin' today?
- Fine, thanks!
- And who is that brat behind you? Ah, I remember, he told me some funny shit yeste'day! Hahaha!
The heard words made Mira a bit uptight, and gave out a little dangerous feeling. As she talked back to the smith, her voice drastically changed to a fearful one.
- Mr. Dreng! I have something for you.
Mira raised her hand as she was ready to slap the old man, but she moved instead of it next to her side to point at Riox.
- He's interested in smithing. Can you show him a few things?
- Ahh, sure ... I will ... !
The old man's blood pressure nearly touched the sky. He sighed a really big one to chill himself.
- Then, see you later, Riox! Have a nice time!
And Mira said goodbye as she left the smith, let alone Riox with the geezer. Dreng, the old blacksmith, just looked at Riox with a dour gaze. He put down his pipe and walked inside the workshop. With a lot of noise it sounded as if he was searching for something. After some minutes, he came back and threw a book to Riox.
- You interested in smithin', ha? Read the first 12 pages about the ores. The other parts of the book are just shit! Lot of 'smarty' alchemists sat down around a table and discoursed the properties of the materials ... such a load of bullshit! Did you see it? How do you refine the meteorite iron for ALCHEMY? How the fuck write that shit into an instruction book for forgery and smithing?!
*So you are worked up because of this? This is funny. Let's see what information this book is hiding ...*
Riox sat down on the ground where he stood the whole time and opened the dusty book. After a few cough, he started to read and try to memorize it's content. Dreng just looked at him and wondered what the hell that kid is thinking, but he gave a could shoulder to it and said nothing. Dreng walked back inside, sat down on a seemingly comfortable chair and slept in a moment.
As Riox went through the parts of materials, he still read the book every page. Around 100 pages, it took about 40 minutes to read it as the book contained a lot of illustrations about everything. He closed the book and stood up and put down the book on the chair where the geezer sat when he came with Mira here. As he turned towards the direction of his home, he saw the hammer lying next to the anvil. He stepped there and grabbed it carefully.
- So this is the feeling of holding a hammer.
Then he started to imitate the movements in the air he saw in his past life. He closed his eyes, and as he felt how and where he needed to move the hammer for the perfect hit, he hammered. When he felt he finished his work, Riox opened his eyes and put the hammer on the anvil, then walked home without a word.
Dreng just stood in silence and leaned to the doorway.
- No one told me 'bout this ... heh, maybe I made a wrong judge. If he will come tomorro' too, I wanna see how he performs in real!
As for the next day, the new week started and the kids went on training with Lok into the forest. The geezer just sat before his workshop and waited for Riox to show up. He waited the whole day, he became uptight about Riox still not coming. He nearly ate his pipe when he saw Mira walking by.
- Mira! Hold for a moment!
Mira heard her name and stopped, turned her hard in the direction of the blacksmith. She saw Dreng coming to her.
- Huh, Mira. Wait! I have a question! Where's the brat? That you came with yeste'day!
- Riox? He went on hunting training with Lok. Why do you ask?
- Ugh, nothing. Just if he comes back, send him to me.
- Do you want to say something to him? I think they will not come back in 3 days.
- It doesn' matter, just send him to me when he come back. Goodbye.
And with that last word, he rapidly left. Mira wondered what happened with that easily angered personality Dreng has.
- Maybe he saw something interesting? It's a good sign!
And Mira also continued her road to the craftsman. She wanted to order a pair of masks for Riox and Ayla to prepare for the spring festival the village always celebrates every year. After all, this will be the first year when Mira can be together with them too and enjoy the festival without any worry. She liked to go with Lok, but she always ended up in a bad shape because of her drawback of life attributes. Now she wants to enjoy it to the fullest.
The kids' training turned into a bigger one as Lok found the traces of a magical beast. While they tracked it's traces, Lok explained some important information about the magical beasts.
- Do not underestimate a magical beast! It's size doesn't mean anything! But first its first, what we call magical beast?
- A wild animal or monster that devoured an amount of mana and evolved! - Ayla answered the first question without hesitating.
- Good! Second question. What are the weakest points of a beast? - Lok asked.
- Each magical beast has a mana organ that works as it's heart. The best option to win against a magical beast is to destroy its mana organ which is usually found in the left side of the 4 and 2 legged beasts! - Ayla gave another perfect answer.
- Really good! Third and last question. How can a magical beast be defeated without destroying its mana organ?
- A-a-aa ... um. - Ayla was thinking as hard as she could.
- There is a special vein that connects the beast hearts with the mana organ. If the vein is damaged, the beast will lose its strength ... - Riox took the initiation and answered.
- That ... was a flawless answer.
Lok left speechless after he heard Riox. He never imagined that Riox memorized the small article he showed him a few days ago about this matter. An hour later they found the beast they noticed, it was a low leveled Black Wildboar, and killed it without any problem.
After they finished their training, they went back home after 4 days in the middle of the day. Riox and Ayla started to adapt to the hunter's life as they spent more time in the wilderness. Lok started to think of giving them a harder challenge as he would leave them alone and just spectate their doings.
Riox and Ayla nearly fell into their bed because of tiredness, while Mira kept her brother in the kitchen for a moment. Lok, as a quick report, happily told the growth of the kids, while Mira also mentioned Dreng interests.
- So the old smith gave up his pride? What happened with the geezer? - Lok questioned Mira.
- I don't know, maybe he saw something? - Mira answered with wonder.
- Arg, I wanna sleep a real good one ...
- Then go and sleep, you idiot! Who will stop you?
Then the door of the house banged as the geezer showed up with an impatient mood.
- WHERE IS THE BRAT?
