Chereads / A Rose Among Handsome Boys / Chapter 2 - The Initiation

Chapter 2 - The Initiation

"Tomorrow, I want you to come to LM Entertainment building on the third floor at one in the afternoon. I want you to meet up with the remaining five members of the band, Miso ya," Miso tried to reminisce about Manager Lee's words. "No, I should call you Jay from now on."

Miso was conflicted but determined to do it. However, there was no way that both of her twins had enough money to pay for breaching the contract that Jay had already signed several months before.

All he needed to do was focus on his recovery.

With her short hair resembling a man, she was now ready to become Jay and become the main vocalist of the boy band, Blue Rose. The only thing left for her is not to get caught by the members.

This wasn't going to be easy.

As an orphan, Miso and Jay had always been together for so long. A few months after they graduated from high school, Miso would become a freshman taking up practical music in college.

But she had to say goodbye to the first semester of college life as she had already been in a situation where she couldn't turn her head back.

Miso took a deep breath as she stared at the tall building in front of her. It had ten floors, and just by looking at it, she was already intimidated.

But for the sake of Jay, his loving brother, she had to take the chances and put herself out of her comfort zone.

"I can do this!" Miso yelled as she took a deep breath and marched towards the entrance of the building.

She might be entering a war zone with just herself and her voice as a weapon, but she realized that it was enough for her to win.

Miso knew that she was not alone in this battle.

Her parents are watching her from above, and most especially, her twin brother is rooting for her.

The receptionist welcomed her with a warm smile, and that made Miso less nervous about meeting up with six men who happened to be the band members of her twin brother's group.

It appeared that even Jay himself had not even met up with them, so there wouldn't be any problems about them recognizing her as a fake or whatever.

The receptionist dialed something on the telephone and apparently confirmed Miso's meeting with the band members. She followed the receptionist lead her to the third floor.

The rooms that were inside the third floor seemed like practice rooms specifically for trainees like them. Either for the band members or vocal training sessions for vocalists like her.

The room was closed, and the receptionist knocked on the door first. The door slid open, and Miso saw Manager Lee by the door. He seemed to be pretty enthusiastic now that she had arrived at the place.

"The new member of the band is already here," Manager Lee announced with a smile as he guided Miso to enter the room. "I hope that you guys can continue and practice the songs for your official debut twenty-nine days from now."

The receptionist left the scene, and Manager Lee closed the door. It was Miso's first time seeing such a grand practice room for bands. They had a complete setup such as bass, rhythmic and lead guitars, piano, and drums.

She fell in love with how the walls were plain and soundproof. It would be such a perfect place for her to practice. And no matter how much she would try to belt out her voice, other people wouldn't hear her cracking it.

"I already told you, Manager," Miso's eyes stopped wandering around as she focused on the man who ran his fingers through his light brown hair and stared at her with a sharp gaze. "I don't let just anyone become the main vocalist of the group and sing the songs I make with a mediocre voice."

For some bizarre reason, the man felt familiar to her.

Another guy clapped his hands as he took off his headset and hung it around his neck. He stood next to the black-haired guy with sharp eyes and said, "It might be tough for a newbie like him but as expected by Ren, he never fails to amaze me." He gave him a thumbs up and approached Miso as he extended his right hand, "I'm Han."

Miso was bewildered, and she just stared at the hand that this guy, Han, had offered in front of her. It was so sudden for her that she couldn't react well.

Four incredibly tall and handsome men were staring at her like a lion performing some tricks in a circus. She was the only woman in the room and felt the difference, but she realized something important.

Aside from the manager, these men didn't know about her real identity, so she had to forget that she's a woman and embody herself as her twin brother, Jay.

"Your name is Jay, right?" The blonde guy named Han continued as his smile became awkward. "Aren't you at least shake my hand and pretend that everything is fine?"

"Ah, yes!" Miso exclaimed as her stare fell to the ground. She extended her hand and shook his. "My name is Mi---" she trailed off as she caught herself. "I mean! My name is Jay!"

Miso replied as she glanced at Han and the other members, who seemed to have unreadable facial expressions. But when her gaze fell on the man with the sharp eyes named Ren, he became intimidated and looked away.

Han chuckled, "My members might be scary looking but they are good guys." He turned around and tapped each of the member's back as he said. "You guys are scaring the newbie. Do you guys want him to run away when it's literally a month left before our debut?"

"The name's Lix," The blonde guy said as he glanced at Miso before he continued playing with the bass guitar. It was Miso's first time hearing someone who had such a baby face with a contrasting sounding voice among many other men. "Almost everyone is fine with the newbie as long as he does his job properly." He glanced at the center, "But I don't think Ren would be okay with it."

"That's right," Ren agreed as he glared at Miso. She immediately felt intimidated. He had such round eyes and is the exact definition of a flower boy, but he looked cold and wary of her that she couldn't help but fear him instead.

The thing was, his sharp gaze was familiar to Miso.

But she couldn't really pinpoint where and when she first saw him.

"I think it would be better to just wait for Chris," Another guy said. He wore a black short-sleeved shirt that had the same color as his hair. "The leader has the final say about this, after all."

Miso glanced at the guy who spoke, but what caught Miso's attention was how his biceps looked extremely firm. She didn't really know she had the time to fancy about all of these like a pervert.

"Bin," Manager Lee called the guy with dark-colored hair and continued, "Chris is already coming, right?"

"Yeah, the CEO has requested a meeting with him." Bin sighed as he stared at Miso, who was just fixing her gaze on the blank wall. "It seemed that he's receiving the news about the arrival of the newbie as well."

In just a split second, the door burst open. There, Miso spotted a magnificent-looking guy wearing a beanie that covered his hair. He had the same light brown hair color as Ren, but something in his eyes expressed warmth when Miso met his gaze.

For a moment, the leader appeared to be surprised seeing Miso. But he cleared his throat and acknowledged her with a nod. He entered and scanned the room before saying, "It seemed that every one of us is already here." He continued, "The CEO said that it would be better for us to hear the newbie sing first." He positioned himself at the center of the room and glanced at Miso. "Shall we hear him sing?"

Everybody turned their heads and looked at Miso in silence. They were now expecting her to sing.

What should she do?

The expectations in their eyes were pressuring her to do it.
