Chereads / A Rose Among Handsome Boys / Chapter 4 - Unconscious

Chapter 4 - Unconscious

The newbie seemed awfully familiar to Ren, but he couldn't care less about it. He had met several types of faces of fin his lifetime. And whenever he debuts as an artist, it wouldn't even shock him if he would meet every person in the country.

Ren couldn't help but stare at the newbie. His facial features were as soft as that of a girl. He was pretty as a boy as he had significant and round eyes, pale, plump cheeks, and thin reddish lips.

His longer hair in front was styled like a fringe and an undercut to highlight his fringe. He suited his hair with his normal colored black hair. He donned a pair of dark green colored pants with a super loose V-neck tee shirt. His shoes were made of leather with a bit of stitching on the seams.

Ren could not help but raise his brow, "This isn't enough for Jay to become Blue Rose's main vocalist."

The atmosphere immediately turned cold. Everyone was fast to approve Jay's skills, but Ren had something else on his mind. He seemed apparently nervous singing in front of them.

It wasn't something he'd accept. If he felt nervous singing in front of them, how would he sing in front of tens, hundreds, and thousands of people?

He had to work his way with his confidence.

Ren didn't know how this guy could capture the CEO's heart that he immediately let him into the group, but there's no way that he'll let him in that easily.

With a nod, Chris asked, "Then, what do you suggest, Ren? If you have something in mind, I'm all ears." He opened his hands wide, waiting for him to say something.

At least, he should have a temporary or probational period to see if he would ever fit the group, right? It's not like he'd be a burden. He'd be free to work on his skills. Or would he?

Ren shook his head.

The last thing he wanted was to have someone mediocre in the group. If the newbie had skills not on par with his expectation or didn't have the confidence to be one, it wouldn't be worth the trouble.

"Let's give ourselves at least a week to prepare and sing the songs as a band. We will do a busking performance in front of people," Ren suggested as he narrowed his eyes, staring at the newbie almost on the verge of closing his eyes. "That would be a great way to see our compatibility with each other."

Jay didn't seem like he was paying attention to them. He was as wobbly as that of a newborn baby standing in front of them. Ren glanced at Chris, who was eyeing him with concerned eyes.

It appeared that their leader wasn't paying attention to what he was saying. Instead, the newbie seemed to be the most exciting thing that caught his eyes.

And for some reason, it irked Ren big time.

"I agree with Ren," Han said as he sat next to him on the sofa, tired from stopping the fight and walking around the room. "I think it would be great but it's not supposed to be a trial period where he would be kicked out if he fails, right?"

"There's only like a month left before our debut." Bin shared, "It would be better to be more prepared like ever---"

Bin could not continue what he was about to say because the newbie had already left the conversation. Jay was falling on his back, but Chris was already fast, that he was able to catch his back to prevent him from falling.

The other members stood up, alarmed by the sudden situation. Chris tried his best to support Jay and held his right arm and back. He dropped her slowly to the ground with his back landing on the floor.

This guy was definitely going to be a handful for them.

"Is he okay?" Lix asked, concerned. "Did he just faint?"

Chris lowered himself and leaned his ear near his nose, and said, "He didn't really seem like he's unconscious." He shared as he shyly giggled, "He's breathing. It just seemed like he didn't have enough and proper sleep."

"Sleep is for the weak," Ren remarked as he rolled his eyes. "When he debuts, he wouldn't even get the rest he deserves at times."

"I know," Chris muttered. "It would be hard for him to adjust."

It suddenly became quiet.

Manager Lee suddenly spoke, "I think it would be better to let Jay rest for a while." He squatted next to Chris and offered, "I can carry him to the clinic."

"No, it's okay." Chris shook his head and spoke in a soft voice as he skilfully put both Jay's arms on his shoulders and carried him in a piggyback ride with his arms supporting his legs. "I can do it myself."

He stood up and carried Jay around. It seemed like he was as light as a feather with the way Chris took him.

"It would be better to continue this later on," Manager Lee said as he stood up. "Ren, will that be okay for you?"

Ren shrugged as a reply, "Well, of course. It's not like I can force him to wake up, right?"

With that one last line, Manager Lee and Chris left the practice room. And they were left with Bin, Lix, and Han in the room.

Han patted his back and said, "Ren. I think the newbie is good enough for our team. Why were you so hard on him when it's your first time seeing him?"

First time seeing him?

Bold of him to assume that.

"It's not my first time seeing him though," Ren replied as the corners of his lips perked up.

Furrowing his brows, Han pouted as he looked at Ren. "What do you mean by that? Have you already seen him before?"

Lix and Bin, who were just there standing and leaning their backs on the wall, seemed to be just as interested as Han. Their eyes were round as their ears were entirely focused on him.

Taking a deep breath, Ren spoke, "That's right. I have seen him before."
