No one spoke but they heard a sound. Miso turned her head and glanced at Han, "Did you hear that?" she asked.
"I did," Han replied. "But I don't think anyone of us spoke?"
Slowly, Miso turned her head to the back and so did Han.
The next thing after that was left was a shout.
Miso felt the hairs on her skin stand up, her jaw dropped, but she couldn't move. Her eyes focused on what was in front of her and saw that it was the same old familiar looking tall guy wearing a hoodie.
She immediately calmed down when she realized that it was not a supernatural being who stood in front of them.
"Bro," Han exclaimed as he held his chest with his hand and breathed deeply. "You scared us!"
Ren just stared at them in disbelief. His eyes gazed at Han, then to Miso as he put both of his hands on his pockets, "It's not my fault that the two of you are such scaredy cats."
"Please refrain from doing that, bro," Han pleaded. "Or else my soul might leave my body due to shock."
Miso furrowed her brows then turned to glare at Han, "What? You didn't want Ren to do it to you but it's okay if you scare the hell out of me?"
He continued to mutter under his breath, "The saying is right, people are much scarier than ghosts themselves." "Woah, Woah, calm down," Han raised both of his hands as a surrender and continued. "I made a mistake for scaring you, Jay! I apologize for that!"
With a frown, Miso just pursed her lips and glared at Han. But later on, she softened her gaze smiled at him when he gave her an apologetic smile.
"What made you come here, though, Ren?" asked Han as he encircled his arms on Ren's shoulders. "It's my first time seeing you here in the company late at night."
"There are times that I come here from time to time," Ren replied as both of them started walking towards the elevator. "Han, you just don't notice me coming here."
"Is that so?" Han questioned. "Well, that would make sense. I only come here from time to time."
"What are you guys doing here, anyway?" asked Ren as he turned his head and stared at Miso.
She felt his intimidating aura so Miso tried her best not to gaze back at him at all.
"We were practicing, of course," Han chimed in with a big grin. "You know, bro, I can become a good vocalist if I hadn't been chosen as the drummer of the band."
"That's right," answered Ren.
"But I love playing the drums so much," He said with a big grin plastered on his face. "That I won't be interested in coveting the main vocalist's position."
Miso blinked as she noticed Han glancing at her with a playful gaze. She spoke, "I am so blessed that Han fell in love with playing the drums that my position will remain as is."
Furrowing his brows, Han said, "Wow. Why do I hear sarcasm in your tone, Jay? I never thought that you'd have a sarcastic DNA in you as well."
"You bet," Ren scoffed as he nodded in agreement. "Did you even forget that it hasn't been a week since Jay came? There are still a lot of things that we need to know about his personality."
"Well, you are right about that."
They went into the elevator in silence. Han yawned and spoke up, "Now I'm hungry after staying up so late."
"Me too," Miso mumbled in a small voice.
"Before we go back to our dorms, let's stop by to a 24/7 convenience store, will that be okay?" Han suggested.
"Okay," Both Miso and Ren nodded in unison as the two of them walked out of the elevator and back to their room. They glanced at each other for a split second before they followed Han on the way to the convenience store just a block distance away from the company.
Miso felt like Ren was surprisingly being observant and lenient to her. She didn't really know why because he had been extremely nice to her today.
She was shocked that just after their group practice earlier with the band members, he asked, "Are you going to be practicing late at night as well?"
Then, Miso answered with a nod.
And he replied with a small, "Practice well."
It seemed like he heard that she was practicing in the company until late at night but it was surprising for him to say something about it. Chris, Han, Lix, and Bin had been specially caring for her and even told her some special tricks to improve and what she could do in the company.
"Bro," Han asked as he went inside the convenience store and picked up one brand of cup ramen he liked. "Why did it seem like you just came to the company to pick us up?"
Miso stood near Han and picked up one cup of ramen noodles similar to Han's and went to the cooking station to cook their ramen. There was no one else in the convenience store aside from them and the part-timer as well.
For some reason, Miso was curious about Ren's answer as well. Both Han and Ren are really close for some reason, it wouldn't shock her if he went into the company wanting to accompany Han on his way to the dorm.
How sweet!
Whether it's romantically or it's friendship, Miso envied the strong relationship between them. Even if Ren might seem cold, he seemed warm and genuine inside.
There might be even something more going on between them. It would be much more interesting to hear their love story develop altogether. After all, love knows no boundaries.
"It's because I came here because I wanted to pick you up," Ren nonchalantly said as he came to the cooking station with his one cup of ramen noodles. "Is there something wrong with it?"
Miso's breathing hitched when Ren looked at her in the eye.
Was he actually telling those words to her?
Out of nowhere?!
