Chapter 38 - The basement isn't normal!

They spent almost three hours looking around the area but in the end, they couldn't even find a trace of the celestial sword.

Even with the celestial flame helping them, they had a hard time finding the sword and it almost discouraged them and made them wonder if they were in the right place.

Right when Wang GuiYing was about to give up, Xin spoke, "Let's wait for a few more hours."

"You seem to trust that Mr. Liu a lot," Wang GuiYing spoke with a small frown as he looked at the man, "What if he was lying to us...?"

"He wouldn't lie. I trust him," Xin closed his eyes and firmly spoke with a nod.

Wang GuiYing couldn't help but feel a little irritated by this response but he didn't bother saying anything as a response to that.

They looked around for a few more hours and came across a couple of people who lived around the area. When questioned about the cursed sword, most of the people avoided talking about the subject and immediately left while the others only warned them not to look for the cursed object.

The reactions that they got were to be expected and they didn't exactly find any new information.

Before they knew it, they had already spent half a day looking around the area, and yet, they weren't able to find anything.

Although Zhihao had said he'd catch up to them, till now, there was no sign of the man either and for some odd reason, Li Ling didn't look to be worried.

With a bit of suspicion, Wang GuiYing side-glanced at Li Ling and tried to sound as natural as possible as he questioned, "Where is Mastermo?"

"He'll catch up with us later," Li Ling spoke, looking to be nonchalant.

Wang GuiYing couldn't help but feel that these two were up to something but he had no clue what that might be.

Finally, after what seemed like forever, the celestial fire moved, finding a connection with the celestial sword that was around the area.

Wang GuiYing was too surprised and overjoyed to see the celestial flame finally moving and he almost wondered if he was dreaming.

"Let's hurry!" Xin was the first to speak as he followed after the celestial flame.

Wang GuiYing bobbed his head up and down with almost an equal amount of enthusiasm as he followed after the man.

Li Ling was the last to follow and he was probably the only one who didn't look to be overly excited about it, on the contrary, he looked to be cautious as he looked around.

The more the flame danced, the closer they got to the cursed sword.

At the end of the day, the flame stopped moving and although they didn't get to see the sword first, they could certainly feel its presence.

Wang GuiYing gulped as he closed his eyes and tried to listen to the faint sound that came from somewhere.

He couldn't tell where it was coming from but he was sure the sound was quite abnormal and sounded somewhat like what he would expect clashing swords to sound like.

"Below us," Xin was the first one to speak as his eyes narrowed down on the ground beneath them.

Wang GuiYing frowned as he heard this but before saying anything, he knelt down on the ground and put his ear close to it as he tried to listen in.

The sound got slightly louder and it seemed that Xin's guess was correct.

"How do we go down?" Wang GuiYing questioned as he immediately snapped his head towards Xin.

Xin looked around silently and after thinking about it for a few minutes, he spoke, "I've never been down there but I know how to get there."

"Great!" Wang GuiYing pushed himself off the ground and immediately exclaimed, "Let's go!"

Xin opened his mouth as if wanting to say something but at the end of the day, he refrained from voicing out his thoughts and quietly nodded his head as he lead the way.

They entered a restaurant but instead of ordering anything, they went straight to the stairs which led down to the basement of the building.

None of the staff members stopped them and when Wang GuiYing's eyes met with a man who worked there, the man simply smiled and slightly bowed his head as if greeting him.

"How exactly do you know this place?" Wang GuiYing's eyebrows furrowed together with a bit of worry as he questioned.

"It's a place to make quick money. You'll find a lot of players down here."

Li Ling nodded his head, looking to be agreeing with the man.

"Then the sword is currently with one of the players...?" Wang GuiYing's eyes widened ever so slightly as he asked.

"Probably," Xin nodded his head and didn't bother saying anything further.

The clashing sound of the sword got louder as they continued to go down the stairs.

Wang GuiYing gulped and his muscles tensed up as he prepared himself for any kind of situation that may arise.

When they stepped down the stairs, Wang GuiYing could immediately hear cheers and he frowned as he looked around at the 'basement'.

This was clearly not a normal basement. It was an arena. To be more exact, it looked like an arena for illegal fighting.

There was a panel of judges, a referee, commentators, fighters, and an audience that hyped up the fight.

Down here, it was another world entirely.

The celestial flame pointed in a certain direction, excited to have found another artifact that was connected to it.

The three turned their heads at the same time and looked at the stage.

The cursed celestial blade was not hard to recognize, in fact, the sword in itself was so blinding that anyone would be able to recognize it even if they had never seen it before.

The sword had a soft glow of red. It looked fierce and intimidating.

Ironically enough, the sword was so impressive that the wielder of that sword looked as if he had no presence at all.

Wang GuiYing hadn't even spared the man a glance.

All he could do was stare at the sword in a daze.

Just like the other two artifacts, this sword also had an ethereal feel to it.

Its mere presence was able to make everyone go weak on their knees.

The sword had a cold personality, one that everyone wanted to approach but at the same time, one that nobody would ever dare to approach.

The sword struck forward with force that could move both the heaven and earth, however, surprisingly enough, that force was stopped by a single man wielding a sword that was not even worth mentioning in the presence of the cursed celestial sword.

Wang GuiYing couldn't help but feel a little impressed by this person that had managed to stop such a powerful attack and he was surely not the only one.

There was a lot of fog on the stage and hence, at first, the face of the person wasn't clear but when the fog started clearing up a bit, Wang GuiYing took a closer look at the man and immediately felt a little shocked.

There was no way in hell he wouldn't recognize that man!

"A-Zhi," Li Ling spoke up first with a small smirk on his face, sounding quite proud as he added, "He caught up sooner than I expected."

Wang GuiYing didn't know if he was supposed to laugh or not as he looked at Zhihao who was on the stage, fighting against the celestial sword and its owner.

It looked like the fight had started about ten minutes ago and was still going quite intense with both sides looking to be equally matched in power.

In this fourth stage, all players had equal skills and the only way one player would be overpowered by another player would be through the existence of a special artifact like the celestial sword.

However, at the moment, although Zhihao did not possess that celestial sword, he still didn't look to be at a disadvantage.

"Hmm... Your friend is quite impressive," It was a familiar voice that whispered in Wang GuiYing's head.

Wang GuiYing frowned as he asked, "Why are you here? I didn't call for you."

The celestial dragon laughed at this response, "You didn't but that sword did."

Wang GuiYing raised his eyebrows, "You can feel the link?"

"I can always feel the link no matter how far I am. Afterall, it was once part of my body."

The celestial dragon knew exactly where all the other artifacts were and yet, he didn't bother helping them.

"..." Wang GuiYing didn't know if he wanted to curse at the celestial dragon or not.

"I am quite surprised to see that you were able to find it so easily," The celestial dragon added with an amused tone, "Was my hint so accurate?"

"Don't get me started on that stupid hint of yours," Wang GuiYing rolled his eyes as he spoke.

"Hmm?"
