It has been four years since the incident. I still get the I'm sorry. Text me, or call me back, messages.
I decided I am gonna finally respond. I picked up my phone, and texted Hannah meet me at the tree. Bring Mark with you.
A reply was almost instant. Hannah texted; we will be there. I got up, and sat on the edge of my bed. I had to mentally prepare myself for this meeting.
I think four years is a good enough time of letting her deal with her choice. I headed out to my car, and got in.
Was I ready? How will things go? I began to question myself, and overthink things. "No, I made up my mind. I am gonna go through with this."
I put the car in reverse, and headed out. I jammed out to Rock to take my mind off things for a sec. I pulled up to see Hannah by her car.
As beautiful as ever, her red hair and green eyes. Perfectly golden-brown skin, and curvy body. Still made my heart beat fast.
I walked up to her, and smiled. The wind blew, and her perfume filled my nostrils. "Still wear the perfume I got you?" I said breaking the awkward silence.
"Yeah, I like how it smells." She blushed. "Adrian, I'm sorry for...." I raised my hand.
"It is done. You made your choice. Yeah, it hurt. I busted my butt for us. I took extra shifts, and stayed late. For the new house. It was disrespectful, and it broke me. I wanted to surprise you, and you surprised me. By cheating on me. You broke the promise we made as kids. You betrayed me, and with Mark. That was even worst." I stopped myself, cause I was trudging up the past. "Look, it is done and over. Let's move forward." I went to hug her, and a round was shot off.
I looked down, and a hole was in my chest. It took a second for my disoriented mind to register what happened. I dropped to my knees, and coughed up blood. My body went weak, and I became dizzy.
"You shot him! What the Hell is..." Another round was fired, and Hannah hit the floor. I looked up, and Mark was pacing with a gun in his hand.
"You ruined everything! You... You should have not been there! Our relationship was going perfect, and you messed it up!" He blamed me for him ruining our relationship. My brain could barely comprehend his words.
"I forgive you." The last words I managed to get out before I blacked out. My body shut down, and I awoke in a white room.
"Ah, welcome to my office. My name is Serenity, and I will be judging if you are worthy to be reincarnated." A man in white robes introduced himself.
"Well, I am in your hands. Before, can I ask a favor?" The man in white nodded. "You see there is this guy you may see. His name is Mark Bleakwood, and he is my best friend. He the reason why I'm dead. He grew up in a bad place, and I was the only good influence in his life. Well, me and Hannah, but that not the point. Please be lenient on him."
"Humble request. That is why I took you as my chosen. You see, I am the strongest deity of all the deities. I rarely choose people, cause there isn't many who fit my criteria. He betrayed you, and even killed you. Yet your last words were, I forgive you. You also ask for leniency on his judgment. Your riotous heart is why I will bestow you, my powers. In this new life, you will be given the power to bring the world to your knees. Be whatever you want, and do as you please. I trust you won't make me regret it."
This man snapped his finger, and I awoke in some lady's arms. I'm thinking she is my mom. I smiled, and then the room door busted open.
"Where is he?" A man barged in, and ran up to us. "That him? He's gonna change our lives."
This statement was more true than he knew. After about 6 months, I possessed the intelligence to talk. This led to the ability to cast magic by chanting incantations.
This progressed my ability to read books, by casting telekinesis to bring the books to me. As I turned into a one-year-old, I was walking thanks to body enhancing magic. This allowed me to practice even more. I read books upon books about the world.
I mastered all the languages, and was able to cast magic that I created. Serenity was right. I have a lot of power. It's kinda scary. I mean, being able to learn at the pace I am. Being able to create magic spells by just knowing the basis of magic.
I created teleportation magic, and have visited many places. Making people go crazy seeing a 1-year-old appear out of no where.
Nine years passed, and I was old enough to start school. Though I have to hide the abilities I have, but before any of that comes the coming-of-age party.
Being a noble, I have to do this tradition. I basically meet the community of nobles, and meet all the other kids 10 and up. This helps make bonds with other nobles, and also helps find potential suitors.
I dressed in formal attire which was a tuxedo, but mine was all white. The tie was the only thing black along with my shoes. I felt like I was gonna moon walk out on the stage.
As I approached the stage, I felt everyone's eyes stare me down. I felt they already judged me, and are seeing if I'm worthy of their daughters.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Aria Wolfblood, and I am pleased to meet you all. Today I turned 10, and I stand before you all humbled, and in your hands. May my future be bright, and my path grace me with a fulfilling life of wonder and adventure. Whomever shall be my bride, I ask that you stand beside me, and hope you never feel beneath me. I shall protect you, and your honor with my life." I bowed, and the crowed ate that up.
Cheers rolled across the room, and many parents came to me with a smile. They praised my parents for raising a bright young man. They applauded their teaching of manners, and proper etiquette. I walked onto the dance floor, and decided to greet the noble's offspring.
After I reintroduced myself, I began to chat. A nobles son walked up, and he seemed a little more important than the rest, cause his attire was more appealing to the eye. "You sure know how to make yourself a target. You shouldn't put yourself out there too much. These nobles don't care for proper formalities. They mostly act on their own agenda to rise in the nobility ranks. You are just wasting your time. Your nobility is what matters to them. You can rise with power too. In most cases the non-nobility become nobles due to abilities in magic or swordsmanship. My father is a prime example. Want them to notice you? Make them by showing them your true strength. I can tell your magic level is terrifying. Your ring hides your mana. Anyways, my name is Christopher Jouste. I look forward to our friendship." He bowed and headed off.
"Don't let him make you feel troubled. He is truly kind, and only cares. He has a huge sense of justice, and really liked your introduction. I am Amelia Jouste. We are the king's son and daughter." I quickly bowed, and apologized for my ignorance. She curtseyed, and forgave me. "I have to head out. It was nice meeting you." She rushed to her brother's side, so I decided to meet the other noble's kin.
It was exhausting. Most acted high and mighty, and I was glad when they left. I passed out quickly, cause I had a lot to do. School begins in a month, and I had to train my magic, and hone my swordsmanship.
I awoke to my mom. "We have a surprise for you." She hinted me to follow. I got up, and headed to the living room. My father had a sword, and a suit for me. It bore the crest of our family, and was nice. I quickly got dressed, and did a look over in the mirror. I looked handsome, and it recalled a new hairstyle to. I did a one up fade with a long top so I could stye it. The sword was a bit strange though. I sensed it was not normal.
I grabbed the hilt, and unsheathed it. The blade was blue, and had a sense of magic. I saw runes on the blade itself. I deciphered what they meant, and was surprised. This is a holy sword, and it was named Demons Demise. The rune was only the chosen shall wield me.
I took my ring off, and poured my mana into it, and it illuminated. The blade had chains that became visible, then shattered. I could sense it had found its chosen. I wondered what that meant for me. It made me have to process the fact I wield a holy sword too. This world keeps making me more and more terrifying.
I went out to them, and my father had a shield in his hand this time. I picked it up, and could feel it was super light. "Mythril, this is a metal that is as sturdy as a dragon, but as light as a feather."
"Thanks, and dad, where did you get this sword? This is a holy sword that is bound by a rune. The chosen shall wield it." I informed him.
"It is a family heirloom. I hoped you would be that chosen. I see I was right." I smiled, and rushed outside. I began to train with the sword, and shield. I teleported to a known spot where monsters showed up. I then tested out the power of the sword, and come to find out it was not meant to be wielded lightly. the new split in the ground I made was verification enough. I decided to buy a sword I could wield without destroying the very world around me.
The month ended quickly, and before I knew it. School was upon me.
