Chapter 7 - Chapter 6

Hisoki's car was nice. Nicer than any car he's seen, which says a lot. He smiled quietly, stepping into the passenger seat. "You have a nice car," Baker mumbles, looking around. It was clean, not a shocker, and was a nice blue, with a white leather interior. "Thank you." He says kindly, pressing the button that makes the car turn on. Oh, press start. How much does Hisoki make?

Baker buckled up, placing his backpack on his back. Hisoki grabbed his bag, leaning in between the two seats, setting his bag in the back, before sliding back into his seat. It was silent, only the soft sound of the car's hum created noise. Baker needed to start a conversation…. What conversation is he going to start? It's going to be awkward and embarrassing if he doesn't start a conversation. "I like your organization style." What the hell did he just say?

Hisoki turns to him, raising an eyebrow. "My…. organization style? Thanks, that's very nice of you, Baker." He nods towards him, smiling, before slowly backing out of the driveway. Oh my god, he's an idiot. Why did he just say that? He sucks in a breath, looking out the window. "What's America like?" Hisokie glances at him, before back at the road. "It's great. Very crazy and fast. If you don't move quick enough then you'll get left behind.

"But, I think I like Japan more. It's my style, less scary I guess." He chuckles, shrugging his shoulders. "So did you like….. Learn Japanese? Or did you learn English?" He asked, looking back up at Hisoki. "Technically both. But I learned Japanese after. It doesn't do you do well to speak Japanese in an English-speaking country." He wasn't wrong. Baker hums and nods.

"My turn to ask a question…" Hisoki said out of the blue. Wait, are they going back and forth? What?! WHY!! He sucked in a breath. "Your paper. It said that you might have some friends. Did you use to not have friends? You seem so friendly." He observes, slowing down at a stoplight. "Also, where exactly am I going?" He had told Hisoki Yoshi's address so that he could drop him off. He would be early, but only by a couple of minutes, and besides, he's too nice to be mean.

"Not really, I'm always super quiet, but now I wanna be louder and talk more. Kind of like Yoshi." Hisoki hums, tapping his finger to a rhythm on the steering wheel. "Well, I know this is basic, and you have probably heard this a million times, but just be yourself. That way, people won't befriend you for a fake reason." It was true, and Baker did think about that. But he would be fine. "I'm being myself. It's self-improvement." That made Hisoki laugh. Hisoki's' laugh is so perfec-

"That's a good way of putting it. I'll remember to tell people who annoy me that." He jokes calmly. The car slowly moves forwards as the light goes green, before zooming forward. "And I gave you directions to Yoshi's house. I'm going to study over there." Oh, he was a bad liar. However, he must be good enough for Hisoki to not notice. He hums and nods, the professor lowering a switch, making the left turn signal come on. Baker looked back out the window.

Hisoki turned into a cute neighborhood. It was nice and was a place for someone better than just the middle class. The houses were big but had little space between them, white, black, or grey fences protecting each homeowner's lawn. "Wow, the houses are amazing." He mumbled to himself, though Hisoki also nodded. "Yeah, they are. I like them." He replied, taking a left onto the circle. Kai was outside, leaning on a white porch. Hisoki slowed the car to a stop, turning to Baker. "Have fun, but not too much fun." Baker laughed.

"I will. Thanks again for driving me over here. Kai will take me home." He says, opening the door and unbuckling his seatbelt. He needed to get out of here before he embarrass himself even more. "Ok, well that's great. And it's totally fine." He says, nodding his head. Baker steps onto the grass, waving once more before shutting the door. Oh, thank the lord he was out. "Look who it finally is!" Kai yelled from the porch. Baker turned around, waving at him. When he looked back, Hisoki was gone.

Baker waved, walking up to the house. "Sorry about that, I didn't think I was gonna be late." Kai waved him off, as Wafi walked outside. "Sup, Baker. Hey, I ordered pizza." He said, placing his hand on Kai's shoulder. Baker walked up the steps, opening the door and letting the three of them inside. "Sorry man had to use your card." He said, before laughing and running off. Kai, of course, chased him.

"Ya! You two stop it!" Baker turned at the familiar voice, seeing Yoshi in a shockingly revealing, sheer top. Wow, ok. He was pouring juice for himself, He sighed, looking up and smiling when he saw Baker. "Hey! I thought for a second you bailed on us." Yoshi said happily, looking up at him for a moment before back at the cup. He stopped pouring at the halfway point, setting the juice down and spinning the top. Baker took off his shoes, placing them next to someone else's before walking back over to Yoshi.

"Yeah, sorry I was late." He says, leaning on the entryway. There was a soft knock at the door, Yoshi glancing out the window, before sipping in cranberry juice. "Can you go get that, it's Mago?" Baker nods, walking back out to the living room, and towards the door. He unlocks it, the assistant teacher walking in. "Hey loser, I thought you might get a little bored without me." He says with a shrug. Kai glances from a door, waving. Did you bring anything?"

Mago looks in up and down, combing his red hair out of his face. "Anything? Anything as in…."

"Alcohol. He's looking for alcohol." Wafi says, seemingly bored. Huh, I guess they weren't as good of kids as Baker thought. Yoshi walks into the living room, all five of them there. "Yeah, if he was going to bring alcohol, we would not be at my house. My parents would all freak out." Yoshi says, stepping around the group to sit on the couch. "And not mine." Baker agrees, sitting beside him. Mago sighs, facepalming. "This is why I don't hang out with high schoolers."
