Jyn was extremely lost. Not in the sense that they had forgotten which direction it was to get through the mountains, Jyn knew that perfectly well. All the village children were taught how to navigate and survive in the mountains by their families in case of an emergency, just in case they needed to reach some other checkpoint of civilization in the event of a terrible catastrophe befalling the village. No, Jyn was lost in the sense of a hard-hitting confusion ramming into them headfirst and throwing deep into the sea of their mind.
You see, what Jyn had originally assumed was some kind of freezing mountain animal - as were quite common here, roughly halfway through the mountains - was, in fact, a human.
The human was lying on the ground in the fetal position, tears streaming down it's relatively attractive face, although Jyn was not at all confident in making any statements based on attraction. It had shoulder length blond hair and was rather thin for someone it's size. Jyn thought it was similarly shaped to the lightning rod they had installed on top of the school building to prevent storm related fires. The outfit it had on was rather non descript. It had a long black trench coat on over a plain white shirt, beginning to stain brown from the dirt and mud on the mountains road. It's pants were a bit too long, hanging just past the ankles, and had a rather boring beige colouring. On its feet were what looked like hiking boots, and it's hands were covered by gloves made from dark leather. This was a very stark contrast to Jyn's own outfit. A singular piece of durable, black fabric that was able to stretch and contract to allow Jyn as much ease of movement as they needed. Jyn pondered as to why human clothes were so showy and impractical. The humans in their village seemed to wear something different for each occasion! Why were all of their clothes not uniform and practical like those of the Chlorans?
It was this line of thinking where Jyn was lost, when they eventually realized that the human had stopped crying and was staring in abject terror in their direction. Jyn decided that this was rude. The human, who had never seen a Chloran before this point, decided that it was in danger from some sort of mountain demon, screamed in fear, and tried to run away. Jyn took this quite personally. They hadn't done anything to the human! They hadn't even introduced themselves yet! And so - in an act of semi-violence and certain aggression- Jyn tackled the human, knocking it out.
