Chapter 5 - 5. Get Home Now.

Ken's POV

Nanqui had continued to translate for Tong-hoon for what seemed like hours and I sat and listened in shock at learning my true identity. I truly had to wonder why were they looking for me now and not before, is it because of my powers or is it like Lola was saying and we emit a strong signal together is that why people can find Peter and me because we are together.

I wanted to ask these questions to Tong-hoon but somehow my voice would never emerge and before I knew it Nanqui was showing us the door. Even Ethan and Peter seemed quite calm for them and I could feel the anxiety in my brain but my actions felt clam. We all just got in Peter's truck and drove back to the house, no one said a word on our 15 min drive and I woundered if Ethan and Peter's brains were acting a wild as mine, and when would my body respond to my brain.

"How did it go?" Eve asked when we eventually got home

Peter shook his head as if trying to clear away webs on it, Ethan just walked past Eve and sat in a chair at the table.

"Strange" I said then almost jumped at the sound of my own voice, I had thought the words but that they actually come out. Try again I told myself. "Nothing... out….." Aggh how frusterating I clinched my fist.

"Wait," Eve said then rushed to Ryan's room to get him. "I think that's what's happening." She was telling Ryan

"So, lets try this" Ryan got a pen and paper out and slid it to me. "Just write your answers, I'll just ask yes and no questions ok." I nodded and Ryan shook his head and pointed to the paper

Yes I wrote down.

"Did you drink or eat anything while you were gone?"

Yes

"Could you talk before?"

Yes I taped the paper so hard I broke the tip of the pencel

"Ok, calm down, all of you" Eve said in a quiet but firm voice, I hadn't realized I was getting so worked up and as I looked at Peter his eyes were white and I'm guessing mine are red Ethan has his fists clenched and has a look in his eyes like someone's gonna get hurt. "Ryan call Lola and Aroura, we need them home, now."

Lola's POV

"Hello," I answered my phone I was so relieved to have service.

"You two need to come home now." Uncle Ryan sounded worried on the other line.

"We are already headed that way, what's going on?" I asked we didn't need more problems Aroura and I already had Matt passed out in the back seat.

"I'll put Eve on," He stated quickly and passed the phone

"Hi, it's Eve, so what kind of spell would make a person not be able to talk and be kind of in a trance but then aggressive when they realized they couldn't talk?"

That's a very specific question "Several spells but most of them take time why?"

"The boys went somewhere to meet Ken's relatives I think and they came back unable to speak and are now about to loose it."

"Crap, Aroura keep your eyes on the road we can get home faster if we don't wreck,"

"Sorry, what's going on?" Aroura was super curious "Put it on speaker so I can hear too."

"Fine," I put my cell phone on speaker then continued, " so Eve it must have been something they ate or drank."

"I figured that much out, but how do we calm them down, they are going to cause some damage if they get much more worked up."

"So this is going to sound weird but burn some white lily incense and make them some chamomile tea with honey that should give us enofe time to get to the house."

"Ok I'll try it." Eve responded hesitantly

"Oh and if you can think of anything specific that calms them down normally that should help too. We will be there soon. Bye" I ended my phone call with Eve

"You didn't even tell her." Aroura yelled at me

"Tell her what?" I asked mimicking Arouras raised vice

Aroura stuck out her thumb and pointed to the back seat, I looked back, Oh she ment Matt.

"There were other things going on, Ethan Ken and Peter have been put under some sort of spell that makes them not be able to talk."

Aroura just started laughing "I don't really see a big problem with that."

"It's not just that those kind of spells tend to make people overly aggressive and add in horseman and it sounds like a bad combo, I just hope what I suggested will help until we get there. And pull over at the next stop, I need my bag." I told Aroura she understood and even though we were in a hurry if I could figure out what might be affecting them I have a better chance at reversing whatever was done to them.

It took almost 30 min to get home including the stop, but I think I know what to do. Aroura and I both exit the car when we reach the house and Aroura grabs a large brick I pick up large board that was laying on the side of the house, If the boys aren't better or already asleep we have to knock them out we already agreed to take out Peter and Ken first because if we don't surprise them we might not be able to take them, between the two of us we can handle Ethan.

We creped into the house a quietly as possible, the lights were dim and it was really quite but I could hear Ella quietly talking. Aroura and I closed the distance to find Ella reading a children's book and Ethan, Peter and Ken were all asleep spread across the living room. Ella saw us and puther finger to her lips motioning us to be quite. We both nodded in agreement and set down our weapons. Aroura and I watched Ella as she calmly read when she finally reached the last page she whispered "The End." And closed the book Ella got up from her chair and tip toed her way through the maze of large boys sprawled out across the living room, when she finally reached us Aroura grabbed Ella and embraced her then reached over and added me into the huddle. It felt so familiar but the Aurora I know doesn't usually show emotions easily.

As she let go of our group embrace Aroura had a tear on her cheek, she quickly wiped it away I'm sure she thought no one saw it. "Come on," Aroura nudged Ella, "We found something." Aroura grabbed Ella's wrist and begain dragging her outside to the car, that's right we found Matt, I don't know where my mind has been lately I can't seem to focus on more than one task at a time.

As we reached the car Uncle Ryan and Eve were already there they had both back doors open and were talking across the hood of the car. "I think if we go head first it would be best." Eve was saying when I caught a glimpse of her face she had tears in her eyes. Eve looked over to the three of us and dashed over giving me a large hug, "Thank you so much for finding him." She looked right into my eyes and said her words with the utmost sincerity. Then he grabbed Aroura and just stared at her, it looked like uncomfortable silence to me but suddenly.

"I know." Aroura said, that's strange

"What are you talking about?" Ella asked and made her way to the open door where Eve had been standing "Matt, you guys found Matt." She almost screamed her words that had her joy melded though them Ella knelt down and placed her face close to Matt's. "I thought I would never see you again, they said you were gone forever, I'm so happy your back." She said the words to him as if he were awake as if he could hear her, perhaps he can.

Eve, Aroura, Uncle Ryan and me just stood and watched for a minuet while Ella basked in her happiness. It was Ella who broke away from Matt, "We need to get him medical treatment, something is wrong with him." I really wanted to roll my eyes at that, because of course something is wrong with him, he is unconscious and his skin is kinda grey and who knows what happened to him while he was gone.

Ella than began bossing everyone around as to how to get Matt out of the car and where to lay him down and even telling Eve who to call. It was very uncharacteristic of Ella but she was so determined that we all just fell in line even Uncle Ryan and Eve just let Ella take charge I think we all know that's what she needs right now. In the end we ended up putting Matt in what is now Eve's room Eve got in touch with the angle that Ella somehow knew to request, and now Aroura, Uncle Ryan and I are just waiting quietly in the kitchen while Eve and Ella talk to the "angle doctor" as Aroura called him in not a very polite voice.

"It's been hours." Aroura pouts, "How much longer?"

"You don't have to sit here and wait you can go train or catch up on your homework, since you just missed a week of school." Uncle Ryan suggested

"Those are terrible ideas... I can't concentrate with all of this going on." Aroura waved her arms in a circular motion, indicating everything around her "And when are they gonna wake up?" she asked me in an annoyed tone pointing to the living room, and the boys still asleep.

"The longer they sleep the better chance of the spell wearing off completely." I told her Aroura just sighed heavily and dramatically laid her upper body over the kitchen counter.

"Ok how about this," Uncle Ryan put his hand on Aroura's shoulder and helped her lift up from the counter, "Tell me what you can about how and where you found Matt, every small detail and we can start to figure that out."

"But Eve wanted us to wait." I spoke up

"But Aroura needs to get things going." Uncle Ryan said , "Let's start," he grabbed a paper and pencil , "First where were you two?"

He is really going to take notes I look at him with a peculiar glance, "What? Then Eve can read the notes." He said back to me "Oh," I guess that makes sense.

"We drove for like 2 hours and stopped at a hotel in a town call Glen something, Lola do you remember the town name?" Aroura seemed excited to get going on something so I can help too

"Glenoaks, no Glen..." I tried to recall but for me the name wouldn't come either

"It's ok we know how far it is and what direction its in so we can find it still." Uncle Ryan reassured us, "So do you guys remember the name of the hotel you guys stayed at?"

"Yes, it was called the Old Creek Cabins, we stayed in room 22, and Matt was in room 21." Aroura was happy with her memory working on this question.

"Ok, so what was in the room where you two found Matt?" Uncle Ryan asked

"Nothing unusual." I quickly answered but when I looked at Aroura she was slightly trembling

"No there were a lot of unusual things, you didn't notice the empty needles in the trash can, or the bags of blood in the box in the bathroom?" Arouras voice was quite as if even talking about those things too load would make them too real.

"No, I didn't see any of that." I told her with all seriousness

"Why were you in such a rush and so scared than?" Aroura aske me quickly

"Because you were" which was true I fed off her emotion and just did what I could fee she wanted. Aroura closed the space between us and gave me a big hug, I don't know exactly why but she sure is a lot more affectionate than usual.

"I need to tell Eve and the angle about the needles and blood now, hold tight, I'll be right back" Uncle Ryan said and left us alone in the quite house to ponder what could be next.
