Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 I'm Not Afraid of Anything with Him

Olivia was so busy that she didn't even have time to have dinner. Finally, she sorted out all the projects and sent them to the president's office before eight o'clock. She didn't expect that there was no one inside.

"He asked me to sort out the documents, but he left first. This was going too far!"

She murmured and the documents on the desk turned off the computer and left with her bag.

At this time, there was no one outside the company. The cold wind blew, making her shiver.

Olivia wanted to call a taxi home, but no one answered the order for nearly ten minutes. She was angry but could do nothing. So, she had to go to the nearby bus station to take a bus back.

However, after two steps, a dazzling light suddenly shot from behind. Olivia turned around and saw a black car coming.

The car stopped. With a deep frown, Vincent looked at the woman outside. He didn't expect her to work so late.

Even if it was him who brought it up at the beginning.

But... He tightened his grip on the steering wheel. What surprised him more was that he had been waiting for her outside all the time.

"Get in the car."

He didn't want to think too much about these things. His tone became colder.

"Haven't you left?"

Olivia was surprised and then her heart beat faster.

Was he waiting for her on purpose?

Otherwise, how could it be such a coincidence!

"Hurry up!" His face darkened.

"Okay, okay, I know!" Olivia didn't dare to irritate him. She got in the car and fastened the seat belt. She said carefully, "Thanks for sending me back. There is no car near the company now..."

Ignoring her, Vincent started the car.

Olivia didn't dare to say anything, fearing that everything in front of her would be broken into pieces like a dream.

Not only did she marry her favorite man, but he also waited for her to get off work. Was there anything happier than this in the world?

However, as soon as the car turned a corner at an intersection, Olivia suddenly felt a sharp pain in her stomach. She slightly bent down and tried to endure it. But Vincent beside her immediately sensed that something was wrong. "What's wrong?" He asked.

"Nothing. It's just a stomachache."

She had stomach problems all the time. But the stomachache only happened a few times. Even she forgot it. The stomachache this time was probably because she didn't have dinner.

Olivia took a deep breath, trying to relieve the discomfort. However, because of this movement, the pain was aggravated. Her face instantly turned pale.

Vincent knew the situation was critical. He turned around and drove to the hospital, "I'll take you to the hospital now."

The pain surged up. In a haze of her consciousness, there was only the tightened handsome face of the man in her eyes. She suddenly felt that as long as Vincent was by her side, she seemed to be fearless of nothing.

When they arrived at the hospital, the doctor quickly examined her. However, the doctor's face was not very good. "Miss Cooper's stomach is not serious, but it is not an ordinary disease. You must pay attention to your diet and recuperate your stomach, lest it develops into a more serious disease. By the way, Miss Cooper, have you eaten any irritating food today?"

"What?" Olivia was embarrassed. She didn't eat anything today. She was taken aback by Vincent's reaction at noon and was busy working overtime at night. How could she have time to have lunch?

"Is there any medicine that can relieve her condition?"

Looking at her pale face, Vincent felt a little guilty. It was indeed because of his words that she had a stomachache.

"This disease cannot be cured with medicine," the doctor shook his head. "Miss Cooper's condition is that she doesn't eat regularly. As long as she takes more attention in the future and doesn't eat irritating food, she will gradually recover."

"Okay."

He nodded and talked to the doctor about something she needed to pay attention to.

When the doctor went out of the ward, there were only two of them left. Olivia felt that the atmosphere was much more depressing. "Well... The doctor just said that I have to stay for a check-up. I might have to wait until very late. Why don't you go back first?"

"I'll wait here."

He pulled out a chair and sat next to her. He didn't intend to leave at all.

Olivia felt warm in her heart.

Although Vincent had never said anything touching, he had always been by her side, which made her very happy.

"Before, I was ashamed to trouble Claire to accompany me to the hospital, but I still hope there is someone by my side."

It was the happiest thing for her to marry Vincent. But she couldn't help feeling lonely.

She was never a person who could endure loneliness. After falling in love with him, she took loneliness as a habit.

When Vincent looked around, he happened to see the person sitting on the bed lowering her eyes and smiling. The bitterness in the smile stung his eyes.

He frowned and felt as if his heart had been hit hard by something.

He had never had such a feeling before.

As soon as Olivia spoke out her innermost thoughts, she regretted. She shouldn't have said these words to Vincent. She wanted to apologize. But when she saw the man sitting on the edge of the bed looking at her unhappily, she misunderstood immediately. "Don't be angry! I didn't mean anything. I just said it casually."

How could she say that in front of Vincent?

On the day of their wedding, Vincent had made it clear to her that there was no possibility between them. He didn't like her and had no feelings for her.

She should know...

She shouldn't expect...

"I'll go to see if the doctor is back."

"Okay..."

Seeing that he was trying to change the topic, of course, she knew what he meant.

Looking dejectedly at the man walking out of the ward, she covered herself with the quilt and tried to suppress the bitterness in her heart. Maybe it was because she was too tired today that she fell asleep while thinking. She didn't know that Vincent had come back.

Vincent stood by the bed and looked at Olivia. It was undeniable that he liked her appearance. Otherwise, he wouldn't have agreed to marry her. And this woman was different from others.

Every time she looked at him, her dark almond eyes lit up as if he was the only one in her eyes.

He enjoyed this feeling very much.

Beep! Beep!

A sudden ringtone interrupted his thoughts.

"What's wrong?" Vincent went to answer the phone outside the ward.

"Sir, Miss Smith's condition suddenly deteriorates. The doctor said that she should have an operation as soon as possible!"

Hearing the assistant's anxious voice, Vincent said with a cold face, "I know. You continue to look after her. I will reply to the doctor tomorrow."

"I see, sir."

He hung up the phone and looked back at the person in the ward, with a deep look in his eyes.

This was the reason why he came back to see Olivia. Ironically, he couldn't speak it out...

He couldn't imagine whether the light in her eyes would go out when she heard his purpose?

She must be very disappointed.

But this matter must be solved!
