Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 - Into new world

The Demon Lord closed his eyes until the spots disappeared from them then blinked the remaining ones away before looking around.

He found himself in what looked to be an abandoned room, rats skittering around the corners of it with stains on the wall and floor of it, the large place that he guessed looked like it would be used for a very large window was boarded up with wooden planks, and a broken glass orb hanging from the ceiling that if he had to guess was used for light but the weird three sticks of wood above it he couldn't tell what they were for.

'Hmmm strange place to end up in but it should be suitable for my stay after I cleaned it as the saying that General Felix says 'baggers can't be choosers.' The Demon Lord thought as he placed his bags down and taking a deep breath.

"Venite umbram servi!"

Small humanoid figures came out of his shadow not much bigger then 24 inches in height standing on two legs with two red dots for eyes.

"Get rid of these rats shadow servants and clean the room afterwards, I want this room to be spotless in the end." The Demon Lord said casually.

The shadow servants nodded as one before going about their task.

What happen was a massacre for the rats, the shadow servants attack the rats brutality, tearing them apart with spikes that came out of where their hand were, the squeak of terror and pain coming from the rats in the room before being silenced by the shadow servants.

Finally the room had no living rats in it corpses of the rats and their limbs scattered around the room and then the shadow servants began to clean.

Cleaning up the corpses of the rats the shadow servants began to devour them, placing them where a mouth would be before a opening appeared and shoved the rats in, eating them.

After all the rats corpses were gone the shadow servants became blob like creatures sucking up filth around the ground before moving to stick to the walls and then the ceiling, cleaning up the dirt, blood and whatever else was staining the room.

Eventually the apartment was spotless Demon Lord nodded in satisfaction as the shadow servants stood in front of him now.

"Good job you can return now." He said to the shadow servants who then all moved right back into his shadow.

The Demon Lord then moved to where the planks were and grabbed onto them he pulled off each one effectually until all they were gone from the window.

The Demon Lord then focused on the outside after he finished his task, and what he saw rendered him speechless as he moved forward onto the balcony that existed outside of room.

Tall building reaching to the sky looking as if many of them were made from mirror glass, others looked like they were made from stone some of them looked to be very old but will perfectly fine enough to be of used, but what more was the amount of people, all humans at that, that were in this kingdom.

There had to be a five million if not more from what he could see, too think of a place that could support so many amazed him.

But…

'There's no elf's, dwarves, beast people, or any other species here…is it just humans?' The Demon Lord thought as he looked closely at the people.

The best he had to guess what that either humans were against other races being with them, they were killed off by humans, or that they simply didn't exist.

Either way it didn't matter much to him but…

'…I better put up a disguise just in case.' He though before casting a spell.

"Mutatio."

Suddenly his form changed showing a short black hair hair young adult male human with reddish brown eyes. The armors he once wore was gone becoming clothes that he now had on were a black jacket with white fur on the hood of it, a red shirt, gray black pants and black boots.

Nodding to himself he stepped back into the room but casted a barrier to block the balcony from the room until he could find a glass or door maker to make a door so that he would not have to worry about creatures or anyone tying to come into the room from there.

He moved to where the door to exist the room was before pausing and moving to grab some gold placing them into his pocket before placing a barrier around his stuff to be safe before opened it the door and stepping out.

A voice paused him from moving further.

"Hey what do you think your doing in that apartment!" The male voice shouted out.

Turning the Demon Lord saw a old overweight balding man.

The man was scowling with a look of anger on his face as he held a bat in his hands looking ready to hit him.

"You punk think you can come in here and steal from my apartment complex, well?!" He shouted looking ready to attack before he could though the Demon Lord was right in front of him with a finger pointed at his head.

"Mens imperium." The Demon Lord said as the man then stoped moving.

"Now explain to me what you mean by apartment complex." He asked calmly to the old man.

"An apartment complex is a building owned by someone who rents it out to tenant who pay for to rent it from the owner…" the older man said without emotion.

"I see…well I am renting a apartment here," The Demon Lord said as he took out ten gold coins. "This should be enough to buy a good castle in the other kingdoms so I would like rent this apartment for my time here."

He handed the man the coins.

"Now remember I am a new tenant and if what I have given you is now enough to pay for the apartment then let me know." The Demon Lord said.

"Yes but what should I put down as your name." The older man asked.

"A name well I guess I can't use Demon Lord here." The Demon Lord hummed as he tried to think of another name to give himself before remembering a nickname that his old caretaker gave him when he was young and could not call himself Demon Lord at the time.

"Dante, Dante Lord." He said with a smile.
