Alexer POV.
-
"Vienne Nicole Hong.. Wadalei Jale Smith.. Alexer John Sloan.. The three gatecrashers huh," I smirked when I heard what Comere just said. He keeps pacing around me, it kinda makes me nervous. So, I scratch my head just to take my attention away from him. "Do you know that you and your friends ruined my day? I can't believe there are people who can't understand simple words…"
I glanced at him, he took his seat on his swivel chair and he crossed his arms.
"Now, I'll give you something, decode this simple cipher puzzle." He threw a notebook at me after he wrote something on it. I picked it up quickly and read what he wrote.
'OVZEV'
Huh?
"As you can see that's a random letters. But no, that's a message. You will know the answer if you decode that simple puzzle."
"Huh? How on earth could do this? I don't even know how to decode or anything!" I quickly defended myself and wrinkled my forehead, confused on what he said.
"You want to join D-Club, right?" He stands up and puts his hand on his chin like he's thinking something, then he looks at me. His face shows no emotion but you can see the excitement in his eyes.
He ripped a page on the notebook and he wrote something again. It didn't take a while before he handed me the paper.
"A code is not for people who can't think deeply. You can stop and give up whenever you like, it's fine with me. Infact, it would make me happy if you do it." He tapped my shoulders and walked out the room while whistling.
-
I like Coffee when the Rain is falling..
I'll be Yawning while my Palm gets cold..
I'll sit above my Table and Occupy space..
I'll be Grateful to see the sun Rise again..
I know it's not Always cheery, but we can still
have a day to make Memories.
-
I didn't know what to say after reading it. I stared in nowhere, and couldn't understand the clue Comere left.
What has winter season something to do with this? -.-
-
Minutes passed by, I still can't find the answer to my own question.
Does the code really have a connection to the winter season? Why can't he just tell me what he wanted me to do directly? Why does he need to write in a note then let me decode it?! So annoying!
But wait? Is the winter season really the clue? Or he just wanted me to think about winter?
I stared at the note again and read it a hundred times but I still can't get the words written on the note.
-
It's really annoying! Why did he think of giving me a note anyway?! I even told him that I'm not good at this!
I scratched my head, and stared at the window. Then suddenly, I remember what the President of ClassA12 said.
In Wilford Academy, there are two types of students.
I wondered what those two types were.
Are they human and robot? Duh Alex, obviously you're wrong. What were you thinking? You're not in a movie. Tsk.
Or maybe, it's the students who are smart, and the others who are not? Maybe that's what she was trying to say?
But if Comere is smart and I'm not, how come we have the same uniform?
-
Seriously Lex? You admit that Comere is smarter than you? W.O.W. -.-
I scratched my head again from thinking nonsense too much and talking to myself.
-
What did I do wrong for the universe to punish me this way?! ToT
-
*Doors open*
-
I looked at the door when I heard it open. I let out a big sigh of relief when I saw Vienne's gorgeous face and Wada's emotionless face that she wore when her mother let her out of this world.
"Hey Lex! We've been waiting for you outside! Don't you wanna leave?! Shion left, we just saw him! He just passed us by! Didn't he tell us to leave? But here you are, still sitting, is this your house? You look like you live here!" Here she goes again. I smirked at what she was saying. She really can't stop her mouth, can she? -.-
"Can you just calm down, Vienne?" I said, trying to calm her. He didn't ask me to leave, he even left me a code or whatever this shit is. He told me to decode this first before I leave." I said, showing the note to them.
Vienne quickly grabbed the note from me and read it. Her eyebrows met as if she was in deep thought, and she whispered through the air as she read it. For sure, she didn't understand the note either.
"What's with this?" She asked with one eyebrow raise. " Does Shion want coffee? Well, let's go to the canteen and I'll buy him lots of coffee so he can die early! Heck! You're wasting your time for this?!" She asked again then furiously put the note down on the table.
"If I were you, I wouldn't waste my time and effort to follow his orders! He didn't accept us, remember??" She started talking again. "What was he thinking? Ah… maybe he likes you." I rolled my eyes on her then shook my head. Then, I glanced at Wafa when she started reading the note.
"What, Wada don't. Don't be so serious reading about something that doesn't make any sense. You won't get anything on that. Just leave it." Vienne said who's now looking in Wada's direction. I snapped Vienne to shut her mouth.
"So? Do you understand the note? Anything?" I asked Wada. She stared at me for a minute before she returned the note to me.
"Did Shion give you anything else, aside from that?" Wada asked in her usual neutral tone while pointing to the note.
I quickly handed her the notebook where the random letters were written.
"So? Do you have any idea what the answer is?" Vienne asked wada, raising her eyebrows at her. "A note with random letters and a weird note just like him. What else could Shion possibly do, weirder than that?" Vienne commented sarcastically. I smirked at what she said, then I turned my attention to Wada.
"I think…" Wada said. "It's really not about the winter season." She added.
"Huh? It clearly looks like he's thinking about the winter season when he's writing this note." Vienne protested.
"Yes, but if you look into it deeper or just say it's like magic… this is just an illusion to hide the real answer." Wada puts down the random letter-note on the table then she places the other note close to it. She then points out some letters from the phrases which makes me more confused. " If you read it as it is, you surely think it's about the winter season. But if you read it carefully, there are some words in each line that have some deeper meaning in it.
Aside from that, he made the note like a poem. And look, there are words that have something important to the whole note.
Like the words 'Coffee' and 'Raining'... Aren't you curious why the first letters are capitalized? You think it's just a typographical error?" Wada explained. Then Vienne quickly picked up the paper and read it carefully again. I'm still confused and still processing Wada's words but then I just copied Vienne's gesture and read the note as well.
I looked like I'm close to figuring it out. But hell no. I Still don't get it.
"It's like in Null. Taking each first letter in every word, like a pattern 1, 2, 3. You can still make something out of it," Vienne suddenly uttered something. I stared at the note but I still can't see what she's trying to say.
"Yes, you're right." Wada agrees with Vienne's statement.
"So it means… 'Cryptogram' is the answer?" Vienne asked Wada. Cryptogram? What Cryptogram?
"Hmm, Cryptogram. It's a cipher puzzle that was used before to hide the words based on changing its original letters into different letters." Wada explained the meaning of cryptogram to us.
"Oh, yeah right. I watched it from some movie before!" Vienne suddenly remembered something and she then now confirmed her conclusion. "Then let's search the letters now in the cryptogram!" Vienne said excitedly.
They picked up their phone and tried to solve the puzzle. While here I am, still staring blankly at the code.
'OVZEV'
If Vienne and Wada are correct that these letters indeed have equivalent letters to hide the real word…
-
While I'm slowly thinking about what they have said, they suddenly uttered something and I stopped.
-
"L-leave?" Vienne uttered questioningly.
"Leave?" I asked her, purely confused.
"Leave." Wada also said the same thing.
Vienne quickly kicked my chair which made me almost fall on the floor. She's now gruntingly rolling her sleeves up like she's about to pick a fight again.
"Oooh that shithead Comere Grey Shion..." Vienne grumbled while scowling at Comere's swivel chair.
-
Oh no, another reason for Vienne to reach her temper's limit to Comere.
I just hope I won't get into her skin.
Wish me luck… ToT
