Back to present.
Ren held her chin with her hand, as she thought about the next steps. They would have to prepare for the battle but none of her companions was remotely strong enough to take on that beast, they would have to face in less than four hours.
Gilbert, Vincent and Miyu would probably be the only ones that would survive it somehow, but not without paying a price of some sorts.
The key to winning this unwinable battle was actually teamwork. Something this group lacked greatly.
The girl turned around to her friend and adressed the other woman.
"Miyu, I want you to follow the jerk and train with him. Beat him up if you must I don't care, just make sure you don't kill him. We still need him later" Ren said in a slightly sarcastic tone. An amused smile was showing on her lips but it vanished as fast as it came.
Miyu replied in a seemingly similar tone to the girl, clearly amused by the proposition.
"May I cut that manliness he is so proud of as well?"
Ren shrugged, she couldn't care less about that. Miyu got the hint and smiled triumphantly. Gilbert and Michael, who quietly watched the two woman unconsciously took a step away from them. Michael even covered his crotch with his hands, like a shield. The two boys were pale all over their faces.
"Remind me to never anger any of them" Gilbert whispered to the boy next to him, who aggressively shook his head in a positiv response. Gilbert knew Ren could be scary and unpredictable, but that new girl they brought along was just as intimidating. For a split second he felt sorry for Vincent, but then he reminded himself of what that guy did and instantly thought of the situation as higher retribution.
Without further a do, Miyu turned around and waved goodbye as she walked into the dark tunnel after Vincent.
Reverie turned around to face Soraya next. Something about that girl has been bothering her for awhile now, she just couldn't get a grasp on what it was. She stepped closer to the girl and stared intently on her face. The girl felt more and more uncomfortable under the long probing gaze and wondered if she had something on her face. She touched her cheeks with her hands, to check if anything was on it but nothing. Yet the staring didn't stop. Her feeling of uncomfort slowly changed into that of intimidation and Soraya got goosebumps all over. The more she looked back at the older girl, the more scared she got by her.
This girl was surrounded by an aura of death, but not the kind of when someone would die soon, no it was a different kind of death, that embraced her. As if she was death herself or having death as her shadow or something like that. Soraya couldn't clearly tell which it was or if it was even completely different than her guess, all she knew from her gut feeling was to never get on the bad side of this girl.
She decided to swallow her anxiety and quietly wait for the girl to speak again, yet it wasn't Reverie who broke the silence but Gilbert.
"Is something the matter with her?" he asked concerned and Ren only shook her head.
"That isn't it. It's just...say, do you think she got magic potential ?" the girl then replied to the magician.
Gilbert looked stunned for a moment, he didn't expect anyone to ever notice potential magic users, let alone ask him if someone was one. He hasn't even felt any magical energy coming from Soraya, so he was even more surprised over Rens question. He quickly stepped next to Reverie and looked at the girl in question. He really couldn't feel any magical energy radiating from her, yet Ren asked him if she had potential. He knew she wouldn't ask if she didn't had a reason to, so he decided to trust the feelings of the girl next to him and placed a hand on Sorayas shoulder.
He closed his eyes and furrowed his brows in concentration. He focused for a long time and his face grew more and more agitated as time passed. Reverie silently watched and occasionally gave Soraya a reassuring smile, to take away some of her anxiety. Michael stood a few metres away, as he watched the scene. He wasn't sure why everyone was so fixated on the new girl now, but he didn't like it. Michael genuinely didn't like sharing the attention he usually got from the two adults. He stared daggers into the girl from the shadows he was standing in and hoped, that the two adults would soon give him attention again. Soraya clearly didn't notice Michael's attempt at starting a war, as her thoughts were occupied with the pretty face of the blonde haired man in front of her. She wondered how old he was and whether he had a girlfriend, she already thought earlier that he was extremely handsome. She thought it wouldn't hurt trying her luck but before she was even able to further deepen her pre mature thoughts, Gilbert came out of his trance like state and turned to Reverie again.
"I have absolutely no idea how you could tell, but she has indeed magic potential!" he exclaimed in a both surprised and questioning tone.
Reverie ignored his indirect question and asked her further questions straight away.
"What kind of element? I know Michael has the earth element, but what about her?"
Gilbert now was the one who shrugged.
"As for elements, she only got the light attribute, but she got strong potential for that one, it's actually really rare to see so much potential for light attribute users. With proper training she could be really strong in the future. For Michael, he got both earth and dark attributes, so he has more potential, than it seems at first. I have no idea how to train his dark attribute though, as it collerates with my own light attribute."
Ren listened intently at his words ans then nodded.
"I see...Light attributes are often for healing magic or support right?" she asked then.
Gilbert nodded in response.
"Same with water ,it is often used for healing as well" he added.
"Hmm...that explains why you are such a good fighter but also a great healer..." the girl replied monotonely as she sunk into her own thoughts again.
Gilbert blushed a little at the compliments and gently smiled. He was genuinely happy to get praise from Reverie, because he knew she really meant it. She wasn't the kind to sugarcoat nor to lie, she openly spoke what she thought and he liked that alot about her. So obviously he would feel flattered by her compliments.
The girl turned to the confused Soraya again and then addressed her.
"Ok little one, from now on you will learn how to use magic. Especially support type of magic. Hmmm let's start with something easy.." she took a quick glance around and picked up one of the twigs next to the bonfire to present it in front of the girl.
"I want you to enhance this twig so much that it doesn't break, no matter what hits it. Make it a strong sword just by enhancing. You got this!"
she placed the twig into the even more confused girls hands and turned around.
"um....how am I supposed to do that?!"
"For the technical details, ask your teacher Gilbert, he will do anything in his power to support you!" Reverie replied cheerfully as she passed Gilbert and tapped him lightly on the shoulder.
"You are making me do all the work?! Seriously?" Gilbert asked exhausted but quickly snapped his mouth shut, when he saw the intimidating look on Rens face.
"Of course you will help a fellow beginner magician discover her talents, won't you?" she spoke in an even more intimidatingly cheerful tone.
"Yes of course! It would be my greatest pleasure!" Gilbert responded quickly, sweat rolling down his spine.
-She really is scary, when she wants something...
Reverie seemingly pleased with his reply, smiled brightly and turned to Michael. She grabbed the boys hand and started walking into the opposite direction Miyu vanished at with him.
She waved Gilbert and Soraya a simple goodbye and a few last words, before the two got swallowed by the darkness.
"I'm gonna train Michael, so you two don't go disappointing me ,okay? We will be back in three hours!"
Gilbert watched the two figures disappear and then turned to Soraya with a long and heavy sigh.
-Guess it's my job to make this girl an enhancer now in only three hours...How does Ren even think I'm supposed to do that?! Magic isn't so easy after all, only the basics for enhancement take days to explain... I'm doomed. And how exactly is she going to train Michael..? I'm kind of worried about him now...
"umm , excuse me?" Soraya said in a small voice . Gilbert quickly ended his train of thought and turned to the girl again.
"Yes, what is it?"
