Starting at the finished archway Odin started connecting to the spatial network. After making a simple link he started the upgrading process.
Even if this gateway was advanced it lacked many things it took a person an hour to travel 670616629 miles. A gateway was meant to be instant travel between two places it should be exactly like light instantly traveling.
Light even though slow never perceived time like normal men. The way time was seen was man made it was the process of one action to the other. But to light, a second and a trillion years was the same if you could control time then naturally you'd control space.
The gateway was supposed to be an overlapping of multiple locations and times. If you left at 10:30 at night and travels 60 light-years it would still be 10:30 at night. The gates here only took space into account but not a time while one could travel at the speed of light they still would take time.
Odin closed off every spatial gateway so no one was stuck after a minute he started the process of upgrading. He gather every node and combined them he slowly altered the pathways and made them one line. He easily folded spacetime and made sure it worked properly before finishing.
Odin entered the gate and appeared on the other side of the planet instantly. He activated the gates and resumed the traffic it was a huge change it might not be felt on the planet but when people traveled to other planets it was very noticeable.
Featuring back to the sect Odin entered his home and saw haze working on spreading the sect's name through social media. Haze looked up at Odin and showed him a clip of haze using his cultivation powers to do many tricks.
"What do you think?" haze said as he handed the phone to Odin.
"Not bad but we also need to account for older people many didn't care for flashy moves and we also need to advertise to the orphans," Odin said as he gave the phone back.
"Why orphans?" haze asked confused.
"Never leave out a group of potential talents." Odin said as he climbed the stairs and entered his room.
In the blink of an eye, a second passed haze returned to his advertising and Odin leaned on his room's window drinking some type of alcohol.
"Wow MCs are quick when it's not important but slow when it is." Odin said as he saw a young man walk out of the gate.
Looking around the empty sect mike took a deep breath. After living alone for 21 years and gathering up money in the slums of his world he had finally taken the chance to start a new life. It costed 600 galactic credits but he had all he needed and bought a ticket to a new world picking a random one in hopes fate would still provide as she had done when he was down.
From what his outdated cyber implant told him he was in a newly developed world called helios in the yin star system. Compared to his world this planet was less advanced but his world had existed for around 2 million years but this little hundred-year-old world was already close to them.
Soon he heard a voice call out to him and saw a young man. he tried to use his sight to peer into odin but found many distortions around him blocking him from seeing his cultivation or even possible fate.
"Kid be careful with using your ability do that to some other ancient fuck wit and you'll be dead," Odin said as he held out his hand for a handshake.
"So my names is Odin and this is my sect what's your name?" Odin said as mike shook his hand.
"Michael but call me mike but how did you know about my ability?" mike said casually he already knew the answer but was just confirming it.
"You already know I'm a late-stage cultivator," Odin said as he turned around and walked mike followed behind.
At the mention of late-stage, he became astounded he guesses Odin was a mid-stage cultivator and not a late-stage one. His heart started to beat faster and he became still as wood not moving an inch.
"Relax I'm not mad." Odin said as he laughed
Mike could not think at all and Odin had to snap him out of his thoughts.
"Look kid I'm quite strong but I'm not like those dude that have so much arrogance and no brains I don't care as long as it doesn't annoy me or harm anyone I'm caring for." Odin said as he patted Mike's shoulder and continued to walk to the sect admittance building.
Entering the building Odin got a tablet and handed it to mike.
"Now mike I would like for you to join my sect you have great potential and I think this is what you want a path to glory right if you click on that yes then you will join us please read over the rules and whatnot," Odin said as he leaned on the reception counter.
Mike looked at the tablet and saw two options a green yes and a red no. He saw a question mark at the top and clicked it.
[what are the obligations to the sect?]
[what are the rules of the sects?]
[what do we give you?]
Mike clicked the first question and was taken to another tab.
[soon to be apprentice as we are starting out we don't have many people. this means we must shoulder many departments and their work. as the sect grows this will change but the main obligations are to strengthen the sect in physical and political power. You will be given missions depending on your strength to spread the sect's reputation to not just the planet but the entire Northern star sector.]
Mike returned to the previous questions and clicked the second one.
[our sect values freedom and independence but we must also keep you in check there are a few rules to follow.
1.no killing
2.no stealing
3. any arguments are to be settled in the arena
4.no starting galactic wars for petty reasons
5. do not commit mass omnicide on the planet(rule 1 is only for the sect each disciple can only kill a maximum of 10,000 people on this planet a year)
6. Do not summon the dark lord or any beast unless told to by Odin
7. No woman or men that are unrelated to the sect may be brought in ( incubi and succubi are excluded but only 2 men or women every three days)
8. Do not sell sect secrets unless told by Odin
9. Religious activities can not be done on this planet (those that worship the ancient ones are exempted as they produce no corruption)
10. Do not monologue it's stupid ]
Reading the rules mike was confused he got the first two and even number seven but the rest were outlandish to say the least. Mike clicked on the last question and only saw a short sentence.
[The power to walk your own path.]
