She looked around in wonder.
A golden board floated in the ceiling with the word "14th Floor" etched in black.
Freya walked in, following Bree's footsteps to the white reception desk on the other end.
As Freya neared her, she saw the beautiful blonde man at the reception desk hand Bree a white card.
"Hey," Freya said to them.
Bree looked at her briefly and left without a backward glance.
"Which interview are you a part of?" the receptionist asked in a rude tone.
"Um...I'm Freya Wang, and I want to be a substitute teacher?"
The man at the desk gave her a condescending look. "Don't even know which interview is scheduled for huh?"
"I haven't...scheduled any."
The receptionist raised an eyebrow at those words. His eyes held a curious glint. "So you are part of the Test Takers! Here!"
The man handed her a white paper. It had the symbol of a lotus on it.
"Knowledge paper? why would I need this?"
The receptionist stared at her for a second and then handed her a yellow card, taking the other back.
Freya frowned. On the yellow card the words [109870, Room 456.]
"I gave it by accident," the woman said. "This one has the right instructions. It has the number of your seat and your room. You need to meet the specialist there."
Freya nodded and left towards the place she was instructed to.
A woman with curly hair stood at the door of room 456. On seeing Freya walk towards her, She woman raised an eyebrow.
"Yes?"
"Hi, I am here for the Substitute Teacher position."
The woman nodded and opened the door. "All you have to do is write the answers you think are correct in the paper and wait for the results."
Freya nodded and went in.
There were rows and rows of people in the room, all their heads buried in large tomes.
Freya walked past them, with her head held down.
She looked up to find an angry pair of eyes on her.
"Hi, Bree!" She said with a smile.
Bree turned away.
The woman by the door raised her hand and a large circle with intricate details in it appeared on the ceiling.
The room was filled with white light.
Freya closed her eyes.
When she opened them again, she saw a bundle of papers.
"Please place your Application Letter on Top of the paper bundle."
Everyone obeyed.
There was another flash.
A new form appeared instead of the Application Letter.
"Now write your name on the left blank space in the form."
Freya wrote her name.
There was a small golden sheen on the paper and then it turned into a paper full of questions. Some about magic and some about other sciences.
"Please start writing. Your time starts now."
Freya wondered what to do. She hadn't brought a pen with-
There was a flash of light near her hand and a black Quill Pen appeared there.
Freya took it up with a smile and turned to read the questions.
Time passed. The only sound in the room was the constant scratching of pen on paper and the occasional coughs.
"Times up!" the woman with the curly black hair shouted.
The paper and pen disappeared from everyone's desk.
A blue interface appeared in front of them instead.
Freya stared with starry eyes. Systems! They had Systems!
