Clementine glanced around. "So, where are the others?" she asked.
"Come, I'll show you," Lucy replied, motioning for them to follow.
Clementine signaled to the rest of the group, and they trailed behind Lucy. She led them through a winding path that opened up into a small village.
"We call this place Luckyville," Lucy said with a hint of pride.
Tommy frowned. "What a strange name."
Lucy smiled softly. "We call it that because we're lucky to have made it this far."
Lucy sighed. "We try to survive, but lately it's been hard."
"Why is that?" Javi asked, concern etched on his face.
"A group of men came by and declared that we now belong to them," Lucy explained. "So we've been working hard for them ever since."
"Why don't you fight back?" Clementine asked, her eyes narrowing.
"They have lots of guns, that's why," Lucy replied, her voice tinged with fear.
"Do they have a name? Are they like a band or something?" Javi asked.
"They call themselves the New Frontiers," Lucy said, the name heavy on her tongue.
"The New Frontier?" Clementine's voice tightened. "Where are they? Can you tell me, please?"
Lucy looked at her curiously. "Do you know them?"
"Yes," Clementine replied, her eyes darkening. "And they took something from me."
Lucy nodded solemnly. "They have a camp not far from here, deep in the woods. It's heavily guarded, though. You can't just walk in."
Clementine's jaw tightened. "I don't plan to walk in. I plan to take back what's mine."
Javi stepped forward, his brow furrowed. "We'll need a plan. Going in blind would be suicide."
Lucy looked between them, fear evident in her eyes. "If you're serious about this, you'll need help. There are a few of us here who would fight back if given the chance."
Clementine considered this, nodding slowly. "Alright. Gather whoever is willing to stand up to them. We'll need all the help we can get."
As the group dispersed to rally potential allies, the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting long shadows over Luckyville. Clementine stood at the edge of the village, staring into the encroaching darkness. Her thoughts were interrupted by a distant, unsettling noise.
She turned to Lucy. "Do you hear that?"
Lucy frowned, straining to listen. The sound grew louder, a low, guttural growling mixed with shuffling footsteps. Her eyes widened in horror. "Oh no…"
Javi, running back to them, looked pale. "A herd of walkers! They're heading straight for us!"
The villagers, sensing the danger, began to panic. Clementine grabbed Lucy by the shoulders. "We need to get everyone inside and barricade the entrances. Now!"
The group moved swiftly, urging the villagers to take cover. As the first walkers broke through the tree line, their grotesque forms illuminated by the fading light, Clementine realized the true extent of the threat.
"There's too many of them!" Javi shouted, slamming a door shut and reinforcing it with whatever he could find.
Clementine's heart pounded in her chest as the undead closed in on Luckyville. With the last rays of sunlight slipping away, the village was plunged into chaos. The sound of moaning and the pounding of fists against barricades filled the air.
As the walkers pushed closer, Lucy whispered, "What are we going to do?"
Clementine clenched her fists. "We fight. And we survive."
The growls of the walkers growing louder, their shadowy forms pressing against the flimsy defenses of Luckyville, the fate of its inhabitants hanging by a thread.
