Chapter 13 - Chapter Thirteen

.....

Fffthwarp.

A sharp buzz engulfing your entire body finally subsides, leaving your trembling form numb. Apparently that's how teleporting feels... huh.

As you fall to your knees, hands grasping for the blades of green beneath you, the immortal steps past you in a careless matter, carrying your niece on his hip with him. As your ears calm, ringing fading, new noises fill them. Basic ruffling, mixed in with hushed chatter all around. Building the strength to look up, your eyes dart around a crowd of monsters of all kinds, all trying to go about their business normally but unable to keep themselves from eyeing the new ones in camp. Yes. It appears to be a camp. Many greyish-tan tents are set up all around you, all in many different sizes. The ground is still mostly grass, so they haven't been here long. Several further away are still pitching a couple remaining tents. There is distant clinging as weapons of silver are beat into form, as well as a filling suply of sharpened arrowheads. It is clear these guys are preparing for war.

Herobrine continues walking, expecting you to follow him, which, you do. You can't trust such a wicked individual with your young niece. Who knows, he could use his magic at some point to replace her with a fake if you aren't watching!... That likely won't happen, but still. The immortal appears near a large fire, a little further off to the side where no embers can reach the table decorated in maps and a couple lamps. At the table is a chair that is obviously his. The thing is pure stone with a single cushion in it for him to sit on. The chair looks more like a miniature throne than an actual chair. Like..some kind of portable throne. Quite useless. At least... Before you can blink Herobrine gently sets the little girl down.. before pulling out a chain attached to a single shackle. You make an attempt to shout but nothing quite comes out, and soon your young niece is chained by her left ankle to the stone throne. At least, it appears, the chain is long enough for her to get up and walk around if she needed to, but the poor girl just sat with her back against the solid back of the throne, absolutely petrified by the sights and sounds of all the monsters and their camp.

"There you go." The satisfied immortal finishes his work of bringing in the prisoners. Again, he turns his attention to you. "Take good care of her for me, but not so good of care that you two go running off into the forest. We can't have that happen.." You look down, no ideas for a good response coming to mind. As much as you wish you could shout all you wanted at him for capturing you..again, your body takes a more solid approach. Instead, staring down at the grass is just going to have to do for now. "Good." The immortal sounds pleased, and soon enough he has left you and the young one to yourselves at camp. "Oh!" He suddenly teleports in front of you before your nerves can settle. "No.. trying to escape. If I catch you even trying, and believe me, I will, your little niece won't ever see the rest of her family again."

"So..." You look up slowly, "You are going to let her go..?"

"Not until you have successfully converted to my side...yes." This, at least, gives you a little hope. Herobrine then teleports away, and after a short moment you fast-walk over to Anna, who is still wide eyed, sitting stiffly in a self contained little ball. You sit beside her and scoop the young one into your arms. The least you can do here is help calm her. Feeling at least a little safer, young Anna hugs you as she sits in your lap, nearly on the verge of tears.

"Don't worry, Anna.. the monsters here won't hurt you... You're going to be alright. I'm going to make sure nothing bad happens to you.." You whisper, hoping to soothe her. The little girl only begins sniffling, holding back mall cries.

"Thi-this is a-a-all my fault.." Little Anna began to cry, hugging you tighter. "I.. I was the one who shouted his, n-n-name."

"Oh, shh, this isn't your fault..." You hold her tighter, stroking her hair a little. Looking up, you glare at all the eyes on you, which quickly turn away to go back to what they were doing. "Believe me.. none of this is your fault..."

---------------------------------------------------------------------

You rise with the morning, damp from the grass' dew. Little yellow beams sunshine strike through the leaves of the forest all around, concealing the camp. Monsters begin to quiet down, as if preparing for a good night's rest. It was annoying trying to fall asleep to constant clanging and chatter, but you had at least gotten some sleep. Anna thankfully had fallen asleep much quicker than you in your arms. She still sleeps at your side, arms wrapped around one of yours. After a short while of watching all the tired faces preparing for their rest, you slip away from Anna and have a better look around. The once large fire near you is now nothing but embers, and the smoke billowing from it rises high above the trees. Surely an easy giveaway of their location. Hopefully someone on your side of this war will notice it.

"...(Y/n)?" A feminine voice you recognize whispers over the morning mist, twinkling in the morning light. You spin to her quickly. The smallest of smiles slips onto your face at the recognizable mob. Mandie, towering over the armor-stands around her, stares at you questioningly, as if not expecting you to be here.

"Mandie?.. Wh, what are you doing here?" You whisper back to her. The enderwoman shrugs.

"The whole team is here. We are being lead by Sandrah now, though. Do you know why?" They hadn't told them..

"I.. I'm a prisoner now." You say blankly. If she has to know the truth, then give it to her as it is. Her eyes widen, but other than that Mandie makes no attempt to ask why.

"Do.. do you want to see the others?" The enderwoman asks.

You look down over at the sleeping Anna. "...I can't, not really.. I have to stay here." Unable to see the little girl, Mandie just looks kinda puzzled.

"You sure? Everyone else was beginning to wonder if you died. I think it would be good for them to know you're alright."

"Okay then. Go tell them for me." You speak of the brilliant idea. Mandie notices you aren't in the mood to talk anymore, nor will you follow her, so she walks off into the mist... As weird as teleporting is, you think seeing an enderman actually walk is almost stranger! Anna begins to groan in her sleep, and you return to the floor beside her, pulling the child onto your lap so thst she will stay warm. It isn't cold, per se, but you know at her age you would have preferred to stay as warm and comfortable as possible anyways. From there, leaning against the stone, you allow your eyes to rest, but your ears to stay attentive.

-----another time skip already, weeeee!!------

About maybe ten minutes later, you'd like to say you had kept yourself awake, but in reality, you hadn't. You do fully wake again, however, when there is a light tap on your shoulder. Your tired eyes glare up at whoever it might be, instantly meeting two softly glowing purple ones.

"Awwww, so is this why you didn't want to leave earlier? Aww, such a cutie! Can I hold her?!" Mandie chimes. You quickly hush the enderwoman. In a whispered tone, she asks again, "...Can I hold her?" You roll your eyes.

"No." Is your short answer. As Mandie continues to ask about her name, age, where she came feom, and whatnot you noice all the rest of your old team, beside Sandrah, is standing around curiously, several -- like Billy and the piglin triplets -- appear quite relieved that you are alright. Bart mostly stares blankly stares at you and the little girl who is only a little smaller than himself. "Wait, so, you all came to see if I was alright?" Mandie paused her wave of queations, which had been going on in the background the whole time.

"Well of course! You were our captain afterall! You helped us improve, and even be accepted into Herobrine's army!" Mandie spoke loudly, which you also hushed her for.

"Yeah! I'm a soldier now!" Billy, quite proud of himself, saluted to absolutely no one. You chuckle inside... Oh.. they haven't changed a bit.
