Minutes pass like hours as you stand, bored, and just watch as your "team" leaves you completely out of the mission. Well, at least you won't be held responsible if the mission totally fails and everyone is teeted out of the village by the iron golem, which you kind of wish to see.
Taking you out of your thoughts, you hear rustling nearby... It's them. Purple Team. A tiny smile rises on your face. What are they up to?.. You watch as the dark grey feet of the wither skeletons rush past, through the forest. Silently, you creep around the tree you were leaning against, and pull out your bow and nearly a stack of arrows. With that same silence, you begin your hunt.
><>3rd person POV (your team)<><
K'THONK!
The iron golem rattled ferociously as it braced for impact. That impact came with a heavy toed enderwoman slamming an iron cladded boot into it's shoulder. Her punches may have been strong -- like any enderman -- but a kick aided in iron protection.. now THAT was a weapon!
"I got it! I got it!" Billy/the overweight zombie, panted to the others as he passed, holding the very valuable poppy in his enlarged hands. The iron golem spotted the red flower immediately, and glared a death glare at him, before springing up, leaving Skull the skeleton and Mandie the enderwoman to chase after it. "Aaaaaiiiiiii!!!" Billy squealed when he saw the iron beast, followed by quaking floor that followed with it's footsteps.
"Hold on, Billy!" Mandie screached desperately, pulling out her sword. On instinct, she teleported closer to the iron golem, only to punch it with an open fist, making her bones shiver on impact. "Ow!" She quickly pulled away, running back for her sword.
Not having been stopped yet, the iron golem easily caught up with Billy, taking no time between running and swinging it's massive arm his way. Billy ducked just in time, having a hard time keeping up the pace and almost collapsing with the duck(not the animal). Right as the iron golem was about to swing again, this time with more accuracy, a small throwing knife flung from further away, stabbing the iron golem directly in the eye socket. The metallic beast screeched deeply, flailing it's arms furiously before pulling the little knife. Since it was an iron golem and not some sort of biological creation, the eye still worked just fine, though a little cracked. Furiously, the golem looked left and right for whoever could have thrown that little blade. It's eyes finally landed on Skull, the taller skeleton with dozens of throwing knives strapped around each of his ribs. Skull stared back, wide eyed, and bolted off as soon as the golem charged forwards, allowing Billy to run away safely. Once the tension was no longer around the overweight zombie, everyone's worries turned to Skull, who wasn't able to throw knives and run away at the same time. The large beast finally caught up with it's target, the thing smacked Skull, sending him flying across the village, crashing only into a lantern in the way. That lantern just so happened to land right next to a massive hay stack; a spark catching the precious wheat on fire, but thankfully not touching any of the houses.
"SKULL!!!" Bart, the unaveragely small skeleton, trembled, running for his closest friend here with desperate speed. The iron golem was not yet finished, as it still saw the limp skeleton on the floor moving slightly. Be that in great pain, but still alive nonetheless. Mandie was the only one who was able to make it in time to protect Skull, because the three little pigs hadn't even noticed the commotion yet, which was a bit strange since they have amazing hearing. Mandie just managed to catch the iron golem's arm as it was about to crash down on Skull, just barely able to keep the weight of it up.
"Hh- hurry, Bart!!" She shouted over her shoulder. Bart ran as fast as he could over to Skull and wrapped his thin bone-arms around his friend, trying to lift him up and drag him away. This was almost impossible, however, because Bart was both very small and very weak. He was only able to drag him a few pixels away before falling onto his bum, exhausted.
"I- it's okay, Barty, I- I- I can get up." Skull said, attempting to stand, but falling down with a muffled gasp as his already cracked leg bone cracked underneath him.
"N- no.." Bart whimpered weakly. "Come on, buddy. I- I can carry you. D- don't worry!" Bart tried to comfort, standing up again and beginning to pull Skull away again. Things were cut extremely short when the iron golem finally used it's other fist to shove Mandy away into the wall of a nearby house, taking absolutely no time in slamming it's metallic fist down on the wounded skeleton, cracking any and all life out of those bones!... Bart was speachless as the iron golem completely ignored him, instead turning to Mandy, who teleported around the village to keep the iron golem at-bay.
A shiver ran down the skeleton's spine as the realization that this wasn't a nightmare came, a tremendous ache drowned the small one's mind as he couldn't take his eyes away from the now dead bones of his best friend. His breathing became unstead, first fast, but then they slowed down with a series of spiteful shivers as he slowly looked up from the corpse. A hatred unmatched by any of the others yet took hold of his expression, as he slowly looked up at the thing that had sealed his friend's fate.
"RRHHHAAAAA!!!" The little skeleton stood furiously, drawing his bow. He shot an arrow at the iron golem, immediately followed by another, and another. They did little damage, but they got the golem's attention. Once it realized the little one was indeed a threat, the battle was on. The iron golem turned from the enderwoman slowly and stomped towards Bart as he continued firing arrows.
As happy as she was that the iron golem wasn't chasing her anymore in her weakened state, she trembled, seeing the little Bart now taking on the iron beast. "No! Bart! You can't take that thing on! RUN!" Mandie cried, holding a sore arm with her other. But Bart completely ignored her. Instead, he just stood there, pulling back arrow after arrow to be shot at the iron golem. The golem only walked slowly as it was losing very little health, instead taking this moment to silently mock the puny skeleton. Bart began getting desperate, firing even faster, with much less force. Mandie teleported beside the golem and punched it's side, even pulling on it's arm, but it was dead-set on reaching and crushing Bart. That thing was a killing machine! "RUUNN!!" Mandie exhaled a girly enderman screech, which finally snapped Bart out of it, making him realize far too late what a fool he was being. Before he could even turn and run, the iron golem lifted both it's fists, aaand.-
A human wearing a dark outfit jumped from on top of the house right behind Bart, kicking bath both the iron golem's fists with their legs, sending the golem backwards off ballance. The human landed right away, placing a half slab behind the golem's foot as it tried to regain it's ballance, making it fall right onto a cobweb which the player also placed behind it. Right as the golem landed back first into the sticky cobweb, the player stripped the black cloak off of them, revealing their identity and their many weapons. It was Sandrah! She looked infuriated as she drew a long sword, which was crafted mostly with iron -- but also enforced with a diamond skeleton which held the large iron parts together -- and used that to slice right through the golem's head. One would wish that would be enough, however on the more realistic but gory side of things, the golem was still alive, and Sandrah had to pull her sword back out and stab it over and over again until it finally stopped moving.
Once the iron monster was no longer hosting any signs of life, everyone relaxed.
"Is everyone okay!?" Sandrah looked around wildly at everyone, checking to see if anyone was hurt or worse. Bart lowered his head with the memory still fresh in his mind.
"...No.. Skull... died." Bart said, nearly falling to his knees in agony. Sandrah could think of nothing to do but drop down to her knees right in front of the small skeleton and hug him tightly. Quietly, Bart just stood there stiffly, keeping out the crying but also not pulling away. "I.. I, couldn't save.. him..." The small skeleton let slip out. "I was too small.. too weak..."
"Ohh.. None of that was your fault." Sandrah tried to comfort.
"Well who's fault is it then?! Yours!? Everyone would have probably been just fine if you had been the one to take on the iron golem! Y- you took that thing out in just a couple seconds! Why didn't you think of that!?" Bart's whimpering voice grew with a mixture of anger and sadness as he pushed away. Sandrah only blinked in thought.
"Well.. I- I don't know... I just knew he and Mandie really wanted to-"
"Ugh! Now I see what (Y/n) meant by 'the plan was flawed!' You didn't actually think! None of us did!! And- and, now..." Bart trailed off, his words fully shifting to sorrow as he crouched down to hug his own knees, and just sat there silently with nothing but shivering in him, showing that it really wasn't a good idea to bother him anymore. After some silence with just Sandrah and Mandie looking both around and at eachother, the three still there, including Bart, silently buried the bones of Skull in mourning, before finally Sandrah spoke again.
"...Alright, we better go find Billy and the triplets. After that, it is just a simple run back to the portals.. Good thing this challenge wasn't really long or anything.." She sighed the whole things. Slowly, the three left the village to head back into the forest, where you were already there waiting for them.
><>2nd person POV (back to you!)<><
You and the three little pigs were laughing hysterically as you four came running back to the outskirts of the forest. Though you hadn't asked them for any helped, they looked a little bored whenever they asked to join you, and you greatfully allowed them to do so, coming up with a new plan right then. Now, you four are laughing, chatting about the previous events like drunken-men. It is only a couple seconds after you four come back, seeing Billy already panting there, when the rest of the crew comes, minus one, dragging their feet and looking rather depressed.
"Hm, that taller skeleton die?" You ask once shifted to a solid face. The three pigmen did the same, except making it look like they were trying to hide their guilty expressions.
"His name was Skull!" The short skeleton snaps up at you, obviously the most hurt of them. You can't help but feel at least a little sympathy. Afterall, the short one does look rather hurt mentally. You then look up at Mandie, who is leaning slightly, holding her right arm with her left.
"Oh, really, enderman? How come you were the one injured the most out of everyone?" You growl a little, annoyed that these few were so unorganized and likely suffering because of it.
"Jusst.. Stop, alright?! I was wrong. You were right. Now let's just get going and not talk about it?.. They really don't want to hear any of it right now..." Sandrah speaks for the two, and herself. You just shrug, turning to guide the group of surviving misfits back to the portal. They are being slow, so you and the pigmen pick up speed, forcing the others to speed up as well. Behind you, you hear a couple of the pigmen whispering and snickering, then completely denying the strange behavior once asked by one of the others what was so funny. Just by looking at the three, you can tell they trust you more now, and you trust them. At least they are much easier going and enjoy making games out of everything, which you can at least respect.. as unprofessional as it may be. Finally, you see the portal, and all of you rush through it, pushing aside a member of the Purple Team so you all can squeeze through first.
You all rejoice once through! You have made it there and back with minimal casualties, which would have been reduced even more had they actually thought of a working plan. Unfortunately, you are not the first ones. In fact, you are nearly the last! Everyone from the other teams, who are already there clustered together, grimace in your direction. They mostly appear angry that you all didn't come in last.
"And, second to last place is the yellow team!" The announcing enderman hollars, collecting the attention from the audience as well. There is verry little more than a few weak claps in celebration. Well, at least you didn't come in last. You notice Herobrine taking notice of your group's condition, then he notices your noticing and you notice his, and the whole endless loop clumps into an imaginary black hole until you finally stop glaring at one another at the same time.
Stumbling out of the portal, all scratched up and wheezing, is the very last member of the purple team. His eyes look even more miserable when he realizes he is the one in last place.
"Aaaaand! Looks like Purple Team is the loser! With only one member remaining, and absolutely no item!" The announcer announces with far too much enthusiasm in your opinion.
"W- wait! I can explain!" The remaining purple member studdered, obviously panicking from more than losing. "We were attacked! A group of skilled players ambushed us, and even tied me to a tree!.. W- we need to go back and make sure they don't find the Nether portal!"
"Were you able to identify how many players there were?" The announcer asked, still loud like he was announcing, not taking the matter seriously. Herobrine only set his hand onto his chin and thought about it while crossing his legs and leaning to his side in his chair a little.
"N- no..." The wither skeleton acknowledges.
"Well, if you can't even provide that basic information, I am afraid forgiveness will not count! What is his punishment?.. Herobrine?~" Everyone's attention is turned by the announcer to their king in an instant, who is caught slightly off guard at that moment.
"Uh- huh'm!" He clears his throat while standing up. He looks the wither skeleton directly in the eyes, likely searching for his greatest fear, before coming to a swift conclusion. "Banishment to the Soul Sand Valley." He says bluntly, getting a few gasps from the audience and a shiver from the remaining purple team member, who is dragged away immediately; a complete and utter failure.
Your shoulders drop an instant after the decision is finalized. Fiew! Your plan worked! Now, you get to at least survive a little longer. Slowly, the captains of each team stand before their crew, holding the item they had been told to retrieve, all the teams lined up for Herobrine to pass by each one. He either gave some kind of advise or an insult to the team he took the item from as he passed by. Finally, he reaches yours, taking the poppy from your hands.
"Very smart what you did back there." Herobrine smiles slightly. You just raise an eyebrow. He is talking directly to you, and not the entire team like he had done with all the others. Of course, he is also talking about a very specific action. "I need someone who plays rough on the battle field.. Smart work." Everyone but the three little pigs are curious by what he means. Good thing he is being quiet enough so that only you and your team hear his compliment. After he leaves, those who don't know look at you curiously.
"(Y/n)," Sandrah asks curiously. "What WAS he just talking about?.. What did you do?" You hesitate, not wanting anyone to know, however, if Herobrine himself knows, then it shouldn't be that big of a deal.. right?
"WE all pretended to be a team of players, and ambushed the Purple Team to assure our victory." One of the three little pigs boasts triumphantly, making all those who didn't know's mought's drop open. Quickly, Sandrah turns to you with a big scowl.
"(Y/n)! So what we weren't caught! It was STILL against the rules to attack the other teams!" Her.
"Yeah, so what. Herobrine just congratulated me-" You.
"He just let it slide because you weren't caught!-" Her.
"Exactly. We weren't caught. So just be happy we weren't in last place and leave it." You.
"What kind of SICK mind do you have to just cheat, and then completely be alright with it?! Those were OUR soldiers! Maybe not on our team, but they would have been fighting on our side if you hadn't just killed them!" Her.
"Yeah, like that matters! I don't care about this side, or this team! I just want to leave!!" You end with a shout, immediately turning away and stomping towards Herobrine's castle, just wanting the argument to end already.
