Chereads / Born A Soldier (Reader X Herobrine) / Chapter 5 - Chapter Five

Chapter 5 - Chapter Five

"Again." You order. The pigman you are speaking directly to reels back his fist and punches the wood block so hard it cracks a little. He is getting tired, and you can see he just wants to be done with it already. "Again!" You command. He punches again, but the block only budget a little once more. You nine are still in that same open field of Netherrack where you had met them. Have been for a couple days now. Around you are a few other teams training; all the leaders with the authority do schedule when their team heads out to train and how that training is done. You take your liberty to a whole new level, pretty much training your team every day; most of the day. You have nothing better to do anyways. Plus, you know your team needs it. "Agai-"

Sandrah interrupts your demand with a loud groan, "Ugh! Monsters can't break and place blocks! The only ones who sort of can do that are endermen, and they are pretty lousy at it!"

"Heeey!" The female enderwoman piped from the crowd, somewhat offended.

"Well then these guys are just going to have to be the first!" You snap back, not in a good mood. "Again!" The pigman sighs in utter defeat, and punches the dark red block once again. After that, your mind realizes how stupid it is being trying to make a monster do something only humans are able to do. At least.. now you know for sure that these things can't simply take down structures without tools of some kind. Information that might become useful sometime; when, you manage to escape and tell your fellow soldiers. Maybe.. you can even serve as a secret agent, in case Herobrine somehow keeps up his threats. Who knows, you may be known all around the world for being the secret spy who leaked all the enemy's secrets, and killed Herobrine. Oh yes. Now this was starting to slide into your favor. Only problem is that you have no counterpart who is willing to help you carry secrets. You could ask that girl, Sandrah, but by the looks of it, she is dedicated to serving Herobrine. After some thinking, you decide to roll with what you have so far, and we where it takes you. Who knows, maybe someone will be sent to save you, and through then you can set up the spy system. :}

"Hey, um, (Y/n), not to bother you, buuuu-" The overweight zombie in your group attempted to grab your attention with his very young and deep voice before being interrupted by a high pitch screech.

"Sandrah disappeared!" The female enderwoman shouts, snapping you out of your thoughts. You turn around quickly to scan your group but see no robed human anywhere. The only human within miles is probably you.

"Uh, everybody practice kicho-yhong-eeboo! I'll go check the castle!" You find the perfect excuse to scout around the castle, taking your chance immediately. You run off, leaving a confused group of mobs behind you.

"...Uuuuhh, anyone here know what a keecho-yon-weebo is?" One of the pigmen finally asks everyone. They all just shrug and go through the basic moves with eachother.

Short of breath, you race through the halls. The Nether's heat not making it any easier on you. Luckily however, the fridgid Nether Bricks manage to cool you off slowly after you enter. You look around, pretending to be in a hurry when in reality you are scanning the area for every possible hiding spot, secret passage, storage room, structural weaknesses, etc. After a short break from running, you stop and have a quick breathing break. The interior of the castle is almost perfect in temperature thanks to the naturally cold Nether Bricks and constant flow of warm air from outside. No wonder so many of the hallways link with one another. The whole castle is practically a giant spounge! It is things like that which you take note of, thinking of ways to explain your knowledge to someone else in a useful way. So far, you haven't learned too much, unfortunately. Your feet sag a few steps, before you hear some chatter not too far away. Both the voice's talking sound familiar. One male, and one female. Wait, is Sandrah talking to Herobrine?! Confused, you rush around a corner and down a short hallway which connects to another one. From behind that corner, you peek into this new hallway, interested as to how a human could possibly be talking with Herobrine so casually.

"-Is that so? Well, that sure sounds like one confusing family tree." Herobrine chuckles.

"I know right?! And on the other side of my family I have, like, fifty aunts! I don't even know how many cousins!" Sandrah speaks, apparently open enough to talk with the god of destruction about something as personal as family. Yikes! What kind of person is this; is she even human?!

"Wait." Herobrine stops in his tracks, his hand out in front of Sandrah as he scans the perimeter. You duck back behind your corner, hoping he hadn't seen you.

"Wh- what is it?" Sandrah asks warily.

"Eh, probably just a lost zombie pigman. They all eventually find where they are going." Herobrine chuckles, lightening the mood once again. You just listen in as the two continue talking, apparently just standing there now. You mostly zone out as the conversation is nothing but a bunch of family chat back and forth. Herobrine and his anger towards Notch yhadda yhadda, you heard all this before. Same-old same-old. Eventually, you decide to break things up with your own entrance.

You very quietly walk a little further down the hall, before jogging in place a few steps making yourself breathe as if you have been running a while, and rush right into the hall the two are talking in. Both of them freeze in place and you place your hands on your knees and make a big show of panting hard as you look up at the two of them. Ew, they are one block too close for comfort. Good thing you "showed up" when you did, or they might have actually held hands or something gross.

You almost smile when you see Herobrine's reaction to your thought. Of course he is reading your mind, especially when you just barged in like that. You make it a top effort not to think of anything that could reveal your real intentions of you being here.. or that you had just been snooping in on their conversation for the past five or so minutes.

"..Oh... Sandrah.. boy am I-.. happy to see you.." You fake pant, afterwards standing to your feet. "You just vanished and we were all wondering where you were." You speak. Sandrah gives you an awkward look, and she glances between you and Herobrine. "What we're you two talking about anyways, work ethics?" You ask, pretending to be completely oblivious.

"Yep!" "Totally!" The two step far away from one another, agreeing with your made up assumptions. You have to hold back a smile for that one. You don't want to assume, because that can sometimes be seen as rude, but it almost seems as if the two might actually enjoy eachother's presence?! Oh, what a traitor that Sandrah is!

"Well, if you don't mind.. I would like for you to return, please. I believe I am finally coming up with some actually decent teaching strategies." You change to both looking and sounding formal. As much as you don't want them to suspect anything, including your amaaazing acting skills, you just can't help but have a little fun here and there.

"Oh, really?" Sandrah looks up at Herobrine, who smiles down at her with a small smile. Huh, they must have been talking about you and your bad teaching; maybe that was even how the conversation had originally started. After that short affirmation from Herobrine you get to move along; you lead Sandrah back out of the castle. Thanks to your amaaazing remembering skills, you get lost, like twice, but don't worry, Sandrah has the place memorized. :>

Aaaand, when you two finally make it back outside into that big open dark red field, the fun begins! And by fun, I mean making everyone do a million pushups! :D
