Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Haru, on the next day, woke up feeling a bit depressed and decided to go first to the river. He carried the bucket with him and filled it with water. He unbuttoned his shirt and pant, put them in the bucket, and jumped in the river. His depressed mood was forgotten as he freely swim in the river.

"Woah! It's a fish!" He exclaimed as he saw a fish beside a big rock in the river and moved slowly towards it. He raised his hand and immediately grabbed it, the fish struggling in his hold. He quickly moved to the land and after a while, the fish stopped struggling. He grinned as he put the fish on the rock.

He should cut another tree to make a fishnet and also to make cups and plates. He also needed to clean the hut. He felt tired of just thinking about doing so much work.

After planning it, he threw two fireballs, effectively cutting the tree, and immediately made another fishnet. This time, he also needs to make it much stronger than before.

Seeing that the fishnet would take time to make, he put the killed fish on fire like before and started making a fishnet. He ate the fish in between the work and was finally able to make a much stronger net.

He quickly searched for a place where only 2-3 fishes were and after finding it, he quickly threw the net on them. Just as he expected, the fish started struggling but he immediately started pulling the net. This time he was successful and was able to the 3 fishes.

Today, he would not go hungry. He looked at the clothes in the bucket, remembering that he was still naked and after rinsing the clothes without any soap, he put them in the place where most of the light was. He shivered in cold, swearing to make some leaf clothes too.

He decided to try making some cups and plates too with roots and leaves.

He started tying the roots and leaves together and after many trials and methods, he was able to make an ugly-looking glass.

"Yes! I did a good job! I have survived in this forest for 3 days without any real knowledge of survival. Does this mean…" Haru took a pause when he realized one incredible thing,

"I am a genius!" He whispered to himself.

He childishly giggled at the prospect of being a genius. "I am a genius! I am a genius, everybody! Kneel and don't raise your head!"

He took a branch nearby and started playing an imaginary game of being a prodigy and everyone bowing to him. He giggled as he ran here and there when he tripped on a small rock.

"Ouch!" He yelped in pain as he hold his knees where they hurt the most. "It hurts," Haru whimpered.

Haru had never cried for such a small thing. After his mother left him, he learned to be strong. His childhood had pretty much ended when his mother left him. After transmigrating into a small, his mentality had somewhat become of a child. His small body wasn't ready to bottle up his pain and would break down whenever he felt pain or sad.

'Why the hell am I even crying for? I am not a kid anymore!'

Haru forced himself to stand up, winching when his wound hurt, and walked to the river. He quickly washed the clean and dry clothes.

He threw the dirty water from the bucket and filled it again with water. He carried the bucket of water, some branches, and his fishes to home.

He set down the bucket on the hut ground and walked to the kitchen. After searching carefully, only found some salt. He cooked the fish and started cleaning the bed outside. He made some water balls to shoot on the hut corner too leaving him exhausted. A child reserve is really small and he will feel tired after using magic for some time.

It took him some days to thoroughly clean the house as there was only one bucket. He made some leaf buckets too to store water in the hurt but they were vulnerable and would become a mess if taken outside.

Haru also found some other fruits and vegetables too. He found tomatoes, potatoes, grapes, and radishes.

He also found a crab. That night was one of his best nights.

Haru had lived in this forest for 6 months and 16 days. He had counted every day since he transmigrated. Being in the middle of the forest, he doesn't know any date or week. He doesn't want to lose the sense of time so he started writing the count on his wall.

It was in the middle of the night when he heard malicious laughing. Haru had been ready to go to sleep. He felt goosebumps at hearing such cruel laughing.

He stood up slowly and walked soundlessly, his body trembling in fear. He looked at a bucket and put it firmly towards the door so that it won't open.

'These men are very near to me. It doesn't seem like they know I am here.' Haru thought. 'If they knew me I am here, they would have already broken down the door.'

Haru heard some more cruel laughing and then heard them talking. They were too far away for him to make out what they were saying. After some time, the laughing stopped and the horse's neigh came. The men seem to get on getting on the horse and rode away.

Haru stood for 5 minutes hearing nothing before opening the door. He walked carefully from where voices were coming. He froze in fear when he saw a man lifelessly sitting with the support of the tree. Haru knew he should leave him alone but Haru was a kind boy and he could never leave such a person who needed his help alone.

'If the man had died, then I will make him a grave and if he is alive, I will do everything to make sure the man lives,' Haru selflessly thought.

He walked closer to the man and gasped when the moonlight fall on him. The man seemed to be in his twenties and was handsome but the most eye-catching thing was his hair, silver silky hair just like Haru.
