Chapter 8 - Distance

Tears had long stained the page, she had shed a few tears while writing this heartfelt note. All of her most recent emotions had been laid out on the table, the feeling of betrayal, her disappointment in herself, the guilt of letting someone harm her daughter, and the determination to not let the same fate befall the child in her stomach, after coming to a conclusion she decided to leave. Making the journey back to her clan would be the best course of action right now.

"Hah, She actually left? Good I don't need a woman on my ass about every little thing, I even saved her life 3 times, and keeping her from attacking Sinsohka was me calling her weak? That stupid fuc-" Dante was going on a rant about the argument last night when he was cut off by the system

"Sinsohka did a pretty good job," Dante said with a satisfied smile he instantly thought of creating a skill or two.

"System, create-"

1 month later(stronam is the kingdom closest to the border of the continent)

Arriving in the port town of Trilonkra, where the street lights lit up the booming streets. Two cloaked figures passed along hundreds of people, one being carried in the arms of the other, The two were busy looking for an inn to sleep for the night, as they would be boarding a ship in the morning.

"Mulvolk Inn" the sign of the inn was hung above the sturdy wooden door, the two walked into the inn, and up to the receptionist's desk,

"How much for 1 night?" The woman asked the receptionist

"2-20 silver please," The receptionist shook, watching the massive figure looming over her with a visible glare in her eyes.

The woman took her 20 silver out of her pouch, sliding them across the counter, She took the keys to her room as she marched up the stairs, as the receptionist called out to her.

"U-Um would you like anything to eat?!"

"No," the woman said with, a cold aura rolling over the room.

As the woman opened the door to her room she collapsed onto the bed exhausted from her nonstop trip to Trilonkra.

"Mommy" the child called her mother

"Yes, sweety?" the mother answered

"Why did we leave Papa? I miss Papa" the child whined

"W-We had to leave him, he wouldn't have come with us either way," The mother told her child, the two of them feeling emotions of grief.

"Bu-But Papa loves us?" The little girl asked her mother, as tears started flowing from her eyes.

"I don't think Papa felt the same way, but Odella please don't hate him too much," Soma told her child to forgive him, with a regretful face as if she was the one who wished to be forgiven.

The two soon fell asleep in each other's embrace, As Odella waved goodbye to the receptionist the two made their made their way to the port, boarding the ship to Narcia and bidding farewell to the land they had known for so long.

1 month earlier

"Estrella's blood," Dante answered immediately.

Then out of the void a syringe of bright orange fluid with white stars shining throughout the fluid. Dante grabbed the syringe pressed it into his arm and injected the fluid into his veins. The fluid made contact with Dante's bloodstream, and he fell to the ground drenched in sweat instantly as the power was too much for his body, he fought the bloodline to assimilate into his own, he bled, his bones snapped, he died, he was reborn he bled, his bones broke, and he died. This same sequence repeated itself several thousand times as he fought and lost the grand battle, which was not only a battle of the physical state, but he also battled thousands of clones of himself in his head, and he killed himself. he saw unspeakable things, countless battles, and countless wars of generations long forgotten, as millions of beings died every second. He is a man yet he is not. He is everything yet he is nothing.

As Dante raised his head from the dirt, everything about him had changed, his golden irises saw through everything, his dark skin held a majestic glow, his dark white and red hair flowing in the non-existent, his height was now 6'8, his muscles defined as if they had been sculpted as if he had been created in a lab tribal tattoos of beasts unknown of this plane clad over his profound muscles, power overflowing from within him begging for an outlet to escape.

'Interstellar clones' Dante thought causing hundreds of silhouettes of himself to be cast in the light of the moon.

Dante dismissed the clones, as he cast another skill.

'Asuras wrath!' he thought, but before he could activate it fully the system interrupted him

[ Host I ask that you refrain from using that skill for now, as the area around you cannot withstand the power ]

"I do not care," Dante said as the so-called "arms" were summoned, floating behind him as white flames flooded the surrounding area burning everything before it even touched it Then,

"Poof!"

The flames disappeared as if the flames never existed they were gone in an instant.

"That's so...fucking awesome," Dante commented with a gleeful smile drawn across his face

Sinsohka had shrunk down to the size of a python as it wrapped itself across Dante's chest while its head poked over his shoulder. Dante had gathered the bodies of the monsters the beast had slain.

"Hwoo!" Dante blew a wisp of a flame the size of a cotton ball that floated towards the mansion engulfing it in a giant flame, scorching the ground beneath it the flame quickly disappeared. Dante teleported to the capital, wishing to sell the slain beast's corpses to the guild.

"W-What the hell I-is that?!"

"Is he alright!?"

"Oh my, he's quite handsome,"

When Dante walked into the guild the member exclaimed at the large snake coiled around the extremely tall man that had walked in. After giving the receptionist the corpses, the receptionist confronted him.

"You look a lot different mister, taller and more handsome, I'd say," the receptionist tried to seduce Dante with her plump figure, completely ignoring the serpent wrapped around him.

"Just had a good sleep," Dante replied nonchalantly, ignoring her advances.

"If you say so, anyway here are your rewards for the monsters," She said as she handed him 15 platinum coins.

Dante threw the coins into his storage, as he was on his way out the receptionist asked him if he would like another quest, and she handed him the paper.

[ Quest Alert ]

[ Side quest alert: kill the Barbaric king, and obtain his legion of barbarians ]

[ Reward: 10,000 creation points and ????? ]

'What's up with the question marks?' Dante asked the system

[ I do not know, host ]

'Hmm, I guess we'll just have to find out,' Dante thought while deciding to take the quest

"Can you give me a map of Sterana?" Dante asked the Receptionist

"Sure, and thank you for accepting the quest!" She said with a broad smile, glad that she finally got someone to take the quest.

Dante took the map and looked at it, finding the northern border of Sterana, Teleporting from the guild he appeared at the foot of Mount Athenus, the mountain range stretched as far as the eye could see, and the mountain's peak was far above the clouds unable to be seen from where he stood. Dante coated himself in an Aura of white flames, the coat thin enough to not melt the snow but thick enough to keep him warm him warm. As Dante made his way up the mountain he heard many animals roaming the dense forest trying to avoid him, Sinsohka had its head on a swivel looking out for enemies. As Dante made his way up the mountain he came across a camp of people, their skin blue, their hair white, and their bodies riddled with scars, Their armor was dressed with the bones of the many beasts they've battled.

(A/N: They're the size of Norse accurate Thor)

'Barbarians I assume,' Dante thought to himself

Dante approached the ten barbarians but before he could get close to them, something came flying at him.

"Whoosh!"

An axe was sent flying towards Dante, he swiftly dodged it, when a roar came his way.

"Oi! You bastard what the hell do you think you're doing?!" A barbarian confronted Dante.
