*Hundreds of years before the Kirana curse*
Denok is a lady who has served Kirana since she was little. She started serving Kirana when she was 8 years old. Denok is an orphan. King Sanjaya found her on the street when little Denok was taken by a beggar. The beggar acts like Denok is his daughter, even though Denok is just a child hired by the beggar. When King Sanjaya came out to see his people in the midst of a busy market, Denok ran to the King, begging to be saved.
"Sir, may I come with you, I don't want to be a beggar, I can be a servant in your family," said little Denok while hugging King Sanjaya's feet.
According to the king's guard, what Denok did was endangering the King, so the guard drew his sword. Little Denok was very scared. But King Sanjaya raised his right hand to tell his guard that he was fine. Finally, the guard returned to keep his sword.
