"Miss Arya, it's me, Amaris."
"Holy-"
Arya used every strength in her to hold the scream that was about to break out of her lips.
What was going on today?! Arya thought as tears welled up her eyes. Why was this happening to her? She didn't do anything wrong yet she had received one shock after another today. Why?!
Amaris watched in confusion as Arya's expressions transitioned from delight, confusion, shock and now sadness with a hint of frustration? His brain didn't seem to catch up with this human's thought process.
She was the one who told him to change to a form that was smaller than that of his human's by 20 times. He couldn't come up with one on the spot cause he never had to be small except when he was a child so he did exactly that.
He became a baby wolf!
If anyone from Luna Kingdom saw him like this then that would just be the death of him. He, the most revered wolf in the kingdom was strutting around in his baby skin like he was begging to be pampered and fed his mother wolf's milk.
But he didn't want to be under a knife so he swallowed the humiliation and trudged carefully to meet Arya hoping she wouldn't be scared like she was previously whilst glancing back to see if the security was making his way back.
He got to her side and caught her attention successfully. He was thinking he would see her freak out just like before or maybe make a run for it but to his utmost disbelief, she gazed at him for a few seconds without shaking like a dying leaf on a tree.
But she amazed him further when she grabbed him by his face and kept petting and rubbing his back. He had never experienced the feeling of being petted before but he wouldn't lie that he felt really good. So good that he squinted his eyes shut.
He didn't understand why she was so abased to his original form but if she liked this one he wouldn't mind being like this till he found his way back home and redeem the honour of the most sought after wolf in Luna Kingdom.
Remembering that he still wanted to find his way home, he reluctantly broke his focus away from the massages Arya's magic hands provided that even his maids couldn't achieve after years of training and wanted to speak when he heard her say something about a cutie and a owner.
That made him realize that Miss Arya didn't recognize him!
So he told her who he was and now this!
He was taken aback when he saw tears well up in her eyes.
What did he do to make her cry? Amaris thought as he watched Arya remove her hands from his body and cover her face.
"I'm sorry Miss Arya, please don't cry." He said with a look of worry that didn't reflect on his adorable face. But that didn't seem to help as she sobbed harder.
Not knowing what else to do, he took a step forward and rubbed his head on her calf and arm, trying to placate her. He couldn't do much with his short paws so he could only use his head to rub her arm while saying the words 'I'm sorry' over and over again even though he didn't know what he was sorry for.
Arya was exhausted. The emotions swirling inside her since the school ended had piled up and had now exploded. She couldn't take it anymore but she tried to reduce the sound of her cries to avoid another problem, the security.
She tried to break herself free from the overwhelming emotion she was feeling but couldn't. All the back and forth today had drained her and although she acted cool like everything was okay, deep down she still felt a tinge bit of fear towards this …she didn't even know if she should call him a human or beast.
Raising her head, she glanced at the cute furball rubbing its head on her arm whilst saying sorry repeatedly and didn't know when she broke into a wide grin.
'This isn't so bad.' Arya thought just as she raised her hands to wipe her tears. Breathing out an heavy sigh, the tiny bit of fear in her was extinguished and replaced with fluffiness, fluffiness and after that, was more fluffiness.
Placing her palm on Amaris' head, she stopped him from rubbing against her.
"Sir Amaris, you can't keep scaring me like that. My poor heart can't take it." Arya whispered as she smiled while rubbing his head. Call her shameless for rubbing a cute wolf's head which was in fact a grown man…or beast. But if it wasn't for this fact she would have showered his face with kisses already. So she already had a lot of self control as it was.
Amaris was gab smacked. Arya's smile was like a ray of sunshine after a stormy weather. She was really pretty, prettier than most female wolves that he had come across. With her quartz coloured eyes and pearly white teeth, he felt like he was looking at a painting.
He hadn't seen her smile throughout today, her expressions being only fear, shock, confusion, anger and sadness. Although she showed delight, the only thing reflecting that was her quartz eyes that twinkled like a rare gemstone.
"We have to get you out of here before the security gets back. Although you're small…and cute now, I'd still have to explain to him why you're here. And we don't want you in a cage, ending up in an animal shelter now, do we?" Arya voiced in a serious tone.
What did she say? He could also get caught in this form?
Now he also felt like shedding tears.
"What do we do then?" Amaris asked feeling a bit hopeless.
"You hide. It's easier for you to hide now since you're like this." Arya said before she got interrupted.
"Excuse me miss, are you the owner of this bag?" The security asked as he walked down the stairs with a black school bag in his hand.
"Y-Yes sir. It's mine." She stuttered as she hid Amaris behind a flower vase and stood up, trying to use her body to act as an extra shield.
Walking towards Arya, the security handed the bag to her whilst reporting, "I searched through the floors and found your bag on the fourth floor." Raising his head, he observed her face and saw that her nose, cheeks and rims of her eyes were a bit red.
Sighing, he said, "You must have been really scared. I'm really sorry, it's all because of my negligence. I've called my colleague, he'll be walking you home since it's almost getting dark outside."
"No sir. There's no need for that, I'll get home by myself just fine sir." Arya said as her eyes darted around. Unzipping the bag, she pretended to look inside to arrange her books before quickly placing it beside the flower vase without raising any suspicion from the security guard.
"No can do miss. It's pretty late for a girl to go home by herself so I won't rest easy if I let you go alone. I'd have escorted you myself but I'll have to stay back to give a report to the emergency team when they arrive." The security insisted.
As Arya and the security tried to convince eachother, Amaris eyed the black school bag placed by his side. He heard Arya claim it was hers but if it was hers why did she put it down?
He didn't need to rack his brain any further as he heard Arya say at the top of her voice, "That's really not necessary sir. You see, my grandma is really averse to strangers and she tends to HIDE in the BAG when she sees one."
Arya really hoped Amaris got her message. With the E.T coming, he wouldn't stand a chance if he got caught. Not even if she lied that he was her pet.
It took Amaris a few seconds to understand what Arya meant but he wasn't named the best wolf in Luna Kingdom for nothing.
'Hide…Bag..Ohhh'
So he moved slowly to the bag and stealthily jumped inside, causing the bag to fall sideways.
"Bag..?" The security, perplexed as to why the student suddenly increased her pitch was about to inquire further when he saw her bag that she placed on the floor fall sideways.
He overlooked it by giving it a mere glance but the student turned around, bent down to pick the bag, zipped it close and hung it over her shoulder.
"Back! I meant back sir. My grandma hides in the back when she sees strangers." Arya said, panting slightly.
"O..kay?" Giving Arya a skeptical look with a raise of one of his eyebrows at her overreaction, he said with a nod of his head.
"Then please get home safely, Miss…Oh I just realized I don't know your name. What's your name so I can state it while making a report." The security said with a snap of his fingers.
Oh no!
