Oh no!
She could not give her name.
If she did then the security will report her being present during the lightning strike to not only the E.T but also Miss Elis and possibly the school management!
This means, she'll not only implicate herself but also Sylvia who pleaded with her and maybe those two. She thought remembering the two annoying little butt-heads.
All her efforts throughout the day will all go to waste if she gave her name so she would not. 'Not ever!' Arya thought with pursed lips, mentally gluing her mouth shut.
The security watched in wonder as the student's face made a myriad of emotions after he asked for her name?
Did she not hear him?
No she definitely did, they were talking just fine seconds ago, so what could be the problem?
Could this be a side-effect of the lightning? Did it perchance make her hit her head?
At the thought of Arya's non-responsiveness being caused by the lightning, the security became worried. He was about asking if she was alright when she suddenly burst into tears.
Startled, the security took a step back then brought it forward again.
"Why are you crying miss, are you alright?"
Now he was really worried. His gut was right.
The lightning had caused a lasting mental damage to this poor student and it's his entire fault. Although he couldn't stop the lightning, he could have at least come for her but instead he ran away.
Giving the student a proper look, he thought with a light crease of his eyebrows, 'This student is so pretty and would certainly have a bright future but now she's been scarred. Mentally!'
If Amaris was out of the bag right now, he'd be amazed by the scene currently playing out. Arya who was faking tears and choked sobs facing a grown man that was also on the verge of crying. It was an epic scene. But just because he culdn't see them that didn't mean he couldn't hear them.
Arya almost fell out of character when she saw the security's expression. She didn't want to tell him her name to avoid getting herself and Sylvia punished so she did the first thing that came to the back of her mind.
Crying.
Now the security was looking at her like she had some mental illness. If it weren't for her current situation, she'd probably laugh out loud while rolling on the floor.
But she had a butt to save, hers and also that of a wolf so she forced the smile that was about to break out back and said in between sobs, "I…really want…to s-see my…grandma sir."
The security who thought Arya was mentally derailed felt heartbroken at the pretty student's words. "Oh poor thing, you must have been so scared. I'm sorry for keeping you waiting, you may go home now."
As if granted an amnesty, Arya immediately offered a deep bow to the security whilst murmuring, 'Thank you' before bolting out the door.
Yelling a 'Take care' to the retreating back of the student, the security wondered if his future daughter would also look just like Arya. He'd be a proud father of such a pretty daughter. Hopefully, she wasn't traumatized by the incident or he wouldn't forgive himself.
His thoughts were interrupted by siren sounds. Rushing out, he prepared himself to receive the guests he invited.
Palmville City,
The streets of the city were gradually bubbling to essence marking the awakening of a bustling night life. The evening sun cast shadows of every object in sight on the ground, street lights illuminating scarcely dimmed corners and trees on the footpath swaying gently as a light breeze hit their leaves.
Car lights snaking through the roads flanked on each side by people walking briskly on the sidewalk trying to get to their homes on time for a desired rest, others to their favourite hangout to drown themselves in the crashing waves of the night life and the rest were just trying not to get robbed.
On the busy streets Arya who had long dried up her fake tears, maneuvered her way quickly towards her home.
'Nana must be waiting.' She thought as she pulled her bag from her shoulder and unzipped it so the beast inside wouldn't die of suffocation. She still didn't know what to do with him but for now, she didn't want to carry a dead being in her schoolbag.
Turning into a corner, she walked down a path riddled with portholes. When she sighted her house a corner away, she stopped, placed her bag on the ground and unzipped it fully revealing Amaris's adorable form.
She almost squeaked in delight when she saw him gain but she stopped herself in time. Reaching for him, she sneakily ran her hands through his fur before placing him on the ground.
As if on cue, Amaris changed to his human form, displaying his beautiful face in his full glory one more time.
She almost missed this face, he was really handsome.
'Doesn't change the fact that he's a beast!' she heard a voice say.
Arya thought she could watch this eye candy and satisfy the hunger of her eyes for a little longer but her inner voice brought her back to. Zipping the bag back in place, she hung it over her shoulders and stood up properly to face Amaris.
Amaris who had just transformed from his small form to a human, took a glance around, hoping to find a bed to rest after such a long day but to his dismay he was standing on a street. A street!
Wondering why Arya stopped here, he turned around to hear her say, " Sir Amaris, this is how far I can take you. I hope you find your way home soon. Please stay safe."
Amaris didn't expect that at all. He thought that since she already helped him out of her school, she accepted to help him so he didn't mind being squeezed in her bag or being poked by those strange looking books.
All the way, he had been thinking of the next line of action but he later threw that to the back of his mind saving it for after he had a goodnight rest on a bed. Even though it may not be as relaxing as his kingsized bed back home, he would try to make do with it…for now.
But why did what she said feel like she was leaving him? Amaris thought just as he watched Arya offer him a bow, turned around and started walking, leaving him behind.
'She was really leaving? Then how will he find his way back home? She was the key to the bathroom portal!'
No he couldn't let her leave. He thought as he followed quietly behind her.
After a few seconds, Arya who had been walking toward her home wondered why the beast didn't argue when she parted ways with him.
Maybe he had finally seen reason and decided to let her go. She thought as she glanced over her shoulders only to see the beast watching her closely
"Why do you keep following me?" Arya stopped with her back still facing Amaris and asked, she could feel her temper rising.
"I need you."Amaris said with a frown.
"For what exactly?" Arya asked again, facing Amaris this time. She knew where this was heading and she wasn't going to like it.
"To help me find my way home, Miss Arya. The bathroom door, I think you're the key to unlocking it. If you can just-", he replied but was cut short by Arya.
"I told you I don't know any secret entry or exit from the bathroom, you either use the door that everyone uses or you get lost!" Arya knew he was going to say that, how was she a key to open a bathroom door?
Was this guy going nuts?
Taking a deep breath, Arya continued. "I've had a really long day Sir Amaris. You have my word, I won't tell a soul about what I saw today not even my grandma. So please, leave me alone." She enounced each word with her palms joined together at the end before she headed home again.
She could already see the front gate of her house.
Amaris watched again as the human left him to fend for himself. He did think about finding his way home by himself but one wrong move and he'd be knifed! No matter how powerful he was back at his kingdom he still preferred to keep a low profile.
Just like that quote that said, 'When in Rome, do like the Romans do.'
And this was a different world, he didn't even know their do's and don't's. So if he ever got caught and fought to protect himself, he might really end up dead.
Panicking at the thought, Amaris walked forward and was about to grab Arya's hand but thought against it and instead called out to her.
"Miss Arya, please don't do this."
Arya stopped, clenched her fists and turned to face him. "Sir Amaris, you don't seem to get me do you? I can't take you home with me! How will I explain it to my grandma? And not forgetting that you are a…"
"…beast? Miss Arya, I'm not disputing the fact that I'm a bit different from you but you can't just keep calling me a beast!" Amaris said, his imperial aura that he had tried so hard to hide slightly peeking out. He was so tired of being called a beast.
Contrary to people's beliefs, although he was a wolf he couldn't accept being called a beast.
Arya who didn't expect Amaris's change in behavior was speechless for a few seconds.
But what did he say? A bit different? No No No…He was wayyyy different. A completely different being!
Black can't be called White and viceversa!
Sighing, she kept her thoughts to herself seeing how her words had hurt the man so far. "I..I'm sorry Sir Amaris. It's just…I can't process anything right now." Arya apologized.
"Your world, your identity, what you're capable of. It just seems so new to me and I'm pretty sure that if it was someone else, they would have fainted from fright." She continued to say, making Amaris release a sigh which in turn capped the aura spreading around him.
"Trust me Miss Arya, I know exactly how you feel. Being unexpectedly thrown into a completely new world, I feel like I'm the most confused person right now." Amaris uttered with pursed lips.
His words made Arya realize that she had been a bit selfish. She had been rambling and feeling indulgent at the way Amaris' appearance was making her feel never for once considering the way HE felt from all this.
Truthfully, if she were in his shoes, she'd have probably cried her eyes out.
"Sir Amaris, I understand your pain. When I lost my parents it felt like I was abandoned. So I'll try to help you." Arya voiced after deliberating within herself brightening Amaris' mood only to be doused a second later.
"Meet me in my school tomorrow by 5'oclock in the evening so we can try this portal thing in the…bathroom." Arya paused, feeling really awkward at the words that spilled out of her mouth.
If someone passed by and heard her words, they'd think she was suggesting something with this blindingly handsome dude. Even she won't believe herself if she didn't know any better.
Amaris who thought he had been given an amnesty felt like someone poured a bucket of ice-cold water over his head.
"This…"
Arya who hadn't noticed a change in Amaris' mood proceeded, "That's my house over there. See you tomorrow!" She turned to point her finger at a house that was just a few steps away and faced Amaris again when she saw tears streaming down his face.
Alarmed, Arya thought, 'Why was the beast crying?!'
